Green smoothies always sound like a good idea – that is, until, you take your first few sips and it tastes like soil (or worse, manure). But green juices can actually taste really good if you get it right.
We could all do with a little more energy in the mornings, dewier looking skin during the day and a sounder sleep at night. And there are a whole load of vitamins and minerals available that are out there to help you on your way. But, in the spirit of searching for the right products for healthy living, it’s not always easy to know which foods suit your lifestyle and nutritional needs.

2. Spirulina Powder
If you’re looking to make your morning smoothie really fancy, why not invest in some algae found in ponds? Ok, it might sounds gross, but spirulina is renound for its health-boosting properties, earning its status amongst health fanatics – it’s thought to improve the immune system, digestion, control appetite and a whole bunch of other things!
3. Chia seeds
Chia is the super seed from Latin America that boosts energy, strength, weight, skin and hair! Accordingly to Cosmopolitan, it’s got ‘three times more iron than spinach, five times more calcium than milk, double the potassium of bananas, eight times more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon, per 100g it has 41.2g of fibre, 20.7g of protein and 714mg of calcium’ – oh and if it couldn’t get any better, it’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals! Sprinkle them in your smoothie – and remember, they expand in water, so will add bulk to any drink.
