Lidl Perfume Dupes: £3.99 Perfume ‘Smells Like Chanel’

Are the Lidl perfume dupes of designer brands really a good knock off? Or are we kidding ourselves that we can smell like Chanel for under a fiver?

When we watch the gorgeous and glamorous Keira Knightley ride away on that motorbike with the hunky man lusting after her…of course we want to buy the bloomin’ perfume!

Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle eau de parfum can sell for up to £100 for a 100ml bottle. The designer scent was initially introduced back in 2001, intended to be an alternative fragrance for younger women – hence the name Coco Mademoiselle. This translates to ‘Miss’ in English if your French GCSE knowledge has escaped you…

In 2007, Chanel launched an advertising campaign, with British actress Keira Knightley becoming the face of the brand. Releasing a Hollywood-style, high-budget advert directed by BAFTA-winning director Joe Wright, the perfume was highly sought after by women everywhere.

Lidl Have Released A Chanel ‘Dupe’ – Suddenly Madame Glamour

Not all of us have the luxury of being able to purchase a designer perfume – especially at the extortionate retailer prices you might find in The House of Fraser, Debenhams and Boots.

Budget german supermarket Lidl have decided to capitalise on creating a ‘dupe’ of Chanel’s infamous Coco Mademoiselle; a fragrance they have named ‘Suddenly Madame Glamour’ which is priced at just £3.99!

Lidl Perfume Dupes Original High Brand Chanel Fragrance

Are the Lidl perfume dupes all they’re cracked up to be?

Reportedly, both the Lidl and Chanel perfumes smell of bergamot, rose and jasmine and there is no difference between the scents. Since its launch, the £3.99 perfume has been a hit with shoppers.

Even eBay have started stocking it for up to three times the original price.

£4.99 Aura En Rose Is Another Success In The Lidl Perfume Dupes

Before the release of Suddenly Madame Glamour, everyone went crazy over Lidl’s dupe of Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle which they called Aura En Rose. Julia Roberts became the face of the designer perfume in 2018 and the fragrance again was priced at a high double digit figure.

Aura En Rose sells at just £4.99!

The Lidl perfume dupes are part of the Suddenly collection, released as a full perfume range copying the scents of many high-end, designer brands for a smidge of the price.

The likes of Giorgio Armmani, Dior, DKNY, Dolce&Gabbana, Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss and Ghost have all been compared to Lidl’s dupes and the reviews have been overwhelming positive.

On the website Smell-A-Likes, users commented:

‘I had a spritz of this [Suddenly De Esplendor] walking round Lidl last week and knew it smelt familiar…got home to spritzed J’ador on the other wrist, couldn’t tell the difference. Have two bottles so I can use all the time.’
