With the amazing success of season 1, it's no surprise that fans are getting excited about the green-lit season 2 (and another 2 seasons after that, too, hoorah!). Here we see actress Shelley Conn as a newcomer to the show for the brand new season. Conn is playing the mother of a new and interesting family indeed. Conn will be playing Mary Sharma, who is mother to sisters Kate and Edwina.Kate is going to be a huge love interest of the season for Bridgerton family head (and fan-favourite Anthony) so hopefully we'll see many sparks flying between those two. After the drama the Featherington family went through in season one, fans will be eager to see the return of Penelope Featherington in particular - and this photo reveals that we won't be disappointed! The Fan-Favourite Duke of Hastings Sadly Won't Be Returning

Many Bridgerton fans - if not all - were probably eager anticipating the return of Daphne and the Duke's dynamic, to see how they're now faring after the season 1 finale. But sadly, it looks like Simon Basset actor - and all-round heartthrob - Rege-Jean Page won't be returning. Shonda Rhimes revealed the news on her Instagram page in the guide of Lady Whistledown - and this is certainly big news for the upcoming season.We don't yet know what this means for Simon's character in the show, or how his absense will be written into the second season. While the below photo specifies that Daphne will remain a loyal wife, does that mean she'll remain happily married to the Duke? What's Happening With Daphne?

The main focus of season one was Daphne's chemistry, lust and love with Duke of Hastings - and we lapped it all up! The season ended with Daphne and the Duke eventually together, despite coming to blows many times. With their storyline apparently all wrapped up and season 2's focus now being on Daphne's big brother Anthony, what's planned for Daphne?There are definitely no shortage of suitors for Daphne Bridgerton, and could this photo suggest that she reconnects with Prince Freidrich? Fans will know of Edmund Bridgerton based on name alone - he's the father of the family, the late husband of Violet and the deceased husband leaving Anthony to take charge. So fans may be wondering why an actor has been cast to play him for season two... We can only imagine that some flashbacks might be in order! And that's exciting. Or, plot twist, is he really dead (nah, he probably is, but you never know!).Edmund is going to be played by actor Rupert Evans, so it's exciting to think how new blood will bring to life such an important character that we haven't met yet. One of the most standout characters in Bridgerton often come from the older matriarchs and powerful women. We love seeing a bad ass female character, and Bridgerton offers that in spades. He's also been described as an intellectual, so it sounds like he could be a mean intellectual opponent for some of the main players.
