1. A Cemetery

(Image Source/ boredpanda)Okay, this is something you definitely don't expect - or want. But this building uncovered a full cemetery underneath its floors. This of course could not be renovated anymore as now the cemetery is uncovered it had to be respected.

2. Prison Cell Doors

This family bought the house which was actually once an old prison. This door is one of the real-life cell doors that was used in the prison. Now of course they have painted it white so that it looks more homely and less intimidating. But, it's a very fascinating feature.

3. A Hidden Hornet Nest

If there's one thing you don't want to find...it's a hidden hornet's nest beneath your wall. Some people find treasure and hidden things - and this person reveals a pest problem ready to come and sting them. But, it's still pretty amazing nonetheless.

4. A Creepy Tunnel

This building revealed a whole mile-long tunnel underneath the ground. This could not be any more creepy and it's not something you'd want underneath your ground. It looks like something out of a horror movie. What makes it worse is the scary paintings of people alongside the walls...

5. Time Capsules

Time capsules are a great idea exactly for this reason. When someone finds it a long time later it's a glimpse into a past life. And, judging by the tin and the items this has been hidden for a very long time. There's also a little note to go along with it.

6. A Toilet Table

The previous owners were really thinking ahead here...this has to be some invention that will happen in modern life. Soon we will all have toilet tables. What a perfect way to relax on the toilet, read a book...maybe even have a cup of tea resting on the table.

When this couple moved into this house, they found door after door, after door. All in a row. What is the need for a line of adjacent doors I'm not sure? They surely can't lead to separate rooms (they would be very narrow) so it seems a little bit futile.

8. A Hidden Safe

When this person started renovating they removed one of the plug sockets from the wall. But when they took it away they realised it was hiding in a safe. Which, is a very interesting find and seems like the kind of thing you'd reveal in a movie as an elaborate way to hide something.

9. A Sword

This looks like some kind of samurai sword. The new owners moved into this house which is around 100 years old. They took away a layer of the walls and found this sword stashed behind. You can see by the look of it that it's very old and traditional.

10. An Important Message

The previous owner of the house decided they had to leave a very important message behind. It reads: “It’s the 5th October 1997. If the Spice Girls are still popular next time this room’s decorated I’ll eat my overalls. By Dad.” This child had a great sense of humour and thankfully for them, they do not need to eat their overalls.

11. An Ancient Newspaper

These people found a little piece of history when they moved into their house. it was discovered in a basement. It dates right back to 1902 and it's a copy of The Denver Post. The front page discusses Roosevelt. This is an incredible item to find in your house.

12. Soap From A Country That No Longer Exists

Finding a bar of soap may not be so cool but finding one from a country that no longer exists definitely is. In fact, it's historic. It's actually probably even worth something now as items from Zagreb are rare now that it doesn't technically exist any more

13. A Projection

These people did not move into their house and find a hidden object or a secret treasure but they did discover something after a few days of living there. When the sun comes out the door number projects a large number of 36 onto the stairs. It's very effective.

14. A Secret Bedroom

A secret bedroom. Is there anything better that you could find in a new house? This is like every child's dream. And, not only the undiscovered room, but the door opening is actually a bookcase that disguises it. The question is...did the estate agent know about this or did they get a bedroom free?

15. A Built In Toaster

Okay we've heard of built-in wardrobes. But this couple who lived there before the previous owners took built in to the extreme by having a toaster built into the wall. Is this really innovative idea that should take off or is it just strange...I don't know.

16. A Concealed Sim Card

If this was an action movie this would definitely have been some cool way to conceal but keep evidence. In reality, there's no reason why you would paint a sim card to the ceiling. First it would have to be stuck, then you'd have to paint over it. We'd love to know what was on it...

17. Vintage Wallpaper

Vintage is completely back in fashion and people are seeking it out and paying a fortune for it. These people stripped back a few layers of wallpaper as they were redecorating and they found this super cute vintage spaced themed wallpaper underneath.

18. A Chain In The Walls

This family had moved into the house they had just bought which was from the 1930s. They started to remove the plasterboard and found this chain. What it leads to or what it is for is unknown. perhaps it was for an old chain pulley system. It remains a mystery.

This family that moved into their new house were also just as lucky to find a secret door. The book case that hides it looks very unsuspecting, but when you open it there is actually another room behind it. Hide and seek would be taken to a new level in this house.

20. A Real Life Kid's House

Is this not every child's dream? The people that lived here previously created a real-life mini house in their basement for the children. Not just a doll house, no this house actually worked with lights and all. These children had the ultimate play-time.

21. A Hidden Jacuzzi

When this lady dug up her flooring to renovate her new home she found this amazing jacuzzi bath-tub hidden underneath it. The real question here is, did she clean it up and keep it? This find is too good to get rid of. Even the tiles look intact still.

Everyone wants to buy a house and look around and discover some hidden treasure. And, that's exactly what these people did. They were doing some repairs and they found a lot of things stashed inside the walls: money, a note and even a diamond ring!

This would be kind of creepy to discover, a full basement under your house. And, it was hidden by a trap door which makes it even more exciting. But, imagine when this is renovated it will add a whole extra floor to the house. They definitely got more than they bargained for here.

This person uncovered the walls and found this old piece of artwork. We hope that they kept it as a feature because this really is an amazing thing to find and you can see by the style of the painting that this must be super old. And, it still looks in great condition.

25. A Real Well

This is not a family home but a family who moved into a pub in England. Of all the things they could discover - they realised they had a well underneath their flooring. Now, it's right in the centre of a table making the most unusual table centre piece ever.

26. A Room Sized Monopoly Board!

Not in your wildest dreams could you imagine that there was a life-sized Monopoly board just sitting under your floor-boards. Of all the things to discover in your house surely this has to be one of the coolest? Image the family parties gathered around this board.

27. A Well And River

Here is another well, who'd have thought anybody would find a well in their house never mind two. But this older couple found that they had a 30 foot deep well in their kitchen which actually leads to the river. Now, it's a feature and they've even put lights to illuminate and glass over the top.

28. A Milk Door

This family found an old milk door behind their cupboard. This is the cutest little door ever and we hope that they kept this discovery without removing it. People used to keep their milk in these little milk cupboards many years ago before there were fridges.

29. Decades Of Different Paints

This person moved into the house and started stripping down the old paint so that they could paint it fresh. They found that they were the first people in decades to do this. There are layers and layers of previous owner's painting and the effect is very cool.

30. An Old Key

When this person took away the plasterboard they found this old key resting on a hook. Who knows where it may lead to? And why it was left enclosed in the walls? I'm sure the owners of this house spent a lot of time trying to find a door that fits this old hidden key.
