The Craziest Things Sold On Craigslist

By Anna Collins 1 year ago

1. Taxidermized RAT underwear!

Yes. You heard that right. This is just wrong on SO many levels. They have full heads on with teeth and eyes! Who wants a dead rats HEAD near your private arts Now surely this shouldn't even be allowed. All I can say is I hope nobody bought this...

2. A very squished chicken nugget

Well if you've been shopping high and low for someone's old squished chicken nugget that looks somewhat like a male reproductive organ if you squint your eyes - then lucky you you've found what you've been looking for! No if not (and we hope not) then you'll agree this is absolutely ludicrous.

3. High heels decorated in rice and read beans

'Oh, I've always wanted a pair of rice and bean covered high heels', said absolutely no one. Ever. We can't imagine that the sales for this piece have been pouring in, but hey, who are we to judge? But what happens when the beans start to age and go bad?

4. An antique baby catapult

A Victorian baby yeet machine, is this even allowed to be sold? Even as an ornamental piece this is so wrong on every level. This piece of machinery is used to fling items out of it. And it's a baby's crib on top...so something's not sitting right with us here.

5. A vest made out of real chicken skin

Are your eyes deceiving you? We wish they were, but we're afraid not. It's made out of real, scaly CHICKEN skin. Gross. I don't know why it's being sold for children, because this is sure to give nightmares and frighten any kid who has been bought this.

6. A very creepy looking beer doll

Who? Why... what even is this? Not only do we definitely just not want it, but there's also something about the desperate tone 'PLEASE, I need him gone' that makes it sounds as if this creepy dude would haunt you at night. And nobody wants to wake up to these eyes staring at them.

7. Someone's idea of dual controls

So this is being sold as a right hand drive kit, meaning technically somebody in the right seat should be able to drive using this very amateur looking contraption. This definitely doesn't meet any kind of driving standards and it looks anything but safe to use.

8. Stripper pole trailer

When you read the description we bet that this image was not exactly what you had in mind. It doesn't exactly scream luxury or even Mardi Gras appropriate. Custom built stripper pole trailer is a very loose term to whatever this thing is in the photo.

9. The finest stainless steel toilet and lavatory

Again with the mis-selling. A stainless steel toilet and lavatory is far from what this person is selling. This looks more like somebody has stolen a toilet from a Portaloo which has a built in sing in the top. It's hardly what we think of when we hear the word lavatory.

10. A stick of celery

This person didn't eat the celery stick which came with their buffalo wings and blue cheese dip from Applebee's, so they've decided to pack it in their bag and take home, photograph and upload it to sell. By the time someone (if anyone would) buy it it would have gone bad anyway!

11. A wife hauler

A handmade wife hauler...what is that when its at home? At least his wife got a ride I guess rather than having to walk around the auctions. I think when she saw it she probably wasn't too pleased with the idea and so he's trying to sell it instead of letting it go to waste.

12. A gem embellished half eaten grilled cheese

I think what we're all asking here is why is this gem balanced on some kind of half eaten cake? Especially because the person is asking for over 17 thousand dollars for it. If the gem was really worth so much...I think it would be kept elsewhere rather than a greasy half eaten sub.

13. A rug with a man lay on it head first

Just to clarify again...the uncle is NOT included. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm sure your uncle's a nice man, but we don't want him included with the rug. Why he's passed out on the floor is another matter, there wasn't another photo you could've used?

14. A very bendy carrot

It's so selfless that you're willing to sell the floppiest carrot you have right now. And at such a reasonable price! How could be possibly refuse? Sorry, but who and why would anybody want a floppy carrot? Pretty sure if we dig around in the bottom of the fridge we'd find one ourselves.

15. A serious snow plow shoe!

Got a snowy drive? No problem. These snow plough shoes are here to solve...absolutely nothing. I think this person will be waiting a very long time for the patent. We appreciate people trying to be innovative- but there's definitely a line to be drawn here.

16. Chips stuck together in hummus to look like a recliner

Right so who wants someone's (mid century wicker recliner) old chips dipped in hummus and stuck together for $20? What, no one? Count us out. I don't know what planet this person is on, but there's false advertisement and then this. This is on a whole new level.

16. Literally just a rock

It's a cool rock indeed, and if we found it and somehow made the connection that it looked remotely like Venom then sure, we'd be impressed. But $1,400,00 for a rock someone's found on the floor? We'll pass. Someone's definitely trying it on here.

17. Half a used Pepsi bottle

Oh lovely...a half drunk bottle of Pepsi. Even the square bottle cannot make up for the fact that this is a used (by a complete stranger) and probably flat bottle of Pepsi being sold online for $30. We would not even pay $1 to drink somebody else's drink thank you - square bottle or not.

18. Looking for a removal van...

Basically this guy is looking for a free removal van. And who can blame him? If it had to be entered by a crane, it needs a crane to get it back out and those things don't come cheap!

19. A GIANT Ugg boot

Whether you're a fan of them or not, you have to admit that wearing Uggs is comfy. It feels like walking on a cloud. So, the appeal of this giant Ugg boot is that not only would it be a comfort for your feet, you could probably stand in the entire thing.

20. A wonky potato

To be fair, the wonky potato definitely is a visible heart shape. And it's kind of cute. Cute enough to look at for a little while before eating - or in this case, judging by the amount of sprouts all over it, throwing it in the food recycling. But not cute enough to sell...or buy!

21. A real life Elf on the shelf

This person is selling their elf on the shelf entertainment services for up to $100 an hour! Surely elf on the shelf is creepy enough without having a real life version! And the dolls already cause enough trouble without having a grown sized man creating chaos too...

22. A money embellished toilet seat

I do hope that the seller manages to make back more money than they actually put in this toilet seat. The cash and coins embellished on the toilet undeniably do have a very tacky effect. Then again, there may be someone out there who has the perfect décor for this very unique piece of furniture.

23. A real life bat mobile

A real life batmobile! Calling all batman lovers, this one is for you. The car itself is pretty slow, and unfortunately the wings for effect don't make it go any faster. But you'll certainly cause a stir when you go around in the batmobile. This one is pretty cool I have to admit.

25. A badly constructed Stone Henge

How could you make one of the very wonders of the world look so unappealing? This person's got it covered. We all recognised what it was...but it still looks horrible. Thankfully the real thing looks much more beautiful than this grey painted polystyrene structure which has been thrown in someone's backyard.

26. A toaster chair

You'll be pleased to know that this toaster does not actually toast. Otherwise things could get pretty uncomfortable and hot if you sat down. Ouch. In fact, the creator himself admitted the chair wasn't actually comfortable to sit on, that it was more of a novelty decoration piece...

27. A butt shaped pumpkin

This is perfect for those us if with a slightly immature sense of humour. And admit it, this butt shaped pumpkin did make you laugh. If it's Halloween time and you're hosting a party then this really could be the most comical decoration that you have.

28. A nail clipper costume

Okay, just when we thought things couldn't get any weirder we are presented with a nail clipping costume. If you are REALLY stuck for fancy dress ideas then by all means, go for it. You've got to give it to them, it really is original. You'd never have to worry about turning up in the dame outfit as someone else.

29. Old and used car seats, without the car

Surely nobody is falling for this. Some very old and worn looking car seats have been ripped out of the car and this person is actually trying to sell it as a gaming chair. Most people have enough trouble getting away from their PlayStation, never mind being fastened in with a belt.

30. A 5lb grated bag of cheddar cheese

Too much cheese...this sounds like a concept I can't understand. But no matter, it's good for us. Who doesn't want a huge pack of pre-grated cheddar cheese? Sounds like this person has really done us a favour. And it's a better portion of cheese than you can find in the shops.
