In 2019, Snooki first appeared in the reality TV series Jersey Shore and was earning $150,000 per episode. Her behavior on the show made her a figure of disdain and her most memorable moment on the show was when she was punched in the face. After this incident her appearance fee rose to $10,000!

Now a mum of three, following Jersey Shore, Snooki made an appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw, in 2011. She also received a fee of $32,000 for a speech at Rutgers University. She discussed what it's like to be a celebrity offering the piece of advice, "Study hard, but party harder."

In 2010 the documentary Catfish was filmed, which included Nev Schulman as its subject. Schulman had met and fallen in love with a woman online, but she wasn't who she claimed to be. Schulman then took on the roles of host and executive producer for the MTV spin off program Catfish: The TV Show in 2012.

Production of the show was put on hold in 2018 after a sexual misconduct claim. After investigation, it was quickly determined that the sexual misconduct accusation was "not credible," and the suspension was revoked. In 2020 Schulman and his wife finished runners up the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars.

Paul Michael DelVecchio Jr, also known as Pauly D was cast in Jersey Shore in 2009 after receiving a message on My Space after the directors liked his look. In 2011 he won the Teen Choice Award in the male reality star category after growing in popularity. Would you vote for him?

Pauly went on to appear in several other reality shows including Famously Single in 2016. He also signed a three-album deal with 50 Cent's labels G-Unit Records & G-Note Records in 2011. He was also the first cast member to have a spin-off show named The Pauly D Project.

Staten Island, New York, native Michael Sorrentino born in 1982, popularly known as "the situation," appeared on Jersey Shore from 2009 until 2012. In 2010, Sorrentino earned more than $5 million, second only to Kim Kardashian among reality stars. Cha-ching!

Sorrentino made an appearance on the Comedy Central roast of Donald Trump in March 2011. Both viewers and critics had negative things to say about his performance. Later that year, Sorrentino received a $10,000 offer from clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch to stop wearing their brand. He was also given an eight-month prison term in 2018 for failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Philip John Clapp became known as Johnny Knoxville. He is the co-creator and leading star of the three-season MTV reality stunt series Jackass, which ran from 2000–2001. After Jackass, Knoxville has had roles in several different films including Men in Black II and The Dukes of Hazzard. In 2009 he revealed on The Howard Stern Show that he tore his urethra during a stunt for Jackass and had to flush this twice daily for three years to prevent any scar tissue from forming.

Ally Hilfiger the daughter of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger appeared in Rich Girls an MTV reality show that aired for one season in the fall of 2003 and winter of 2004. In the show, Ally is regularly seen shopping in luxurious locations around the world including London, and the Hamptons.

As a child, Hilfiger was bitten by a tick, which led to several complications. She was eventually diagnosed and treated for Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses. This and the stress of appearing on reality TV, led to a psychotic episode at the age of 18 putting her in a mental hospital.

Jaime Gleicher is the best friend of Ally Hilfiger and also appeared in Rich Girls. Gleicher's late father, founded Innovative Luggage, a business with a $10 million market value. Hilfiger and Gleicher started arguing at the conclusion of the season, and it seemed that being on camera all the time had a negative impact on both.

Aged 18 years old, Lauren Conrad was cast in the reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Conrad made her final appearance on the series in May 2009 after producers pressured her to make up with her previous best friend Heidi Montag after falling out over rumours Lauren had made a sex tape.

In 2006, Whitney Port was chosen to appear in the reality series The Hills. Port famously fell down the stairs while appearing live on Good Morning America in 2007. She also received a promotion to become Teen Vogue's West Coast fashion contributor during the third season of the show.

Born in Crested Butte, Colorado, on September 15, 1986, Heidi Blair Montag was cast in The Hills in 2007, shortly after relocating to Los Angeles. Montag and Spencer Pratt escaped to Mexico during the fourth season of The Hills, where they wed on November 20, 2008.

After leaving The Hills, Montag tried out for the role of Megan Fox's replacement in the third Transformers movie, but she was ultimately rejected. Montag said in January 2010 that she had ten cosmetic surgery procedures in one day, nearly dying from taking too much Demerol, which brought her pulse down to five beats per minute.

Jessica Simpson, the singer and actress, has a younger sister named Ashlee Simpson. At the age of 15, she began her career as a back up dancer and appearing in television advertisements. Simpson rose to fame as the star of The Ashlee Simpson Show, a spin-off reality show that aired on MTV from 2004 to 2005.

The star of the MTV-produced reality television programme Life of Ryan was Ryan Allen Sheckler. After three seasons, the Life of Ryan television series came to an end in 2009, with just half of the intended episodes being produced in the final season. He explained this was because it was becoming detrimental to his career.

Born in New York in 1986, JWoww, also known as Jennifer Lynn Farley, originally gained notoriety as one of the eight main cast members in the MTV reality series Jersey Shore. She then appeared in the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation and Snooki & JWoww spin-offs.

In July 2010, Farley debuted her clothing brand, "Filthy Couture," in a runway presentation in Las Vegas. She provided endless entertainment for her viewer, but found herself in a bit of trouble back in 2021 when she was arrested after allegedly assaulting a nightclub security guard.

Spencer Pratt made his big break on reality TV in 2006 on MTV's 'The Hills' where viewers from all over the world tuned in to watch his turbulent relationship with co-star Heidi Montag. The couple ventured overseas to the UK, where they featured on Celebrity Big Brother UK... he was included in the 2013 list of 'The 60 Nastiest Villains Of All Time' as a result.

Ortiz-Margo became part of MTV's reality show 'Jersey Shore' in August 2009. The show ran until 2012 and throughout that time, Ronnie became one of the most well known reality stars on the channel. He was in an on-again, off-again relationship with co-star Sammi, and the pair's relationship finally came to an end in 2016.

We followed Kailyn on her journey through teen motherhood on MTV in 2009, when she was aged 17. She got pregnant to her then boyfriend, and gave birth to her son Isaac Elliot Rivera, in 2010. The show saw her fall in love again, and the birth of her second son Lincoln Marshall was televised in 2013.

Kaylin shared her story of a miscarriage in 2015 where she lost her baby at 25 weeks, a baby girl named Nevaeh Rae. This caused a huge rift in the relationship she shared with her then husband, and the couple called it quits a few months later.
