1. Snooki - THEN

In 2019, Snooki first appeared in the reality TV series Jersey Shore and was earning $150,000 per episode. Her behavior on the show made her a figure of disdain and her most memorable moment on the show was when she was punched in the face. After this incident her appearance fee rose to $10,000!

Now a mum of three, following Jersey Shore, Snooki made an appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw, in 2011. She also received a fee of $32,000 for a speech at Rutgers University. She discussed what it's like to be a celebrity offering the piece of advice, "Study hard, but party harder."

In 2010 the documentary Catfish was filmed, which included Nev Schulman as its subject. Schulman had met and fallen in love with a woman online, but she wasn't who she claimed to be. Schulman then took on the roles of host and executive producer for the MTV spin off program Catfish: The TV Show in 2012.

Production of the show was put on hold in 2018 after a sexual misconduct claim. After investigation, it was quickly determined that the sexual misconduct accusation was "not credible," and the suspension was revoked. In 2020 Schulman and his wife finished runners up the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars.

Paul Michael DelVecchio Jr, also known as Pauly D was cast in Jersey Shore in 2009 after receiving a message on My Space after the directors liked his look. In 2011 he won the Teen Choice Award in the male reality star category after growing in popularity. Would you vote for him?

Pauly went on to appear in several other reality shows including Famously Single in 2016. He also signed a three-album deal with 50 Cent's labels G-Unit Records & G-Note Records in 2011. He was also the first cast member to have a spin-off show named The Pauly D Project.

Staten Island, New York, native Michael Sorrentino born in 1982, popularly known as "the situation," appeared on Jersey Shore from 2009 until 2012. In 2010, Sorrentino earned more than $5 million, second only to Kim Kardashian among reality stars. Cha-ching!

Sorrentino made an appearance on the Comedy Central roast of Donald Trump in March 2011. Both viewers and critics had negative things to say about his performance. Later that year, Sorrentino received a $10,000 offer from clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch to stop wearing their brand. He was also given an eight-month prison term in 2018 for failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Philip John Clapp became known as Johnny Knoxville. He is the co-creator and leading star of the three-season MTV reality stunt series Jackass, which ran from 2000–2001. After Jackass, Knoxville has had roles in several different films including Men in Black II and The Dukes of Hazzard. In 2009 he revealed on The Howard Stern Show that he tore his urethra during a stunt for Jackass and had to flush this twice daily for three years to prevent any scar tissue from forming.

Ally Hilfiger the daughter of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger appeared in Rich Girls an MTV reality show that aired for one season in the fall of 2003 and winter of 2004. In the show, Ally is regularly seen shopping in luxurious locations around the world including London, and the Hamptons.

As a child, Hilfiger was bitten by a tick, which led to several complications. She was eventually diagnosed and treated for Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses. This and the stress of appearing on reality TV, led to a psychotic episode at the age of 18 putting her in a mental hospital.

Jaime Gleicher is the best friend of Ally Hilfiger and also appeared in Rich Girls. Gleicher's late father, founded Innovative Luggage, a business with a $10 million market value. Hilfiger and Gleicher started arguing at the conclusion of the season, and it seemed that being on camera all the time had a negative impact on both.

After filming Rich Girls, Gleicher began treatment at Silver Hill hospital for depression and an eating disorder! Jaime also received her master's degree in social work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. She is now working as a psychotherapist.

Aged 18 years old, Lauren Conrad was cast in the reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Conrad made her final appearance on the series in May 2009 after producers pressured her to make up with her previous best friend Heidi Montag after falling out over rumours Lauren had made a sex tape.

Lauren received her own spin-off series The Hills and starred in five of its six seasons from 2006 to 2009, earning an annual salary of $2.5 million. Conrad has also launched three separate fashion lines, one podcast series "Asking for a Friend", and a fragrance named Loved. Busy girl!

In 2006, Whitney Port was chosen to appear in the reality series The Hills. Port famously fell down the stairs while appearing live on Good Morning America in 2007. She also received a promotion to become Teen Vogue's West Coast fashion contributor during the third season of the show.

Port's inclusion on the judging panel of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model's ninth season was officially announced in 2012. She also had a role in, What to Expect When You're Expecting, a movie starring Jennifer Lopez. Sadly, Whitney has miscarried three times throughout the years.

Born in Crested Butte, Colorado, on September 15, 1986, Heidi Blair Montag was cast in The Hills in 2007, shortly after relocating to Los Angeles. Montag and Spencer Pratt escaped to Mexico during the fourth season of The Hills, where they wed on November 20, 2008.

After leaving The Hills, Montag tried out for the role of Megan Fox's replacement in the third Transformers movie, but she was ultimately rejected. Montag said in January 2010 that she had ten cosmetic surgery procedures in one day, nearly dying from taking too much Demerol, which brought her pulse down to five beats per minute.

Jessica Simpson, the singer and actress, has a younger sister named Ashlee Simpson. At the age of 15, she began her career as a back up dancer and appearing in television advertisements. Simpson rose to fame as the star of The Ashlee Simpson Show, a spin-off reality show that aired on MTV from 2004 to 2005.

The star of the MTV-produced reality television programme Life of Ryan was Ryan Allen Sheckler. After three seasons, the Life of Ryan television series came to an end in 2009, with just half of the intended episodes being produced in the final season. He explained this was because it was becoming detrimental to his career.

The Sheckler Foundation was established in 2008 to help youngsters as well as injured and recuperating athletes. In 2017, Ryan admitted to being an alcoholic for the previous few years and checked himself into rehab after his addiction jeopardized his skateboarding career.

At the age of nineteen, Theo Von made his professional entertainment debut as the lead in MTV's Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour. While enrolled at Louisiana State University, he was approached about joining the show. He also appeared on four seasons of MTV's reality game show The Challenge.

Von moved to Los Angeles and attempted to launch a career as a comedian after his time on MTV. No Offense, Von's first hour-long comedy special, was made available on Netflix in 2016. He is currently a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, and he also started a podcast in 2023 called This Past Weekend.

American reality television star Eric Nies was born on May 23, 1971. He first rose to stardom as a cast member of MTV's The Real World: New York, and subsequently made appearances on other reality programmes including The Grind and Confessions of a Teen Idol.

Nies has had numerous movie appearances since leaving the reality scene, including Beyond the Rim and The Brady Family Movie. Many magazines have also featured Eric as a fitness model. He and his brother John also created and promoted The Abaratus, a abdominal exerciser.

In July 2010, Farley debuted her clothing brand, "Filthy Couture," in a runway presentation in Las Vegas. Farley was listed among the "Sexiest 100 Women of the 21st Century" in GQ magazine's January 2013 issue. Her ex-boyfriend Tom Lippolis tried to blackmail her by demanding $25,000 in exchange for keeping "her secrets" from the media.

Farrah Abraham left the teen-mom circle and branched out her reality show scope to shows such as 'Celebrity Big Brother', 'Botched', and 'Ex On The Beach'. She provided endless entertainment for her viewer, but found herself in a bit of trouble back in 2021 when she was arrested after allegedly assaulting a nightclub security guard.

Spencer Pratt made his big break on reality TV in 2006 on MTV's 'The Hills' where viewers from all over the world tuned in to watch his turbulent relationship with co-star Heidi Montag. The couple ventured overseas to the UK, where they featured on Celebrity Big Brother UK... he was included in the 2013 list of 'The 60 Nastiest Villains Of All Time' as a result.

2019 saw the premiere of 'The Hills: New Beginnings', and the reboot was set to follow Spencer Pratt and co as they navigated their new business venture 'Pratt Daddy Crystals'... the show was cancelled after 2 seasons. The couple have since welcomed two children, Gunner Stone and Ryker.

John Amadeus Devenanzio, also known as Johnny Bananas, shot to reality stardom whilst competing on MTV reality game show, 'The Challenge'. He caused mayhem on the show, and will forever be remembered as the shows most iconic competitor. 2006 saw his very first TV appearance on the seventh season of 'The Real World'.

Cavallari was just in her junior year of high school when the first season of 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County' began production. The show followed her early relationships, the ups and downs of her friendships, and her intense rivalry with cast member, Lauren Conrad.

Life after reality TV has been turbulent for Cavallari. She married Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, and the couple had three lovely children together. Her parenting styles have been criticized by many as she refused to vaccinate her children. The divorced in 2022.

Maci Bookout received public attention after starring in the reality television series '16 And Pregnant'. She gained lots of media attention for her appearance on the show, leading to the release of her book Bulletproof in 2016. She also featured on the spin off show, 'Teen Mom' where she let the world into even more of her life as a young parent.

Bookout split from her baby daddy in the show, Ryan Edwards, and married Taylor McKinney in 2016; the pair have a child together. Edwards has caused friction in the new family, and the couple have now filed an order of protection against her child's father. Ortiz-Margo became part of MTV's reality show 'Jersey Shore' in August 2009. The show ran until 2012 and throughout that time, Ronnie became one of the most well known reality stars on the channel. He was in an on-again, off-again relationship with co-star Sammi, and the pair's relationship finally came to an end in 2016.

Since his appearance on the show, Ronnie has welcomed daughter Ariana Sky Margo in April 2018. His relationship with his daughter's mother didn't last, and he landed himself in month long rehabilitation program for alcohol and depression. In 2021, he was arrested on domestic violence charges.

'Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory' aired on MTV and ran from 2009 - 2015. American skateboarder, turned reality star used his TV platform to show off his business skills... from a converted warehouse. The show did however, land him a spot in the Guinness Book Of World Records, pretty impressive if you ask me.

Life after MTV has been quiet for Rob, he founded his own company, Dyrdek Machine, along with a business-focused podcast which he started in 2021. He is now married to his girlfriend, after a dramatic Disneyland proposal, and the pair now have two children.

After immigrating to the United States at aged 13, Vinny went on to 'Jersey Shore' stardom, featuring on all six seasons. After making his name on the show, MTV produced his own talk show, entitled ' The Show With Vinny', which made its debut to our screens in 2013.

There's not much to report on Vinny Guadagnino in the present day. He documented his 50 pound weight loss journey which landed him with multiple features in Men's Health Magazine, as well as giving him the platform to write his own healthy cookbook, The Keto Guide Cookbook, which was released in 2019.

We followed Kailyn on her journey through teen motherhood on MTV in 2009, when she was aged 17. She got pregnant to her then boyfriend, and gave birth to her son Isaac Elliot Rivera, in 2010. The show saw her fall in love again, and the birth of her second son Lincoln Marshall was televised in 2013.

Since life on the show, Kailyn has welcomed two children Lux Russell and Creed Romello, and is expecting a 5th baby. Kaylin shared her story of a miscarriage in 2015 where she lost her baby at 25 weeks, a baby girl named Nevaeh Rae. This caused a huge rift in the relationship she shared with her then husband, and the couple called it quits a few months later.

Sammi Giancola made her start on reality MTV show 'Jersey Shore' in 2009. This role opened up many doors for the reality star, such as appearances in movies, and many other TV shows. However, the shore has always had her heart, and she announced her return after an 1 year hiatus.

Life after MTV for Sammi has been busy, she began to endorse fragrances in 2011, launched her own online clothing line in 2015, and began a podcast in 2015. The podcast, entitled Just Sayin, ran until 2017, creating a whopping 104 episodes. The podcast content was discussing their own personal lives, and the latest celeb gossip.
