The Creepiest Things Kids Said
The Unseen
I was a babysitter for some people I knew and regularly took care of their three-year-old on nights. One night when his parents were away, we were playing as normal. All of a sudden, he pointed at a painting in their living room of a woman. In the painting, her head was turned away.As he was pointing, he said something that made me get goosebumps. He said, "I don't like her, she's scary." I had no idea how to react but asked him why he thought that. He replied, "I don't like her eyes. She has bad eyes."

The Shadow Man Cometh
All children have imaginary friends, but my daughter's was creepier than most. When she was three, she began to talk of the "shadow man," who sat in the corner of rooms. But he didn't just sit still - she also said that he moved around. It was all fine at the beginning, but after a while, I could tell she was getting more frightened. She kept saying that "shadow man" was getting angry.
I decided I had to do something about this so that she wasn't so afraid all the time. I thought, 'I'm going to get rid of the "shadow man."' I grabbed a baseball bat, went into the corner of the room, and started pretending to hit "shadow man." However, my daughter got even more scared. She started crying, saying that "shadow man" was laughing at me. "He's got sharp teeth!" she screamed. This was even more terrifying than I could imagine.

No Laughing Matter
I have a younger brother, and we get along really well. When he was around eight years old, though, he did something that haunted me forever. It was late at night, and he was in bed - I was watching TV with my parents. My brother's room was right next to the living room, in case he needed anything as he was going to sleep.
Just as everything was silent in the house except for the murmur of the TV, we heard something. It sounded like a little girl, high-pitched and frenzied. I swear we all jumped as soon as we heard it - me and my parents. We had no idea where it came from. I went straight to my brother's room and found him smiling creepily in his sleep as if he'd just laughed. The next day, he had no recollection of it, and it never happened again.

For the Love of Ice Cream
I love my four-year-old niece, but sometimes she does the creepiest things. Honestly, she's like a character from a horror movie. Case in point: one day while I was visiting her house, I found her playing with her dolls. So far, so normal. They were all arranged around a little table, and she was sitting at the head of it.
She was talking really fast, and I couldn't understand what she was saying. I went over to see if I could join her little game, and that's when I realised what she was 'telling' the dolls. I went cold. She said that she and the dolls were planning to murder everyone in the house and then eat all the ice cream. She didn't stop there - she said she would kill me by suffocating me with her teddy bear! Unsurprisingly, I didn't stay long that day.

It's Them or Me
I'm really close with one of my cousins - our birthdays are just 15 days apart. He has one older sister, who's a little bit mean. She got super jealous when he was born because she wasn't an only child getting all the attention anymore. The family were all cooing over the new babies: me and my cousin.
A few weeks after we were born, things got really weird. My mum and aunt were in the kitchen at my house. Me and my cousin were both asleep in the living room in our cots. My older cousin, her jealousy out of control, appeared in the kitchen. With a knife in her hand. She strode right up to my mum and aunt and said, "I'm going to kill them."

The Blonde Beast
I have to travel a lot for work, often on short flights around the country. One time on one of these short flights, the airline sat me next to a little blonde girl and her mom. Usually, I wouldn't mind sitting next to a child on a flight, but this experience changed my mind forever.
The flight is just taking off, and the girl is getting really excited in her seat. She points out of the window next to me and shouts, "We go up and die!" I thought I'd misheard her, and so did her mom - she replied, "Yes darling, we're going into the sky!" Moments later, she gets excited and points again, screaming, "I see pain!" in my ear. Her mom rushes to reply again, glancing apologetically at me, "Yes, you can see planes!" But this moment scarred me for life.

Peek-a-Boo
My daughter likes to get changed in my room, where we have a big closet. There's a mirror right next to the closet, and this one morning in particular I was getting her dressed there with the closet door open. Suddenly, she started laughing. I smiled and asked her what was funny and she replied, "The man!" There was nobody else in the room.
I asked her where this man was and she pointed into the open closet. "There's a man with a snake neck!" I quickly peered into the closet but of course, there was nothing there. But I couldn't get what she said out of my mind. It sounded like she was really describing someone who had hung themselves. She has never mentioned it again, but now I'm scared to look up the history of our house.

Mischief Maker
As a young child, I had a catchphrase I would repeat all the time. So I would say, "When I was an adult..." and follow it with something that I 'used' to do when I was I was an adult. My parents usually ignored it, but my dad says I once freaked him out so bad that he never forgot it.
One time, he tried to grab me but his hand just went right through my little body. This was when he realised that he was asleep. He woke up suddenly from the creepy dream and immediately thought to check on me. He left his bedroom and found me in the corridor outside my room, giggling and running away from him. To this day, he thinks that I was actually in his dream.

Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before
Apparently, when I was really little - before I could even talk - I did something that really creeped my parents out. I still couldn't say words, but I used to hum the same tune all of the time. And I really mean all the time - I did it when I woke up, when I was playing with toys, when I was sitting in my buggy. I would even hum this tune in my sleep!
My parents tried for ages to figure out where I had got this tune from, and why I was so obsessed with it. One day, my aunt and uncle figured out the mystery. They were watching TV one evening and it cut to an ad break. Finally, they heard it - the tune I was singing. It turned out it was a commercial jingle - but they still don't know where I heard it first or why it stayed with me for so long.

Decisions, Decisions
When we were younger we had a dog called Wiley. He was really sweet generally, but once he did actually nip my nephew. It was only a light bite, and he was fine thankfully. After it happened, my nephew was really concerned about whether Wiley would be punished for biting him. I reassured him by saying of course he would, we might take away his toys for a while. But I made the mistake of asking my nephew what he thought the dog's punishment should be.
He started by saying normal things: "Maybe he should get yelled at..." but then his voice completed changed. In a really low pitched, creepy, adult voice, he murmured, "Or we could kill Wiley." I thought I'd misheard him, but he sounded so serious. After that, he went back to normal, saying things like, "Or we could take his toys away..." But I could never forget how serious he sounded.

Hide and Seek
When my daughter was 18 months old, I had the most frightening experience I could ever imagine. I usually sleep well, but one night I woke up to what sounded like my daughter running frantically around her room. By the time I went in to check on her, it was quiet again, and I was hoping that she'd gone back to sleep. I walked in and teased, "Erika? Where's Erika?"
I didn't hear anything for a beat, and then suddenly from behind me I heard, "Shhhh!" Erika was stood behind the door hiding and staying completely still. She frightened me so much that I jumped! The same incident hasn't happened again, but there have been similar creepy experiences where she decides to scare me right out of my skin. When she sees me using scissors, for example, she shouts, "Fix the kitty's tail!"

Girl Gone Wild
Sometimes I work late at night at home - when my daughter's in bed is the only time I'm guaranteed peace and quiet! Anyway, one night as I was working at my desk, my daughter woke up and found me. She was one and a half at this time. I asked her if anything was wrong and she said, "The fire. The fire's coming. Be quiet." I was a little perturbed, but she went straight back to bed afterwards.
Things continued getting weirder. When she was two, I asked her if she would be okay with having a little brother or sister. She seemed to consider this for a moment and then took one of her pillows and held it over one of her doll's faces! A year later, she came up to me and whispered "Take your ear off." Then, as we were tidying up her birthday party, I heard her say to herself, "Pop the balloons. Pop all the joy." Very weird!

Spirit Medium
According to my mum, I was quite a talker when I was little. And this is when I was still in nappies! She usually wouldn't be freaked out by anything I said, but then one day when she was changing me, I said very seriously, "I used to do this to you when you were little."
Apparently, this was completely different to things I usually said, and she was really weirded out by it. Nothing that freaky ever happened again, though. To this day she thinks it was her grandmother talking through me.

Furry Friend
When my daughter was four, she had an obsession with Cinderella. She loved the movies, the dress, everything. She also was pretty imaginative for her age. At bedtime one day, I had just finished reading her a fairy story. Right as I'm about to say goodnight and tuck her in, she sits up suddenly and whispers, "Lucifer? Lucifer?"
I was extremely creeped out, but then I realised why she was saying that. The cat in Cinderella is called Lucifer.

Dearly Departed Friends
According to my mum, when I was little I said something really creepy to her - she remembers it to this day. One morning, my family were all having breakfast in our kitchen. I liked to sleep in, so I came down a little bit later and immediately said something that made them all get goosebumps.
I said, "Uncle Sal was talking to me last night." My grandmother went cold. Uncle Sal was her brother who passed away ten years ago. My whole family were quiet, and apparently, I just acted like everything was normal!

In the Shadows
My husband has a son called Lane. We were at a friend's house once, and I was sitting in the garden around a bonfire with Lane on my lap. I made to get up, and he practically screamed, commanding me to sit back down. He said that "it" was watching from the shadows. He described what "it" looked like, and said that "it" would hurt me if I got up.
Well, after that I was way too frightened to get up! I sat there until Lane fell asleep, got his dad to watch him, then I escaped to the house. Since then, I've been afraid of the dark.

Hunter and Hunted
I come from the Philippines, and we have a fairytale here about a "duwende." This is a magical gnome who kidnaps children away. Once, I was babysitting my niece, who was three years old. She woke in the middle of the night and I went to see if anything was wrong.
Suddenly, she pointed out the window and said, "Why is there a garden gnome under that tree?" I tried to reassure her that was nothing there, but I was uncomfortable too! I shut the curtains and asked her to not go near the tree when it gets dark.

Silent Partner
Sadly, our daughter was born prematurely. Unsurprisingly, she had some health issues when she was born, including excess fluid in her ear which made it hard to pick up speech. As a result, she mainly communicated with body language and waving.
When she was two years old, she developed a habit of waving to a spot on the wall in her bedroom. She would shout hello and smile, without taking her eyes off this point just above the window. We couldn't get her to explain what she was doing. By the time she did start speaking, she'd forgotten all about it.

The Never-Smiles Kid
My son went to kindergarten with the creepiest kid I've ever met. Firstly, he simply never smiled. One time, I was helping out at a school festival, and this boy was there too. Suddenly he turned to me and said "I'm gonna cut your eyes out," while holding scissors.
I was super shocked, and tried to tone down the conversations by saying, "Nobody's cutting eyes out, okay?" Then I requested that my son be moved to a different class from him. Later, I heard this boy had been causing trouble by trying to light paper towels on fire in the bathrooms.

Shared Illusion
My mom said that I said some creepy things as a kid and my brother often said he saw ghosts. On one occasion, he spoke about a girl with pale skin and black hair who would force him to run around the house for her. My mom was a bit worried but figured it was just my brother's imagination. He said that he always thought it was me for a second before realising it was someone else.
Well, what I said really creeped her out. Without blinking, I explained, "My imaginary friend used to look exactly like me, it was probably her." Now, I don't remember having an imaginary friend but I don't know what was going through my head then!

All Good Questions
I used to enjoy watching the History Channel when I was five years old. Often, I would watch it really early in the morning at like 4 am if I couldn't sleep. Then, the channel had an intro where they would ask the viewer questions like "Who were they?" "Where did they come from?" "Where did they go?"
Anyway, once, the day after I saw this, I was playing with my toys and I started repeating the questions. Over and over. My mom was just looking at me, not understanding what was happening.

The Ghost Knows
Once when I was going out with my girlfriend, we had an argument while we were out, and I found myself sitting alone in a cemetery. I thought I was alone with just my thoughts, but then I looked up and saw a girl. She must have been about seven or eight.
She looked me in the eyes and said, totally seriously, "Where is your beautiful wife?" I was really confused and told her I didn't have one. I must have looked away for a second because when I looked at her again she was gone. Completely disappeared. But 15 years later, I ended up marrying that girlfriend.

It's Coming From Inside the House
Me and my brother used to stay at my grandma's house quite a lot as a kid. She lived in a very old, historic house, with a huge garden. So many things happened that were weird. One time, me and my brother thought someone was watching us in the garden at night. Then, one night the chickens she had completely disappeared, no trace.
But my brother said the creepiest thing. He said that he could hear babies crying at night when he was trying to sleep. When he had a bath, he would say that there was someone banging on the windows - but there was nobody outside. It was just really weird.

Didn't See You There
A few years ago, I worked in short-term foster care. At one point, I was sitting with one of my brothers. He was just eight years old. We were in the living room together, and everything was quiet. Then, he suddenly zoned out and said something I'll never forget.
He started talking about how he was going to kill his brother by stabbing him. Then, he said he would kill my partner by suffocating him. He went on for a while, like 10 minutes. When he finished, he suddenly turned to me and said, "How long have you been there?"
LINKImage Source/Unsplash
A Family Affair
My niece used to say the creepiest things. She was only three years old but would say that she had spoken to a relative who was dead. Not only that, but she could identify dead relatives in pictures without knowing who they were. She would also tell us details that she couldn't have known that age.
For example, we had a relative called Poppy. She told us, unprompted, that he was funny, and that she knew he had one finger shorter than the rest. Actually, he had lost half of one of his fingers in an accident. But there was no way she would have known this.

The Burden of Dreams
I used to be a babysitter when I was younger. My family were friends with a local teacher, and looking after their child was one of my regular jobs. The poor girl was a pretty anxious child and had frequent nightmares. I tried to reassure her when she was having these, but she would often say really weird things.
For example, in one of her recurring dreams, she would see mould growing out of people's faces! However, the creepiest one was about a "rat man" she said would sit in the corner of her room at night and watch her. This was the weirdest thing she talked about, and I was never comfortable at her house again.

They'll Drive the Property Value Down
When my eldest son was about three years old, we went on a visit to a friend's house. She had children as well, and they all got along really well. I left them playing in one of the kids' rooms: they would laugh at the closet, run to it, and then run away again, all while giggling. Then things got really strange.
Apparently, my son was climbing into an old crawl space in the closet. I found him and pulled him out and he told me that "she" wanted him to find her. The creepiest thing was, their house used to be a daycare and orphan home in the 1900s. There were crawl spaces everywhere, and apparently, my friends used to hear crying, laughing and running feet in the night.

Twice Too Much
I used to live in quite an old house, which had a big basement under the living space. The dining table ran pretty close to the entrance to the basement, and my young daughter would sit there a lot. When she started to be able to speak, she would often tell me about a man that comes and tickles her. I asked her if it was scary and she said it wasn't, she just didn't like him annoying her.
I didn't think anything of it again, thinking it was just her imagination, until one day, when my son was around four years old. He was sat in the same place as my daughter used to (she was a bit older now) and complained about the same thing! He would squirm in his seat and say he didn't like the man coming and annoying him! I decided to move pretty much straight away.

A Wild Goose Chase
I have family in Ireland - my auntie's grandparents. She used to visit a lot when she was younger. But then one day something really scary happened and they didn't like my auntie visiting anymore.
Apparently, she liked to collect eggs from the geese in the garden. One day, there was a commotion in the garden, and when my auntie came back to the house, she had loads of scratches on her. "The geese can't hurt me now, they're sleeping," she said, really creepily. In fact, she had killed them all with a stick.

Making Light of It
When I was little, I shared a bedroom with my younger brother. This was all fine until one day when I went to bed and realised the light was still on. My brother was about six or seven and in his top bunk. I assumed he was sleeping. I turned the light off and thought nothing of it.
Then, I heard, "Turn it on again!" It was my brother. I got up to check on him and turned the light on. He was sat upright in bed staring into space - he must have been sleeptalking. I said quietly, "Why?" and he replied, "Because I was born in the light." It was really weird, and my heart stopped for a second. Then he went straight back to sleep.

Das Creep
When my son was little, he started saying some really weird things. One of his daydreams related to a "snake-neck lady." She would float around the room around him. One time he said, "She wants to be my mommy, and she wants to hurt you." I was super creeped out - he also said that she couldn't leave the room because she was "attached to the ceiling."
At the same time, he started shouting in German when he was angry. Nobody in our family is German or speaks German so I have no idea where he got it from. It was the weirdest thing, especially at the same time as the "snake-neck lady" comments.

Wise Beyond His Years
I had some really creepy conversations with my son when he was about three years old. One time, he told me that he used to be an "old man" who smoked. "And there was a fire," he added. He just blurted it out while he was brushing his teeth!
Another time, he sat up in bed, looked me straight in the eyes and said, "You're a baby, then you're old, then you're a baby again." He painted a circle in the air with his finger. Since he's gotten older he hasn't been as weird but I still get goosebumps when I think back to these conversations.

Special in a Creepy Way
I do regular babysitting jobs, and last month I spent some time babysitting my four-year-old cousin. She's a really extroverted child, always chatting. The first time I went to the house, she ran up to me and said, "By the way, I strange my hamster. He's on my shoulder now but you can't see him. It was fun killing him."
I tried to put it out of my mind because she's a lovely kid. Later on, though, as I was putting her to bed she told me that she sees people at graveyards - a lot of old people floating around. I think she might have special sight.

The Man in the Corner
It was all quiet in the house one night until I heard a huge scream from my daughter, and she just wouldn't stop. I tried to calm her down but she was manic in her crib, lashing out and twisting from me. I said her name over and over and stroked her hair but she took ages to calm down.
Finally, she was a little calmer and I asked her what happened. She told me that the "man" was in her room. I asked what he looked like and she pointed at her black skin, then pointed to her eyes and said, "red." I think she might either have an overactive imagination or sleep paralysis or something.

Always Planning Ahead
A few years ago, my sister was having a baby. I asked my cousin if she was excited, and though she did seem happy about it at first, she got sad pretty quickly. She told me that she liked being the youngest in the family and that she wouldn't be anymore when they were born.
Suddenly, her eyes brightened up and she practically squealed, "But if they're younger than me then I won't be alone when Nate dies!" Nate is her elder brother. I didn't really know what to say to this - it was a little weird that that's what she was thinking!

Little Goth
Yesterday, I was sitting alone with my son. He's six years old. He's quite creative and loves drawing. He was showing me some of his pictures, and one of them was a little disturbing. It showed a house on fire and a man running around with a sack of something. "He's robbing people," my son said.
Then he went quieter and murmured, "My life is terrible, there's just sadness and lies." I turned to him to try and cheer him up and he went on, "Why don't you just bury me, it will be quieter." It was really strange.

My Little Monsters
I have two children, and though I love them both immensely, they do say some creepy things sometimes! I was taking my son t school one day and he told me, "I wish I could cut your head off and take it with me." What?!
One other time I was putting my daughter to sleep and she just turned to me suddenly and said, "The lady in the wardrobe doesn't like you." I tried to put it out of my mind and tell myself it's just her imagination going crazy!
LINKImage Source/Unsplash
Well, That Settles That
I have a three-year-old son, and he can be a bit funny sometimes! Yesterday, I was waiting with him to cross the road. He was holding my hand and getting a bit impatient to cross. I told him that you have to wait, and it's dangerous not to.
I added that if we're not careful we could get hit by a car, that's why there are crossings. Suddenly, he looked up at me and said, entirely seriously, "But you won't die on the road. You die in a fire." I had no idea what to say!

A Message from the Grave
My mom told me that when I was younger I had a really active imagination. A part of this was my imaginary friend, who was a British soldier in World War I. He used to follow me around and tell me things, apparently.
One time, I told my parents that my imaginary friend had told me about his experience being stationed in India. I don't think I'd mentioned this before. My parents got out a map and asked me to point to India. And guess what? I got it right first time.

Any Last Words
I have a five-year-old daughter, and I love our bedtimes together. But then the other night she said something that made me go cold all over. Thankfully, what she said didn't come true but it haunts me now.
As I was tucking her in, she said, "I'll be dead by the morning." You can imagine how scared I was then! She was fine, of course, but it didn't stop me from watching her all night just to be sure.

Whatever You Want, Sweetie
My wife has to work out some days, leaving me. to look after our daughter. I love this time with her, but last week she said something really weird. As soon as her mother had left, she turned to me and said, "She's gone, we can do bad things."
I asked her what she meant and she said, "Jump on the bad and use the scissors to stab things!" I swear she had a glint in her eye when she said this! I made sure to keep the scissors out of the way just in case.

Do Go On
I have a three-year-old, and he's such a sweet kid. Really curious, and never says anything weird. That is, until last week.
I was sitting at breakfast with him, and out of nowhere he just said, "I'm going to be sad when this home is set on fire." I got goosebumps for a second before I realised it was probably just his overactive imagination.

Somebody's Watching Over You
My daughter has loads of teddy bears and soft toys, and she loves holding each of them before she goes to sleep. Onenight as I was tucking her into bed, she said something that made my heart stop.
She grabbed one of her favourite teddy bears and said to me, "You can sleep with Monty, mom." I asked her why, when it was one of her favourites, and she said, "I don't like when its eyes move."

Man's Best Friend
I was at the pet store one day getting dog food and I overheard a conversation in the next aisle. I could hear a little boy speaking to his mother, and he said something really creepy.
He said, "We need a dog that eats a lot." Then he added, "That way when they die they can eat your body. Then you'll still be with me!" It was super creepy.

Goodbye and Goodnight
I was putting my two-year-old son to bed one night and he said something really weird. I thought it was just a slip first but he said, "Goodbye daddy." I corrected him and said, "we say goodnight at bedtime."
Then he added, "I know, but this time it's goodbye." I couldn't sleep that night at all, and had to check on him every few hours!

A Visitor from Beyond
My cousin was playing in her room with her dolls. I went to check on her and asked her what she was playing. She just smiled at me and said, "I was showing pap my dolls."
The weirdest thing is, pap is what we called our grandpa. He had just died that morning and I had actually come to tell her. Sometimes, I swear kids have an intuition for things.
LINKImage Source/Pexels
Past Lives
When my daughter was younger, she sometimes talked about a "past life." In the story, her daddy was really horrible to her - he would beat her and put her in a closet. Then, she would say that this man actually killed her and her mother. She would even describe her "past life" death, it was horrible.
One day we were driving through Kansas and she pointed out a house and said, "That's my old home." We had never ever been there before. I don't know where this started but I'm glad she stopped talking about it when she got a bit older.

Get the Heck Out
My younger sister is a really heavy sister. If she falls asleep then nothing can wake her back up again. One time she had fallen asleep next to me while I was on my phone. Suddenly she woke up, looked out the window and said, "Don't let them in." I asked her if she was okay and she added, "They don't have eyes!"
This had happened before. My siblings used to refuse to sleep in one room in our house because of "the girl without eyes in the closet." I also had nightmares about a girl with no eyes that I never told anyone about. The whole situation was really weird.

Follow Me
I have a younger sister, and something really weird happened when she was two years old. One day, she just sprinted out of the door and down the street. Luckily I saw and ran after her, and when I caught up I asked her what had happened.
She told me that "the lady wanted me to follow her." There was no lady that I could see, and we also don't even know how she opened the door herself as she was still too little to reach the handle.

The Cold Hard Truth
One night as a young girl I was staying over at a friends house nearby. For some reason., I woke up in the middle of the night and was completely scared. My friend was standing at my bedside. I turned on the lamp and what I saw chilled me to the bone.
She was holding a kitchen knife in her hand. I yelled for help and we got the knife off her. Later, they found out that this girl had schizophrenia. Thankfully, with medication, she's doing better now, but I'll never forget that night.

Prying Eyes
(Image Source/ brinn.in.com)I walked into my kid’s bedroom once and she was turning every single one of her stuffed toys around. I asked her what she was doing and she replied very casually saying she couldn’t sleep with all of those eyes watching her.
I don’t know where she had got that idea from because she’d never even said it before and for some reason, it just really freaked me out. She clearly thought her teddies were spying on her while she slept. So it’s no wonder that she didn’t want them all facing her.
A Bloody Present
(Image Source/ mothering.com)We were on a road trip, me, my little girl sat in the back, and my husband driving next to me. We were going on a little holiday away for a couple of days. My little girl shouts at me from the back and says mummy can hold onto this for me.
So I just held my hand out without really looking and then I felt something drop into it. I look down and there’s a bloody tooth in my hand fresh from her mouth. A little bit of warning would have been nice I jumped out of my skin I was so shocked.
A Freaky Prediction
(Image Source/ all4women.com)So there was this time I was shopping with my mom and my niece, we were all looking at dresses. I picked one out and my niece said it would be nice to wear for a funeral (strange thing to say anyway).
Then, the next day my mom gets a phone call saying that our cousin had passed away. And, the freakiest thing of all – she wore the exact same dress to the funeral. It was like some weird kind of prediction I’ll never forget it.
Boobies
(Image Source/ brandtalent.com)I was working as a substitute one day for a kindergarten class. Kids often say strange things but this was definitely the oddest comment I’ve ever had a child say to me.
There was this little girl and she was staring at my chest. She then told me that I had big boobies, and so did her grandma. But she said now her grandma is dead and her big boobies are rotting off. It was so strange I couldn’t wait to finish work that day.
Goodbye Not Goodnight
(Image Source/ stocksyunited.com)I was tucking my two-year-old son into bed as usual. He said goodbye dad. I told him we do not say goodbye at night we say goodnight instead. He replied saying I know, but this time it is goodbye.
I spent the entire night creeped out. The way he said it was so knowing, It was like he knew something I didn’t. Thankfully, nothing happened to me in the night but I still remember him saying it.
Almost Time
(Image Source/ antiquesatlas.com)This didn’t happen to me, it was my grandmother. My 3-year-old was cuddling with her and it was really sweet, the two of them were just chatting. Then, he took her face in both of his hands and brings his face close to hers to whisper something to her.
He then proceeds to tell her that she’s very old and she will die soon. To make matters worse he then looked up at the clock as though time was ticking and it would happen any second. She wasn’t pleased of course and I was just mortified.
Bury It
(Image Source/ fedisbest.com)We had just had a new baby boy. We already had a 3-year-old daughter. And, I know it can take some adjusting to having a new sibling but I wasn’t expecting her to say this. She was stood right next to him peering over him having a good look. She then turns around to me and instead of telling me he’s cute or something she says. Daddy it’s a monster I think we should bury it.
It was a pretty alarming thing at the time. This was not the reaction I was expecting, or the one I had hoped for – wanting to bury her own little brother or thinking he was a monster.
Controlling Me
(Image Source/ blogspot.com)Last week my 5 year old boy came home from school and startled me with a question I didn’t really know how to answer. He asked me, mum what do you see through the black dots in my eyes when I am at school and you are controlling me.
His imagination really is something, at least I know he’s being well behaved if he thinks I’m the one controlling him when he’s at school.
Taking Science Too Literally
(Image Source/ phys.com)My niece was at home and she had a kind of strange and uncomfortable look on her face. So asked her what was up. She said I’m just imagining the blood waves gush over me. For a second I was pretty horrified that such a young kid would have such disturbing thoughts.
Thankfully, I relaised it was because she’d been to a science fair where there were gigantic blood vessels. It seems she was reminiscing, which was a massive relief.
Demon Chicken
(Image Source/ pastchirp.com)I went to a farm once with some friends and they brought their kids, I don’t yet have any of my own. There was tonnes of chickens around (as is expected) but my friend’s little girl didn’t like them at all she thought they were terrifying.
I tried to explain that chickens were harmless and they didn’t want to bother us. Then suddenly I feel this whisper in my ear and it’s the child pointing to the chickens telling me they’re always watching. It was kind of creepy and kind of hilarious at the same time.
White Wolves
(Image Source/ blogspot.com)I worked with this woman in my office and she had a daughter who was around 4 years old. She was telling me how her daughter was terrified of the white pipes in the kitchen cupboard and for some strange reason, she referred told them as white wolves.
This kid one day went up to her mum and told her they shouldn’t be scared of the white wolves anymore because they are friendly. Her mum was pleased they were finally over this so she went along with it. Then the kid turns around and says, we aren’t friends with the man that crawls along the floor stands at the bottom of the bed though.
Nail the Cross
(Image Source/ companioncare.com)This time I was the kid who said the creepy thing. My cat had 3 stillborn kittens and I was distraught. So, I asked my dad if we could make a cross for each of them. He agreed to make me feel better but then I saw them and asked why he was making them so small.
He asked what I meant and I explained that if we were going to nail the kittens to the cross they would be too small. He went pretty quiet for a fair few moments and very simply said we are not going to do that. That was the end of that conversation.
Stabbing the Ham
(Image Source/ fieldtofork.com)As a waitress, you witness a lot. But the strangest involved a little girl. Her mum had gone to the bathroom so I was keeping my eye on the kid for her. I saw her hitting this piece of ham with her fork, screaming die, so I checked to see if she was ok and why she was doing it.
I didn’t expect her answer. She turned to me and answered as though it was the normal thing – she said I like to kill things but I’m not allowed so I’m stabbing the ham because it can’t make any noise about it.
Hi or Die
(Image Source/ africanripples.com)As all toddlers do, my toddler picked a favourite word that she just repeated constantly. At the time it was hi, whatever you said she would just say hi.
Which is fine, much better than when one day she sounded like she said die. That was slightly more alarming. So, to double-checked I asked her what she said. She turned to me and looked me square in the eyes and whispered… die.
Unwelcome thoughts
(Image Source/ coolmenshair.com)Kids say some strange things, but when they say such deep things accidentally it’s hard not to read into it. My four-year-old son one day confided in me and told me that his brain was making him do things that he didn’t actually want to do.
At four years old, that is a pretty bold statement. I can understand it from adults, but It was a fairly alarming statement at that age.
Carson is Gone
(Image Source/ stocksyunited.com)When my son was little, maybe 3, he used to do this weird crawl where he would slide his forehead along the floor. Then one night he crawled across the hallway into my room like that and stood up a few inches from my face and made a weird meow sound.
He got into bed with me and went to sleep…Possibly
the creepiest thing he did was one day I scolded him for misbehaving so he hid his head under his blanket. I pretended I couldn’t find him by saying “Where is my little Carson?” He slowly lowered the blanket and with a dead evil stare said, “Carson is gone, I am Rick.” We never knew any Ricks, as far I can remember. Still don’t. Never figured out where he picked up the name. –
seethella …someone please call The Exorcist.
I'm Graham
(Image Source/ pinterest.com)When my son was around 3 years old he used to do some weird things. For one, he used to do this strange crawl where he would push his head along the floor. He did it one night in the dark and the stood up and made cat noises. But the worst, was when we were playing hide and seek. I asked where Sam was, as that was his name. He had a blanket covering him at the time.
He slowly took it off. Then, he looked at me with some kind of demonic look and said I am not Sam, my name is Graham. It was so creepy. I don’t even know anyone called Graham and he definitely doesn’t wither so I have no idea how he got that into his head in the first place.
The Devil is Stood Behind You
(Image Source/ flickr.com)When my brother was younger my mum told me a story about him. He used to sleepwalk at the time and she was trying carefully to lead him back to bed. She was trying to say come on let’s go to bed.
He replied saying I cannot come because the devil is standing over there right behind you. It was the middle of the night, he was sleepwalking and then he came out with a statement like this. No wonder she’s never forgotten it.
Get the Knife
(Image Source/ pinterest.com)My sister was very pregnant at the time and me and her were talking about the baby infront of my son. He seemed to be listening and he had a kind of thoughtful look his face. He turned around to me and checked whether there really indeed was a baby in her tummy.
I said yes, and he started to walk away. He was walking to the kitchen to the fetch the knife because he told me we had to get the baby out. I don’t know where his thought process was going this time but my sister looked pretty horrified.
An Alien Invasion
(Image Source/ pinterest.com)I had a pretty good imagination as a kid, sometimes it was so vivid I’d make up these scenarios in my head. My mom told me that when I was little, no bigger than around 5 years old, I told her that aliens had abducted me.
And, the boy standing in front of her was a clone of the real one. But, I assured her not to worry because one day I would come home and for now the real me was enjoying life at a zoo. Thankfully, now I’ve grown out of this alien conspiracy and I’m pretty sure it’s the real me…
Squished Birds
(Image Source/ blogspot.com)When I was little, just a young boy about a few years old I came up with a pretty sick idea. I asked my mum if I could use her camera to go and take pictures of the birds outside to which she first agreed, this all sounded pretty cute.
Then I revealed that the real reason was that I wanted to kill the birds (which I was going to do by squashing them) and then hang them on the walls for decoration. Interior design has never been my thing.
Mr. Davies
(Image Source/ openculture.com)When I was very young I remember going to my grandma’s house and when I was there I would talk to someone (who wasn’t there) called Mr. Davies. He looked like he was from decades ago with shaggy hair and he sang me songs on his old guitar.
But, Mr. Davies had told me he had died a long time ago. After a couple of years when I was a little bit older I stopped seeing him anymore. Then recently, I found my father’s old guitar so I’ve been picking it up to start learning how to play. Then the other day my little cousin heard me and told me that Mr. Davies was pleased with me. I’m still in shock.
Stuff Her in a Jar
(Image Source/ packagingoptiondirect.com)The other day I was in the kitchen with my two little boys. It was a normal conversation at first (as normal as it can be with two little children anyway). Then, they suddenly start talking about putting me in a glass jar so that they can keep me forever.
And, they were even talking logistics, how can we find a glass jar that big? How will we manage to get her inside? The sentiment is there, but the thought of being stuffed in a jar is slightly worse.
The Other Mother
(Image Source/ caridganempire.com)I have a little son and he’s never said anything that strange before now. Well, nothing creepy anyway. But then the other day he said to me I used to have a sister before I was here, she was with my other mum and they’re both really old together now.
And, don’t worry they were fine when the car was set on fire but I wasn’t. It was very creepy because I can’t think where he had gotten that from.
I’m Your Mother Now
(Image Source/ empiregarden.com)My dad’s mom died the exact same year that my younger sister was born. It was probably only around a few months apart so the timing was really sad because the two never got to meet.
Anyway, my sister was too young to know this. But then she turned around one day as soon as she could even speak and said to my dad, I’m your mother. It was so creepy. We still don’t know how it happenend.
Surprise Gone Wrong
(Image Source/ hdwallpapers.com)We thought we would surprise my little sister with a puppy for Christmas. So when she was asleep we went to collect him and bring him home. Then when she woke up the puppy would be here.
When she did, she saw the baby and it really wasn’t the reaction that we were expecting like any kid that has got a new little puppy. Instead, she looked concerned and told the puppy you are my baby and I’m not ready yet. She then tried to put the puppy in her mouth.
Forever
Unfortunately, this creepy thing was said by my nearly adult has grown daughter, not a little kid. Which makes it so much worse. She just told me she wanted to live with me and my wife forever and ever. I guess it should be a nice thing to say but it was just totally creepy. Never mind the rest of the creepy list – this was the worst.
Alien Take Off
(Image Source/ blogspot.com)When my child was really young I had this dream with aliens that were taking him away and I had to watch as they carried him away. It was horrible I started screaming and when I woke up my son was already in the room turning on the light and he looked over and started to reassure me saying the aliens are gone it’s ok.
That was the creepy part. I didn’t know if we’d had some kind of shared dream. Or, hopefully, he’d just heard me talking in the night.
I Won’t Chew Your Bones
(Image Source/ today.com)I was cuddling my son, who is very normal usually. He doesn’t even say strange stuff apart from the usual sort of stuff, but nothing creepy anyway.
But we were having a cuddle and he told me not to worry because he promises he won’t chew on my bones, ever. I mean, it’s good to know I guess. But did it need to be said?
I am the Devil
(Image Source/ fthismovie.com)If there’s anyone that you don’t insult, surely it’s a nun? My little cousin was at preschool and there are a few nuns who work there to help out. One day he decided to insult them in the worst possible way, and he told them that he would hit them because he is the devil.
His mum was mortified. How can a child come up with something so evil? Especially to a nun? As you can imagine, he was no longer welcome at pre-school again.
Career Goals
When I asked my 3 children what they aspired to be when they were older there was a pretty varied response. The first two were highly aspirational. One wanted to be a journalist and the other an astronaut.
Which I encouraged, it’s good to set high goals. But the other wanted to chop the heads off animals at the farm… I didn’t even know what to say to that. I tried to steer him in a more conventional direction.
Fire Chants
(Image Source/ wjhg.com)We were having a fire in my backyard burning some fire and all my family was there. It was a really nice evening and we were all just relaxing with a bottle of beer. Then my little cousin turns it into some sort of ritual and starts chanting saying burn, over and over.
He was getting louder as the fire grew and his eyes were wide like he was possessed and he had this manic kind of laugh. None of us really knew what to say.
Only One Grandma
(Image Source/ thirdspur.com)When I was young I was visiting my grandma in the hospital who was dying. I was speaking to her just repeating I only have one Grandma. This confused my parents who were telling me that I had another grandma but I kept insisting that I only had one grandma.
I was very young at the time so my sentences were limited. Anyway, they got a phone call soon after and my grandma had actually passed away. So at that point, I did have only one Grandma. They do say that children have instincts so maybe it was some kind of instinct.
Speaking Polish
(Image Source/ lifeofpix.com)My son was young, probably only around 3 or 4, he started singing a nursery rhyme. Sounds normal, apart from the fact that it was in Polish. None of us can speak Polish in the family. Well, apart from my grandmother who had died before he was born.
And what’s more…it was the exact same song she used to sing. But none of us have sung it in Polish since because we do not know the words. There was no way he could’ve known.
Hook Fishing
(Image Source/ outdoortroop.com)I have three children, and my dad died before the youngest two were born. But, my youngest always talks about my father. He refers to the day they spent fishing together, specifically how he told her to put bait onto the fish hook.
The weird thing is my granddad did fish, but we’ve never told them about it and she’s really young to be interested in fishing. But she describes the exact process of attaching the bait to the hook. I don’t think she’s ever even seen a real fishing pole never mind putting bait on before.
Her Friend Mark
(Image Source/ howtoadult.com)When my daughter Evie was just 3 years old we heard her laughing in her room and she was chatting with someone. So, my husband and I went to see and she was pointing at this empty space laughing saying you are funny.
When I asked who she said his name was Mark. I had a best friend called Mark but he had died, not many people, especially my daughter knew his first name was Mark. There was literally no rational explanation for it.
A Visit From Grandma
(Image Source/ tardiswiki.com)When my son called Samuel was around 6 years old his grandma dies, my partner’s mum. They were pretty close so he was very upset when she died. But, after the funeral, every day for a few days he would walk into the lounge and greet his grandma.
He’d have a brief chat with her as though she’d just come in the house for a quick visit. It stopped after about a week.
A Visitor
(Image Source/ stocksyunited.com)My daughter was a few years old and she was climbing on a stool to reach something because we were going to bake some cookies. She said ow and shouted don’t push me. I told her that I didn’t I was on the other side of the room.
She simply said, not you, him! She pointed to a blank space next to her. It was really creepy, I didn’t stay in the kitchen for a while after that.
Little Ghost Boy
(Image Source/ weebly.com)I live in New York with my son Harry in a little apartment together. We went downstairs together so I could fetch some washing. He started staring down the hallway and then he turned and asked me why the little boy at the end of the hall wouldn’t stop looking at him.
Thankfully, he’s not had any similar experiences since. I don’t think I could cope with the shock again. I don’t know if I believe in ghosts or anything like that but it did make me question things.
Tea Party with the Deceased
(Image Source/ somethingrentals.com)My little girl told me that she was having a tea party. I asked if she was inviting any of her teddies. She told me no she was having a tea party with her great-grandma. That was my grandma, who had sadly passed away before she was born.
She then started describing the gorgeous dress that she was wearing, blue and silky with white buttons. The exact same dress that my grandma was buried in. Of course, she had known nothing about it either, it was unexplainable.
Drive to the Cemetery
(Image Source/ thecatholicregister.com)We were driving to the cemetery to visit my grandma’s grave, with my little girl in tow. There was no one around just us and my little girl points and says why is that little boy stood next to that grave all on his own.
There was no one there it was like being in some horror movie or something. It was extremely freaky. I assured her there was nobody there but she was so certain that he was she kept looking back at him.
Devil on the Ceiling
(Image Source/ newgrounds.com)This story involves me. I was lying in bed looking up at the ceiling but this one time I saw a devil on the ceiling. I wasn’t sleeping like everybody assured me I must have been. I knew I was awake and I knew I had seen it as clear as day.
So when I finally told my family as an adult, and my daughter when she was grown up. She told me she’d seen the exact same thing at a similar age. She hadn’t bothered telling us because she didn’t think we would believe her. We both had a shared vision of a devil. Great.
The Boy with Red Eyes
(Image Source/ wallpapercave.com)Out of nowhere my daughter, who was very young at the time started acting really strangely. She would freak out for no reason and look really scared as though she could see something that we couldn’t.
When I asked her what, she said it was the boy and he was all blue but he had red mean eyes. She said he followed her and so for a while I had to stay in her room while she slept because she was convinced that he was also there with her.
Night Terrors
(Image Source/ pacificuniversity.com)Night terrors are pretty terrifying anyway, for the person of course but also for those around them who wake up to someone screaming in the night. My son started having these night terrors.
But he said he could see someone in them and that this boy was haunting him. I didn’t know how to make them stop for him but thankfully after a few weeks they seemed to stop and he doesn’t get them anymore.
A Prediction
(Image Source/ familytoday.com)There was this time, it was really freaky when I was saying goodbye to my son as I was leaving to go to work. I kissed him goodbye and so did he and then he told me to be careful because of the tree.
The weather was really bad that way but I had no idea what he was talking about so I nodded along and said I will don’t worry. Anyway, I was in the car on the way to work and guess what was in the middle of the road. A fallen tree.
Goodbye Baby Goodbye
(Image Source/ parent4success.com)Sadly I suffered from a miscarriage a few years ago. My daughter was around two at the time. I never told her anything just that mummy was a bit poorly because I thought that she was too young to understand and I didn’t want to upset her.
A few days after it happened I was sitting with my daughter and she started singing the words goodbye baby, goodbye. It was like there was some connection that I can’t wrap my head around, but it was almost like she could sense it.
A Holy Visit
(Image Source/ wherestheline.com)When I was just around 3 years old, I had an accident where I slipped down a flight of stairs whilst I was standing backward. I bumped my head but thankfully I had just missed the table where I landed which was made of glass.
My mom told me that afterward, I kept saying a man had visited him. He was a holy man and he had a religious robe on. The man apparently told me to go with him, and that I had refused because I had said that I needed to go to mom and that I had to stay with her for a long time because I was very young.
Familiar Face
(Image Source/ huffingtonpost.com)When I was born my auntie had passed away not long beforehand. When I was still very young my mum showed me a picture of her and before she could speak I apparently told her that that was my auntie and I knew her before I was born.
That was the first time my mum was going to tell me about my auntie, before that she had never mentioned her to me. So how I knew who my auntie was, is a complete mystery to both of us. I don’t even remember the incident now I was so young.
The Shadow Man
(Image Source/ condoworld.com)I was at my friend’s house when I was young and I was having a sleepover with her and a couple of friends. We were quite young, in primary school. She confided in us that she always sees a man dressed in black and he’s always there through the window or stood at the bottom of the garden or even in her bedroom and when she least expects it.
I don’t know whether this was some sleepover spooky story trick to scare us all and have some fun. But the image never left me, and for years after I would watch out for the man dressed in black, terrified that I would see him too.
Lady in the Night
(Image Source/ anomalien.com)When I was little I had a visitor in the night, a ghost lady. Of course, nobody thought it was real they all thought I was having a nightmare or making it up. But when I was older I was looking through a photo album and I saw the exact woman from my visions.
It was my great, great grandmother. I’d never seen her before but she was the exact same woman that I saw in the night. I’m not sure anybody still fully believed me. People don’t like to believe what they can’t understand.
Sick Baby
(Image Source/ medicalnewstoday.com)My little sister hugged my mum one day while she was pregnant and while she was hugging her she suddenly said, that our little baby brother is sick. She was referring to the unborn baby. We assured it was all fine and that she didn’t have to worry.
But it turned out that she was actually right because a few days later my mum sadly had a miscarriage. I’m sure that she could sense something was wrong. Children seem to have this kind of sixth sense where they know what is coming before it even happens.
Premonition
(Image Source/ topcorntime.com)My mum was babysitting my daughter for me while I had an appointment to attend. I should’ve only been a couple of hours. My grandma was waiting for me, saying that I should be home soon.
But my daughter told me that I wouldn’t be home I was very injured and that I had had an accident. She was totally right too, I had a very bad car accident and almost died. But my daughter informed my grandma before anybody else knew.
Taken Over
(Image Source/ understood.com)When my uncle was just a little boy, he had this strange kind of episode. It lasted like an hour, he went all weird and even started to speak in Italian, a language he knew nothing about at that age.
We all think to this day that my grandmother’s spirit had taken over him for an hour and was trying to communicate to us. It might sound crazy but there is absolutely no explanation for that.
Stepdad spirit
(Image Source/ filmfestival.com)When my cousin’s stepdad dies they had to find a way to tell him, they were only young. They sat him down and explained and he said he already knew.
He said he’s already been to see me so I know, and he’s been teaching me poker while you were away he’s just finished now. He can still beat anybody at poker to this day. And, he’s pretty sure that it was because of him.
Don’t Belong in Heaven
(Image Source/ wordpress.com)My little cousin one day was speaking about people who die who go to heaven. His great-grandma had died and so he always said she was in heaven.
But, then he told my mum he wouldn’t go to heaven because he didn’t belong there. He also said he wouldn’t go to hell, but that he would have to go somewhere in-between because he didn’t fit in. He insisted that he wasn’t like other people and could not go to heaven.
Werewolf
(Image Source/ nexusmods.com)My little cousin once confided in me a big secret. He made me bend down so that I could hear him properly and he whispered in my ear that he was a werewolf. He said he transforms when he least expects it and that he does not physically look like a werewolf, but his behavior changes.
He also seemed quite concerned about what he does when he is a werewolf because he cannot control his behavior. It was a strangely sophisticated story for a 5-year-old.
Past life
(Image Source/ mayfarrel.com)My younger brother started talking about his past life. When we questioned him he had a whole story about his other family in his past life and how now he was living with us, his new family.
Because this is his new life now. We researched it and it appears that it is quite common for kids to talk like this. Maybe they really do have some kind of intuition that we don’t.
The Man in the Woods
(Image Source/ thriveglobal.com)My nephew once came home with a story about a man who lived in the woods. Which, of all the strange things kids say it’s definitely not the worst.
But he came up with a whole elaborate story and described his appearance as though he had just seen him. And, every time we went through the woods he mentioned it, he would never forget like with most of the made up stories kids tell.
How I died
(Image Source/ pastchirp.com)Once, my son started to tell me about the time he died. When I asked him, he casually said he was speaking about his past life. He described in great length his past life and how he had died but it was okay because now he had a new family and life that he loved.
He said he had died in a fire and that it was horrible, but that then he had been born again in a different time. It completely took me by surprise.
