1. Liam McGough - THEN
"I don't do too badly with the women... I'm not Brad Pitt, but I'm not Quasimodo's brother."
Originally a tree surgeon based in Lanchester, Liam was a housemate in the eighth series of
Big Brother. He was known as a bit of a ladies' man, and had a bit of fling with his fellow housemate Amy Alexandra. He was also chosen to win a whopping £100,000 before the winner was even announced... ka-ching!
Liam McGough - NOW
Since leaving the House, Liam has continued his work as an arborist for his own company, Tree Guy. He has also tried his hand at treehouse design and construction, and even created a few documentaries. He lives with his partner and dog in London, and recently graduated from university.
2. Makosi Musambasi - THEN
Makosi was a contestant in the sixth series of
Big Brother. She quickly became infamous for her confident, flirtatious nature and curvaceous body. One particular incident that left all BB watchers back in 2005 gobsmacked was her steamy Jacuzzi shenanigans with Geordie Anthony Hutton. And whilst it turned out that she wasn't pregnant following the tryst, the two remained at odds about what really happened in the tub...
Makosi Musambasi - NOW
After she placed third in the show
, Makosi ended up being deported from the UK in 2012. She ended up becoming the face of a lifestyle TV show,
Makosi Today. She posts regular updates on Instagram, and has amassed 28.4k followers. Her main themes are fitness, and her day-to-day life as a breast cancer survivor. She prides herself on being super motivational.
3. Brian Belo - THEN
Brian won the eighth series of
Big Brother back in 2007. You might remember him as being that guy who claimed that he didn't know what the universe was, or that he'd never even heard of Shakespeare. Seriously unbelievable, right? Well maybe he
is that dumb - who really knows... The point is, he entertained audiences and nabbed victory. But whatever happened to him?
Brian Belo - NOW
Turns out - not much. He's appeared on TV a few times for
10 O'Clock Live,
Dead Set and
Pointless. He's appeared as a guest on
Big Brother related shows, including his brief return to the House back in 2015. He also made headlines in 2012 when he claimed that ITV and LimePictures had ripped off his idea for a show called
Totally Essex, and had created
TOWIE instead. You can follow him on Twitter, where he's pretty active with 127,000 followers!
4. Stuart Pilkington - THEN
Originally a property developer, Stuart took part in the show back in 2008. He was described as 'gym obsessed' and rated himself a 'nine out of ten' (not lacking in confidence - eh?). None of that mattered, since he was was the ninth to be evicted from the House.
Stuart Pilkington - NOW
Since leaving his
Big Brother life behind, Stuart went onto become a personal trainer, and set up his own website,yogalifeuk.com. There, he organizes yoga classes and retreats, and posts regularly on both Twitter and Instagram (where he posts herculean pictures of himself - daaamn!). It was also revealed not long ago that he was having a baby with fellow
Big Brother star, Louise Cliffe. They welcomed their baby boy to the world early last year.
5. Mikey Dalton & Grace Adams-Short - THEN
You might remember these two from 2006. Grace was from Plymouth originally, and Mikey, Liverpool. They were together for just four weeks in the House before Grace was evicted. She faced a a chorus of boos for her water-chucking incident. In the meantime, Mikey carried on flirting with other housemates. We bet you thought that was the end of that romance, right? Most relationships from within the House don't survive in the outside world, after all.
Mikey Dalton & Grace Adams-Short - NOW
WRONG! Turns out Mikey saw the error of his ways when he was evicted, and the two dated for a further four months before he proposed. They got married in 2009, and they're still together now. They even have three children together - the youngest was born this time last year. Mikey also owns his own advertising company, and Grace runs her own theatre school.
6. Nadia Almada - THEN
"I want my cigarettes!"
Ringing any bells? Nadia originally took part in the 2004 series of
Big Brother. Many super fans laud that year as one of the very best for the show. And Nadia certainly was a whirlwind - and the first transgender contestant to take a part in the show. She was super popular, earning 73% of the vote and a whopping £63,500! Even old-school presenter Davina McCall revealed that Nadia was her favourite
ever contestant.
Nadia Almada - NOW
But what happened to her after her big win? Well, she went on to record a single 'A Little Bit Of Action', and appeared in a number of TV shows just after her victory. She took part in the
Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, but didn't do nearly as well. Afterwards, she took a course in hair design at the Sassoon Academy in London. She now works as a hair colour specialist at the same place.
7. Craig Phillips - THEN
The first series of any TV show really sets a precedent, doesn't it? And for
Big Brother, it all started back in 2000 - and it was Liverpudlian Craig Phillips that won! He also astounded viewers by donating his entire
Big Brother winnings - a huge £70,000 - to his good friend Joanne Harris. Joanne was living with Down's Syndrome, and used the money for a heart and lung transplant. Sadly, she passed away in 2008.
Craig Phillips - NOW
Nowadays, Craig works as a TV presenter and property developer. He's a DIY and home improvements expert, with has appeared on over 850 television programmes. He married his wife Laura - a qualified personal trainer and fellow home renovator - just last year. They're already expecting their first baby, and both keep their followers on Instagram regularly updated.
8. Brian Dowling - THEN
And talking about the early series of
Big Brother - and
Big Brother legends - how about Brian Dowling? Originally a Ryanair cabin attendant, Brian won the second series, and returned in 2010 to win
Ultimate Big Brother. He's been voted the top housemate of all time on several occasions.
Brian Dowling - NOW
Since then, Brian has been very busy. He's made several appearances on
Loose Women,
This Morning and
Ireland AM. He was also chosen to present
Big Brother and
Celebrity Big Brother for a little while back in 2011. He also presented
The Real Housewives of Cheshire. He married his long-term partner, Arthur, back in 2015, and the two post regular updates on their Twitter and Instagram. Brian recently revealed that he's organizing an event 'A Run For Rosie' in honour of his mother who passed away last year from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).
9. Pete Bennett - THEN
Pete was selected as a housemate for the seventh series of
Big Brother back in 2006. He was a favourite to win from the very get-go. His appearance on the show sparked initial backlash from those who believed the show was taking advantage of his Tourette's Syndrome. But the Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA) later conceded that Pete's taking part had "put Tourette's on the map". This was proved especially to be the case when Pete went onto win the whole competition!
Pete Bennett - NOW
But what's he been up to since? Well, he's certainly had his ups and downs (haven't we all?)... He had his autobiography published in 2006, entitled
Pete: My Story. He tried his hand at singing - performing solo and in his band, Pete Bennett And The Love Dogs. But despite having won the £100,000 Big Brother cash prize, Pete ended up homeless in 2015, appearing on the
Jeremy Kyle Show to discuss his journey from fame to the streets. Since then he's picked things back up and appeared in a few movies, including
Crispy's Curse. He's still working on his music, and remains pretty active on social media.
10. Nikki Grahame - THEN
"How dare she vote for me? She doesn’t even know who I am! I’m too angry to talk! WHO IS SHE? WHO IS SHE? WHO IS SHE? Where did you find her? I can feel the venom pouring out of me as I BREATHE!"
Would this really be a complete
Big Brother list without Nicky Grahame? She was famous for her outbursts, and for having a bit of a fling with the eventual series winner, Pete Bennett. There was a bit of a fuss kicked up about her mental health issues prior to entering the House, but she ended up finished fifth overall.
Nikki Grahame - NOW
Nikki unfortunately lost her battle to Anorexia in 2021. She was often featured as a returning contestant and guest on the later Big Brother series, as well as appearing on a documentary
In Therapy, where she discussed in detail her struggles with anorexia and depression. RIP Nikki ❤️
