Himalayas, Nepal - The Abominable Snowman

Apparently, the typical Yeti is a huge ape-man with massive feet and aggressive teeth. It's 6 feet tall and leaves 13-inch foot imprints. A journalist interviewed residents in 1921 about a "metoh-kangmi" but he mistranslated "metoh" as "filthy," so he used "abominable" instead. Hence, the Abominable Snowman.

California, USA - Bigfoot

In 1958, a journalist published a letter detailing mysteriously huge footprints that had been found in Northern California. Since then, the entire state has been trying non-stop to see the Bigfoot themselves, or to try and capture evidence that this ferocious beast exists.

Scotland, UK - The Loch Ness monster

Commonly known by her nickname, Nessie, the monster is said to dwell in the murky depths of Loch Ness, Scotland's second-deepest lake. In 1933 the number of sightings dramatically increased and a couple reported seeing a gigantic marine creature. Stone engravings of the beast have been unearthed proving that she has been seen for a very long time.

Sydney, Australia - The Opera House Tombstone

Sixteen workers lost their lives during the completion of the Harbour Bridge. However, urban tales suggest that there were three more deaths unaccounted for. Apparently, the workers fell into the bridge's brick pylons and it took weeks for their absence to be noticed. At the time, laws on migrant workers were loose and it appears that the dead were buried there permanently.

In the UAE, Jinns can be either helpful or harmful spirits. One of the most well-known jinn in the UAE is named Umm Al Duwais. The basic gist of her story is that she pretends to be a stunning woman in order to win the attention of guys. Umm Al Duwais is a beautiful enchantress until she catches a man, at which point she transforms into a frightening creature and devours him.

Germany and Austria - Krampus

The true story of Krampus is terrifying. He is described as half-goat, half-demon. In contrast to Santa, Krampus plays a satanic role. Krampus' goal is to scare misbehaving children into behaving better by whipping them with birch branches or carrying them off to hell in sacks while Santa gives good children gifts.

South Africa - Pinky Pinky

South African girls fear Pinky Pinky, a devil with vividly pink hair that preys on ladies just attempting to use the restroom alone, much like other youngsters fear Bloody Mary. Pinky Pinky is especially hostile toward girls who choose to adorn themselves in pink underwear, and that she has even been known to murder such victims.

Arizona, USA - Slaughterhouse Canyon

The tragic story of a 19th-century gold miner who disappeared without a trace all takes place at the Slaughterhouse Canyon. The family's income had dried up without his work, and they were forced to resort to starvation as a result. The wife finally snapped, killed herself by jumping into a neighboring river while her children lay in pieces. Her screams still resonate in the canyon.

When they get off at the next stop, the elder tells the younger man that it was an excuse to get him off the bus, and all three of other men were floating above the ground!

Colorado, USA - The Ridge Home Asylum

In 1912, Colorado opened Ridge Home Asylum. It allegedly mistreated patients, some of whom were mentally competent but had been abandoned by their families. After its 2004 demolition, trespassers swear they can still hear the screams and see the ghosts of former patients.

It's been reported that those infants grew up to be fish-like imps whose new goal in life was to get back at humans.

This is much more horrifying because it's not an urban legend, but rather a peep into the reality of what goes place in the New York City subways on a regular basis.

The ape was discovered in Dade County for the first time in 1974 and some say it looks like an orangutan, while others think it's just a black bear digging through trash on the streets. However, the National Park Service of the United States has taken notice of this urban legend and has concluded that the Skunk Ape does not exist.

From 1995, evidence of the strange creatures came about in the three little puncture wounds of eight sheep. Further sightings occurred in Latin America and the southern US. "It was described as a hairless, dog-like animal walking on four legs," the BBC reported.

There have been reports of an alligator in the New York City sewers since at least the 1930s. Some say the reptile monster is eight feet in length and has white, scaly skin and red eyes. Do we have an albino alligator taking refuge from the daylight in the sewers, or do we have a ravenous beast on the prowl? No one will ever know!

Bunny Man is even worse than Goatman. He's a guy from Virginia who wields an ax and kills people while disguised as a bunny. Rabbit carcasses supposedly appear in October, lending credence to the urban legend that Bunny Man is an escaped convict who travels around Virginia skinning rabbits and hanging them from Bunny Man bridge.

Thessaloniki, Greece - The Bleeding Stone curse

The ancient citizens of Thessaloniki erected the Bleeding Stone to commemorate the thousands of people Theodosius mercilessly slaughtered at the spot. It was said to bleed on the anniversary of the killings. Apparently, he ordered the stone demolished to avoid annual reminders of the massacre and Hippodrome Square has been cursed since.
