The film director, Stanley Kubrick, lived in England and disliked constant travel. For this reason, the film was entirely shot in the European nation. Despite the original setting being Vietnam! Let's face it. The Isle of Dogs in England looks nothing like Vietnam, from the European architecture. Da Nang, Vietnam's climate also differs from Canary Wharf's.

2. Philippines

The climate of Southeast Asia is almost similar. Tropical forests allow filmmakers to substitute locations without rousing suspicion of audiences. The film 'Platoon' scenes were not shot in a Vietnam jungle. They were filmed in the Philippines. If you noticed, the Vietnam jungle is thicker than the Luzon jungle. That forest looks like nothing in Vietnam.

3. Selma, Alabama

10. Mountains in Argentina?

In 'X-Men First Class,' a shot of beautiful snow-capped mountains is in the background. The movie indicates that the scene is in Villa Gesell, Argentina. However, this is a gross misinterpretation because La Giselle has no mountains. Instead, the city is set near a flat coast beside the sea.

Good luck finding space for sweet moments.

19. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul

Watching movies like James Bond's 'Skyfall,' they make it right by portraying how cramped it is. However, the scenes are far too calm and synchronized with order. The bazaar is made of activity. It is because thousands of customers worldwide convene here to buy lamps, carpets, rugs, and jewelry. The place is boisterous and disordered.

20. Nowhere near Waterloo

The dramatic endgame for the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte is depicted artistically in the 1970 film 'Waterloo.' 23. Looks nothing like Indiana

While the film was set in Indiana, the Parkers' home in the movie was located in Cleveland, Ohio. There are many differences between these two locations. Indiana is a rural state with an isolated mien. None of the scenes in the movie reveal the unique characteristics of Indiana. Higbee's department store that was used in the shooting is in Ohio.

24. Oregon

Stephen King may not have beautiful things to say about the adaptation of his horror story 'The Shining.' Instead, Kubrick shot them at another hotel in Oregon.

25. Cité de Carcassonne, France

The 1991 adaptation, starring Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, is regarded as one of the best versions. While the story is set mainly in medieval England, only two instances get the location right. The rest of the film is shot in Cité de Carcassonne, France. However, the medieval French citadel retains purely Gallo-Roman features, which castles in England do not possess.

26. The Grand Budapest Hotel

It strikes us as a surprise that the film ‘The Great Gatsby’ was filmed in the Fox studios in Sydney, Australia, and not in 1920s New York. The Jazz Age sensation was not as glamorous as the film portrayed. New York was streaming in with thousands of immigrants, and slums mushroomed all over the state.

30. The Pyramids of Egypt

When watching movies like 'The Mummy,' we get the impression that the pyramids are located somewhere in the deep vast of the Sahara. But that is not the case.
