I bet you didn’t expect to see this flavour on the list…blueberry crisps! They are advertised as having a “natural and cool flavour” but we can’t imagine what they would taste like. Fruit flavoured crisps seem so wrong, we can even see kiwi ones in the background too!

2. SOUTH KOREA: Octopus flavoured Tako Chips

Octopus is an acquired taste, if you’re a seafood lover then you would probably be interested in trying these Tako Chips but we can imagine a lot of people would avoid them at all costs! After originating in South Korea, you can now get these snacks in a number of other countries too.

In an attempt to make potato crisps a more popular snack in Russia, Lay’s have come up with this red caviar flavour which is a popular delicacy in the country. They have been described as having a salty fishy taste, which means you avoid the slimy texture of fish eggs.

Who doesn’t love garlic butter scallops? They are one of the tastiest starters enjoyed around the world, especially if you’re a seafood lover…so it only makes sense to turn them into a crisp flavour! These ridge-cut Lay’s can be found in Thailand where they are a popular snack.

5. JAPAN: This is so wrong...Pepsi flavoured Cheetos

These Pepsi flavoured Cheetos are only sold in Japan, causing wide controversy when they were released back in 2013. Officially named ‘Pepsi Shuwa Shuwa’ these crisps apparently smell and taste just like the fizzy drink, with the feeling of carbonation as you crunch on them.

There is no denying that cucumber has a wonderfully fresh and light taste, but we’re not sure how that matches up with a crisp flavour…these Lay’s can be found in China, with people reviewing them as having a strange synthetic aroma which doesn’t quite replicate cucumber.

If you’re a kebab fan, you need to get your hands on these crisps! Lorenz is a German crisp company which has created the ultimate snack flavoured with the nations favourite takeaway meal which is the German döner kebab. We can only imagine how popular these are!

These super spicy potato crisps originated in Madrid, created by the company ‘Superbon’ who wanted to produce a fiery chilli pepper flavoured snack to blow your mind…and they did just that! These Piments are a now a popular choice of crisp across Spain and beyond.

One of the most comforting meals around the world…a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in ketchup. So what better way to enjoy this popular snack than to turn it into a crisp flavour! Although sadly, these special edition Lay’s can only be found in Canada.

10. POLAND: Chakalaka flavoured X-CUT crisps

Although these potato crisps are originally from Poland, they are flavoured with the South African relish “chakalaka” which is traditionally made from beans, peppers, tomatoes, onions and chillies. This unique flavour creates a tangy and spicy savoury snack.

The sweet and salty combination has become a popular trend, with people dipping their chips into milkshakes and mixing sweet and salted popcorn. So, we can see why Lay’s decided to cover their original ridge-cut potato chips in milk chocolate to create a unique snack.

These unique salmon sushi flavoured potato crisps have been created by the Hong Kong snack company Jack ’n Jill. They come with a sachet of wasabi powder which should be added to the packet and shaken well to coat the crisps, what a clever idea to replicate the flavour of sushi!

13. USA: The spiciest tortilla chips in the world

These tortilla chips claim to be super hot as they are made with a unique combination of ghost peppers, cayenne pepper and chipotle. We can already feels our mouthes burning at the thought of how spicy they must be, with Paqui warning consumers that these crisps are “extremely frightening”.

14. JAPAN: If you're an avocado lover, you need to try these Cheetos!

Another Japanese special, these avocado salad Cheetos are a very unusual crisp flavour choice. We can’t quite imagine what they would taste like, but some of the reviews have described them as being buttery, sweet and salty all at the same time…they are also green in colour, as you might expect!

Although cinnamon buns are thought to have originated in Sweden, this unique flavour of Lay’s crisps are actually found in Canada. Yet another example of combining sweet and salty flavours, these potato chips have a buttery sugary flavour enhanced with cinnamon spices.

If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, you will be familiar with the tradition of adding wasabi and ginger into soy sauce to dip your sushi. This is why Lay’s have come up with the clever idea to create this crisp flavour, which we can imagine would be similar to wasabi peas!

Calling all cheese lovers…Camembert flavoured Doritos have arrived! You can’t beat a warm gooey Camembert cheese straight from the oven served with fresh crusty bread. Although we love tangy cheese flavoured Doritos, we can imagine these would be next level!

Fried chicken and waffles is a popular breakfast dish in America, combining the savoury goodness of crispy chicken with the sweetness of maple syrup drizzled all over the waffles. Another salty and sweet combo, Lay’s decided to recreate this flavour in the form of a potato crisp.

If you want to try these Lay’s you’ll have to visit India! We’re not sure how we feel about fresh minty tasting potato crisps, but the flavour has been combined with lime and jalapeño to replicate a green salsa…this sounds more appealing than toothpaste flavour!

20. CANADA: Who needs a Caesar salad when you can have these?

Another unique Lay’s flavour found in Canada, these crisps get mixed reviews…some people found them underwhelming and too similar to the signature sour cream and onion flavour. Other people were a big fan, comparing the crisps to a classic Caesar salad with hints of Parmesan and lemon.

Back in 2009, the UK crisp company Walkers launched a competition to uncover a new flavour and ‘cajun squirrel’ was in the top 6! But don’t worry, no squirrels were involved in the making of these crisps which are actually vegetarian as they are flavoured with cajun spices.

Although these crisps can be found in Hong Kong supermarkets, they are Borscht flavour which is a beetroot soup originating from Ukraine. It has a sour flavour which is vibrant in colour from the red beets used to make this dish. We can’t imagine what Borscht flavoured crisps taste like though…

Cheeseburgers are one of the most popular fast-food items across the world, so why not make them into a crisp flavour? These Chio chips come from Germany, which makes sense as burgers were named after the city of Hamburg. They are a popular snack across Europe, particularly in Romania.
