Christine Sharp was played by Angela Cheyne, she joined the cast in 1973. She was an ambitious woman who married Joe Sugden but struggled to be satisfied being a farmer's wife so the two of them ended up having a problematic marriage which ended up breaking down.

They divorced in 2012 and he went on to remarry Jane Armour-Chelu. Then sadly, he passed away at the age of 93.
Henry Wilks (Arthur Pentelow) THEN

He then ran the Woolpack pub for almost 20 years with numerous trials and tribulations and long the way, he was an iconic member of the village.

Matt Skilbeck (Frederick Pyne) THEN
(Image Source/Wiki)Matt Skilbeck had a very turbulent time in Beckindale. He married Peggy in 1968 and helped out on the Sugden's farm. The two of them had twins together but his wife died shortly after, and soon after that he lost the twins in a car crash. He then had a series of relationships and ended up re-marrying.

He stepped out of the limelight and instead turned his talents to serving on the Equity Council where he worked for many years and became the organisation's president.

He married his wife Annie and the two of them had a daughter together. The character Sam Pearson ended up dying after an illness related to his former struggle with pneumonia.

(Image Source/Emmerdale)Toke Townley was widely known for typically playing the country bumpkin kind of role, as he did in Emmerdale. He lived a very quiet and private life residing in Leeds close to where they filmed Emmerdale. Sadly, he passed away in his sleep from a heart attack.
