Bald Bear...

The first one on the list is a bald bear! This is a very strange looking one! This picture looks like this particular guy has had to be shaved - maybe for an operation, or to get checked. Whatever the cause, it really does make this powerful beast look very different, doesn't it?
Hairless Horse!

This is one I've never seen before... A newborn horse being born hairless! I can't quite tell if it looks like something out of a horror film or a majestic mythical creature! Either way, such a small difference really can make a big change in the way something looks and this foal proves that!
Naked Wombat...

Definitely one of the cuter hairless animals, this naked wombat looks similar but is not related to the more well-known naked mole rat. Although very cute, these hairless guys can cause some damage! Just look at those claws, you definitely don't want to be caught on the receiving end of one of those!
Hairless Aardvark...

Another very surprisingly cute animal when hairless, and I would even argue without hair these guys are even cuter than with! These guys are very charismatic, and full of personality, even if their name is the South African for "Earth Pig", which maybe isn't so inspiring.
Guinea Pig!

Until now I have never thought that a guinea pig looks French, but when hairless there certainly is something about these guys that resembles a well-experienced and respected French chef... nope? Only me? Well, I still think there's something Parisian about "Monsiour Guinea"!
Bald Baby Monkey...

Certainly, not one that goes under the "hard-to-recognize" category, but nonetheless despite having wrinkles as a baby, this bald baby is in my opinion the cutest of the bald animals. The reason for the lack of hair is just because of how young this cute guy is, and I am sure he'll grow into his hairy skin!
Hairless Hedgehog!

This spikeless hedgehog is definitely one that I would not have recognized if it was not labeled, would you have? This guy certainly looks a little worse for wear without his spikes to wear. I hope he's going to get his insulation back before the winter hits otherwise it could get a bit chilly!
Naked Owl!

Looking like something from outer space, this particular owl has a condition meaning that it doesn't have any feathers! Although I'm sure this guy's used to living like this, I can't help but think he looks very shy and self-conscious! Maybe tell him how good he looks before scrolling to our next friend, to boost his confidence!
Bald Kangaroo...

This little guy as you can see from the human-made pouch, has been abandoned by his mother at birth! I'm not sure why particularly, but I really hope it's not because of its lack of hair! Either way, it looks like a very kind soul is looking after our newest bald baby of the day.
Naked Ferret!

Ferrets are renowned for being cheeky, playful, and a ball of fun. This guy though, just looks straight-up evil! The red eyes really don't help, but I can certainly imagine this guy playing the evil villain in any of the next Hollywood blockbusters. Maybe it's worth getting in touch with the casting director of the next Marvel film!
Bald Bunny...

Another one that I have never come across before, and I can't quite tell if it looks like my grandad or my newborn nephew, either way, I'm left very confused after looking at this photo. I don't think the old grandad mustache in this picture helps the confusion! Anyways, lets hope on to the next one!
Naked Echidna...

I must admit, I didn't know what an Echidna looked like normally without looking it up, so if you're in the same boat as me, they usually have a thick layer of quills to protect them. But for now, they look a little bit like if an animal and a cactus had a child, and it formed this!
Featherless Cockatoo!

This poor guy has lost all his feathers! This is caused by a rare condition that makes these beautiful birds lose their feathers! Usually full of character, and joy let's hope that the condition doesn't make them lose their mojo as well because these beauties are usually so full of life!
Naked Mole-Rat...

Probably one of the most famous in our list of hairless friends, these guys are very content without any fur... I'm not sure if you picked that up from the picture? One of my very first memories of one of these guys is from Kim Possible back in the day... just me? Well look it up it's a classic!
Hairless Squirrel!

This funny-looking furless friend is another hairless squirrel! Although he's really mostly hairless, I'm thinking this may actually be a fashion statement by this guy! Maybe inspired by an 80's mullet, this guys left it long on the back (tail), pretty normal at the front (head) and shaved the sides!
Featherless Penguin!

Another featherless baby, out of all our un-furred friends today I think this little baby penguin wins the prize for the coldest. Usually able to hide under their parents until they have enough feathers to come out, this little guy looks like he's maybe come out a bit prematurely and could be suffering the cold a bit!
Naked Chicken...

Running around like a... featherless chicken it seems! This rooster has somehow had all the feathers plucked out of him, and even though I see chickens literally all the time, I'm still somehow a bit surprised at te way this one looks! Not so majestic without his fancy feathers is he!
Bald Baboon!

This poor guy is a baboon with alopecia! Another one that really looks quite worse for wear without his fur or hair... I am sure that even though it does look very uncomfortable, this poor baboon does not feel any pain or suffer in any way without their fur!
Naked Chimpanzee...

Another alopecia sufferer, although this time a chimpanzee! This is one that really is quite unrecognizable! But this is a chimp! Without their fur, you can really see how they manage to hang and swing about... Just look at those muscles, you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of this powerful ape!
Naked Warthog...

Hakuna MaWHATa... Ok, I admit it, not my best, but either way, this is what our much-adored friend from Lion King would have looked like without fur! Although not a huge difference, Pumba here certainly looks a little less majestic without his luscious main!
Bald Rat!

Whether you are usually a fan of rats, mice, and rodents, I think we can all agree that somehow, they are even worse looking without their hair! I know at the best of times if I saw a rat sneaking around I'd probably jump, but if I saw this guy I think that would be taken to a whole new level!
Sphinx Cat...

OK, sure, maybe not one that you won't recognize, but somehow these guys still freak me out, no matter how many times I see them! Although they look extremely sinister, they do apparently make great pets, and are very loving! These guys were even worshipped by the ancient Egyptians!
Naked Hamster!

Now, even though "naked hamster" sounds like the adult version of chubby bunnies, these tiny little friends are super cute even without their fur. Without their fur, you can really see how emphasised their cheeks are! I'm sure some of you have a granny or two that would love to squeeze those cheeks...
Hairless Dog!

Now, most of us will have seen the hairless sphinx cat before, but have you ever seen a hairless dog? This guy is a very rare Peruvian breed which is bread specifically to not have hair! The reason why... well your guess is as good as mine, either way, this guy is a cutie, with or without hair!
Naked Black Bear...

Image Source: TH fund for animals wildlife center
So... I guess this guy is now a pink bear? Maybe not, but this black bear unfortunately is very sick! Hence the lack of hair, but also why he looks so skinny! Although it is super sad, it is also very interesting to get an insight into what they look like underneath that thick layer of insulation!
Bald Sand Puppy!

Now of all the words used so far to describe our furless friends, I think cute and cuddly might not quite fit this one... I think something more fitting would be... something from my nightmares? Mostly living underground, I think this is what they based the villain at the end of the Incredibles movie on!
Bald Racoon...

Although raccoons look very cute, if you have ever watched Will Ferrel's "Elf" you'd know that they do not like to be hugged. Anyways, I think that this hairless guy could do with a hug, and it looks like his friend does as well! This is one I certainly would not have recognized!
Bald Squirrel...

Unlike our funky mullet squirrel before, this guy has gone for a full shave! Maybe he started receding and it was unsavable? Or maybe he was trying something new out and it didn't quite work... we've all been there. Either way, this guy goes to show that without their fur squirrels really aren't as cute!
Naked Deer!

What did the man's wife say to him when he left the house and forgot to put on clothes... "You're naked deer!" Again, not quite my best work, but I'm here all week folks. This poor deer doesn't quite look herself without her hair though does she? I hope she doesn't feel as lonely as she looks in this photo though!
Bald Possum...

This bald possum! Like a few of our other hairless animals, this could be something out of the 1979 Ridley Scott classic "Alien". Looking very aggressive in this photo, this poor possum is probably terrified for her life and anxious as anything after losing her hair - poor thing!
Hairless Anteater
Did you know that anteaters can actually be born without hair and stay that way for the rest of their lives? This pair were born without any hair, but their skin still developed those little spikes! We wonder if having no hair makes you less effective at eating ants...
Hairless Caterpillar!
Not only was this caterpillar produced without any hair, but it's also a rare albino caterpillar! So it got the raw end - quite literally without any hair - of the deal twice. It still looks really unique though, and not as weird as some of the animals on this list!
What Animals Look Like Without Their Recognizable Patterns! Giraffe
This just proves that it's not the hair but the patterns that some animals need to look less than weird! A giraffe is most notable for that amazing brown pattern it has on its hair, and we don't know if that long, long neck has the same effect without the square patterns!
Panda
This is basically what most people who wear glasses all the time look like when they take them off. Who know that a tiny black ring around the eyes could make a panda look completely different without changing anything else? Also means you can't say 'panda eyes' anymore when your mascara's run!
Zebra

Okay so we know 'when you hear hooves you think horse and not zebra' and all of that, and we know they're going to look pretty much the same without stripes, but it's still weird to see a zebra looking like a stunning white stallion! Zebras are too unique to take away those stripes!
Tiger
Just like you can't take away a zebra's stripes, tigers are too beautiful to take away theirs, too! It's what differentiates them from all the other big cats, so what are we left with? This! It looks like a mountain lion wearing a mutton chop disguise. At least it still sort of has stripes around its snout though.
Peacock
Now we know that the most beautiful and unique thing about a peacock is those stunning feather patterns and colors. Even an albino peacock has a strange beauty about it. But take away a peacock's beautiful pattern and you're left with sort of dried grass looking plumage.
Cow
Cows come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors, and we know that you can get brown or black cows without any patterns at all. But the black and white dairy cows are iconic for their patterned coats, so what do they look like without them? A pure white albino cow!
Duck
Think what you like about ducks, whether you love them for feeding or hate them because they want your food, you can't deny they have really interesting coats and beautiful colors on certain breeds. So without that pattern, they're just white albino ducks that want your bread.
Cheetah
If you take away a cheetah's spots then it looks pretty much like a mountain lion - but what a mountain lion could never hope to be is as fast as a cheetah! Maybe it could be a new camo mechanism so its prey doesn't think it's actually as fast as it is... Could work.
Penguin
Penguins are really cute and recognisable for that little patch of orange and black on their coats. Seeing a completely white penguin might actually be the best camouflage ever for penguins chilling near ice and snow, but for our eyes, I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't like it!
Badger
It's funny how all the black and white animals are the ones that look the weirdest when all their patterns have been taken away! A badger has that really recognisable stripy pattern on its face, so take that away and you have a face you definitely wouldn't spot on a dark night.
Bald Eagle
This basically looks like a middle aged person after their greys have come through and they've just visited the salon for a dye job. It takes away what makes the bald eagle so recognisable and makes it look like a golden eagle or a falcon. That's not what we want!
Okapi
Okapis are adorable for those really unique stripes on their back legs and part of their front legs. A little different than a zebra pattern for the lines being a little smaller and closer together, it's really an amazing coat design! Take it away and we're left with this!
Lemur
Okay, so the lemur doesn't look that much different, but it's an absolute travesty to take away that gloriously stripy tail! That's when you know you've spotted a lemur when you can see those tail stripes, so this could easily be mistaken for another animal from a distance!
Scarlet Macaw
Sure, you might think the Scarlet Macaw with all red feathers makes complete sense and that the name was misleading in the first place - but we all know this bird looks stunning with that colorful plummage! It's definitely how we recognise a macaw, but at least with the patterns taken away it still looks beautiful and not weird!
Raccoon
All these photos have taught us is that animals with small beady black eyes definitely need those patterns around them to not look creepy (we're looking at you tiny eyed Panda!). And a raccoon is over here just proving that fact. Sure, it looks kinda cute, but at what cost?
Woodpecker
The woodpecker is so recognisable for that bright red plummage on its head. Without it, it just looks like any other bird! And where's the fun in that? We can still recognize it if it decides to start drilling against some wood, but really, without the red Mohawk it's just not as fun.
Chameleon
Okay, can we really judge this one when chameleons can change their colors and patterns anyway? But its Resting Pattern Face is always still really beautiful to look at with the brown and green swirls. The plain green without the pattern just looks too weird for my liking.
Red Panda
Oh no, the red panda is proving that any type of panda looks weird without the patterns around those little black eyes! The red panda is iconic for that rusty red fur paired with those bright white patches, so it just looks plain odd without that white fur around its face!
