TV Shows You Need To Watch Before You Die

Queens Gambit

First up on our list is Queens Gambit. The show follows young chess prodigy, Elizabeth Harmon, who is perfectly portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy. She has a distinct power that helps her learn the game and eventually master it. The show follows her struggles as an orphan and as a woman who is trying to make it to the top in the 60's.

Prison Break

Prison Break is a top cult classic. The show focusses on two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. Michael incriminates himself to break his brother out of prison for being wrongly accused. The first show of its kind leaves out no detail in this subject. Gripping, funny, and just amazing, worth the watch.

Squid Game

A more recent show on our list, Squid Game is a South Korean produced show for Netflix. The idea of the show is that people who are in massive debt enter, and they have to play 7 different kids games, but it's last man standing and whoever survives wins. VERY graphic but absolutely incredible.

Outer Banks

Another recent to our list, and another produced by Netflix. Outer Banks follows a young group of people known as The Pogues. The ring leader is on the hunt for treasure on an old pirate ship which sunk. There is love, grief, and action. Although it may sound like a treasure hunt show, it is so much more, we would recommend to anyone to watch Outer Banks.

The Last Of Us

A lot of people may know The Last Of Us as a game. However, recently HBO remade it into a show, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The show perfectly replicates the games story of a fungal infection that spreads throughout the world leading to a brutal apocalypse. Utterly heartbreaking but absolutely gripping.

Breaking Bad

Arguably the best TV show of all time, Breaking Bad follows a high school science teacher who discovers he has cancer. In order to set his family up for when he leaves he wants to make as much money as possible. He decides to break bad and starts to cook highly illegal substances with the help from an ex student.

Game Of Thrones

Probably the most well known on our list, is Game Of Thrones, a very long and confusing show, although famously let down in the final season. The show is probably the most graphic on our list and isn't for the faint hearted. An incredible watch but again, it's very long so be prepared.

Friends

We couldn't make a best TV shows list without including this absolute classic. Friends, follows the lives of a group of 6 friends, they need no introduction. There's no real story line to this show but it just follows the group making their way through life in late 90's New York. No matter what happens, they know they still have each other. Absolutely hilarious for ever comforting.

Narcos

A show loosely based off of a true story, this show follows two police officers following and trying to track down dr*glord, Pablo Escobar. Set in the depths of Colombia. As you can imagine this show is very graphic, so watch at your own risk. Not for the faint hearted either.

Peaky Blinders

Set in the early 1900's in Birmingham UK, we get to follow notorious gang, The Peaky Blinders, led by the terrifying boss Tommy Shelby, who is expertly played by Cillian Murphy. Tears, Grief, Comedy, are all aspects of this great show. A real blockbuster.

Fleabag

This comedy series is a take on a play. It follows a woman who is trying to cope with the general struggles of life whilst living in London. It is absolutely hilarious but the next scene could reduce you to tears. 10/10 from us. Absolutely worth the watch.

Stranger Things

If you are into sci-fi then this show is right up your street. The show is essentially based around the disappearance of a boy, whose mother, friends and police help to track down and find. However they run into the most unusual things yet, guess you could say, stranger things?

The Boys

The Boys is EXTREMELY graphic, just a warning. It trails a group of vigilantes who set out to bring down an organisation of corrupt superheroes who aren't actual super at all. It is hilarious but also extremely violent and some scenes are quite distressing, but you won't regret watching it.

The Crown

The Crown, is quite a controversial show, it depicts the lives of THE royal family, and the political controversies they faced ever since Queen Elizabeth II's reign began. Leaving no holds barred, the show really goes into detail with the families personal lives.

Sons Of Anarchy

Sons Of Anarchy is a classic show about a criminal motorcycle gang. Jackson 'Tax' Teller, who is played by Charlie Hunnam. He faces the struggles of balancing life between friend, father, and gang member. While trying to live their lives they constantly run into problems with rival gangs.

Suits

Whilst trying to escape a life of dr*gs and crime, Mike finds himself on the run from a corrupt dr*g deal only to bump into Harvey Specter who is New Yorks best lawyer. Harvey quickly realises Mike isn't just a junkie, he is a brilliant genius who actually passed the BAR. With arguably the best pilot of all time this show is a must watch.

Orange Is The New Black

Piper Chapman who is the main character in this show, is an ordinary woman living her life until a 10 year old crime finally catches up to her. She fines herself sentenced to prison where she re meets her ex-girlfriend in which she committed the crime with. Easy to watch and funny this has to go in our list.

Money Heist

This Spanish show is incredible. It's about a dysfunctional group of criminals who aim to commit the ultimate crime, robbing 2.4 billion euros from the most protected building in Spain, The Royal Mint. As its a Spanish show it's dubbed in English but when you get used to it its a great watch.

A very creepy show that follows the life of Joe Goldberg. He is an obsessive human who is worryingly charming and will do anything in his power to insert himself in peoples lives. Clearly being an extremely obsessive person, this show actually has you routing for him when you know you shouldn't.

Wednesday

This show follows on from the cult classic, The Addams Family, except this show focusses on Wednesday Addams. Portrayed by Jenna Ortega this show looks into Wednesdays years as a student and tries to master her psychic ability. Whilst hating everyone she meets, because that's just who she is, this show is a must watch.

Black Mirror

This show isn't a continuing show. Each episode is set in a futuristic high tech world. Each episode follows a different story. Some episodes are very weird and graphic and some will leave you sobbing. A great show that really leaves the viewer with something to think about.

Ozark

This show is about a financial advisor, who is forced to move to the Ozarks in order to launder money for one of his big clients, a dr*g boss. When he and his family arrive they realise they do no fit in and run into problems, including locals trying to rob and harass them.

13 Reasons Why

This show is one of the most popular shows ever. Follows Clay Jensen who Is played by the well known Dylan Minnette. Who is on a journey to discover the story of why he crush and friend Hannah, chose to end her life. A seriously disturbing and heart breaking show, it's definitely a must watch. Very binge worthy.

The Sinner

Topping the charts with what could be the most graphic show on our list, is The Sinner. This show depicts the story of Cora Tannetti and how she k*lled a man at the beach. She has no memory of why she committed the crime but there was a factor that triggered a bunch of traumatic memories.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is wild, there are 7 different story lines, but with the same actors. Each depicting certain horrors, Although hard to explain if you like quick horrors with famous actors this show is up your street. Although very creepy and scary we could leave this off of our list.

The Watcher

This show is terrifying. The show follows a married couple with children who finally move into their dream home in the suburbs, only to receive constant letters about being threatened. In the end the show leaves viewers with the impression the couple become so obsessed, they become stalkers themselves with the next tenant.

90210

A modern sequel to the classic, Beverly Hills: 90210, this new show is about a Kansas family who make their dream move to Beverly Hills, where their children and lives become intwined in the dram of Beverly Hills. Nothing scary of thinky this time, this show is just a good watch. With PLENTY of gossip and drama.

Lost

This sci-fi show follows the story of plane crash survivors who land on a deserted island. They need to work together to survive what seems to be a deserted island. The show gets very sci fi so if that's what you are into then it's a must watch. Each episode highlights each characters story and how they got to where they are.

Russian Doll

This mystery drama, we just couldn't leave off of this list. Nadia Vulvokov who is portrayed by the amazing Natasha Lyonne, who lives in New York, and keeps dying, only to find herself being returned to the party in which this accident happened. She's trapped in a loop. A very gripping story line with a great story line.

Normal People

This absolutely heartbreaking show follows the lives of Marianne and Connell. Two unlikely lovers who meet at school and go through life together, but at the same time, distanced. This show highlights love, heartbreak, dependancy and mental health. This show has everything, but will leave you in tears.
