Craziest Pet Peeves Of All Time

1. People who ask you if you have plans before asking you to do something

There is nothing more infuriating than this. People ask you if you have plans so that you say 'no, I'm free, how come?'. You think okay maybe they have a fun idea for us. No, then they ask you to do something you really want to do and now you can't even use the excuse that you're busy, so you're completely trapped into saying yes! At least give people the opportunity to pretend that they have plans...

2. Hearing people breathe

I mean, what do we expect people to do? Breathing is the most basic and necessary life function... and there are people who cannot bare to hear people breathe. It doesn't make sense because it's pretty crazy. Yet the sound of people breathing goes right through some people making their blood boil with irrational anger.

3. When people sneeze in public

Again, it's completely crazy for this to be a pet peeve but...we get it. It's hard not to picture the particles of snot that have just fired out of somebody's mouth travelling around the air at 100 miles an hour. And if you were one of those people who didn't share this pet peeve, we're sorry for changing your mind.

4. Being with someone who has something in their teeth

When you're with someone and they're talking to you with a green herb stuck on their teeth or a strand of meat poking out from between their teeth...it's hard to help it there's something inside us that is just immediately irritated. It's not their fault at all, and if we don't point it out there's nothing they can do. But it doesn't stop it being a crazily irrational pet peeve.

5. Seeing someone run up the stairs on all fours

It's pretty crazy for a pet peeve, yet you can totally see where people are coming from. Bounding up the stairs using your hands...nobody wants to see this. Especially if you're in front of somebody - don't subject them to witnessing this childish display. And if you have to do it (yes, we've all done it) save it for when you're in private, please!

6. When pedestrians wait for the green man despite their being no cars

Come on, this is a crazy pet peeve. These people are taking the necessary safety precautions and playing by the rules - you can't blame them. But, some people have this crazy pet peeve where they can't help but feel infuriated by people waiting at the side of a clear road.

7. Having your umbrella blow inside out

There's nothing more undignified that walking along with your umbrella when the wind starts blowing and it turns your umbrella completely inside out. Look, it's hard enough trying to look chic with a contraption being help over your head, when it's inside out it's completely impossible.

8. People regularly update their Facebook status

Okay, so it's a little bit of a niche pet peeve we admit. But again...it's actually completely understandable. No, we don's want to know that you're making tea, we definitely don't need an update to tell us you're eating it, and we absolutely don't want an update picture of your empty plate! Even the constant holiday pics...keep it to yourself.

9. Seeing people carry a pencil case

Yes, some people actually have a pet peeve against people who carry a pencil case. Or, should be say anybody whose graduated school. I mean, again rocking up to the office with a pencil case definitely does office class nerd. But then again, it is organized!

10. Topless gym selfies

Okay, so we can all get on board with this one. Whether you've been scrolling a dating site or you're just minding your business, scrolling on social media you've probbaly come across at least 20 topless gym selfies in the past half an hour. We don't want to see you sweat thanks!

11. Tripping up in public

It's a crazy pet peeve because there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. But it's one of those public fears we all have...'what If I trip'. There's something that is just totally undignified and embarrassing about tripping up. There's no way to salvage it, and pretending it didn't happen and doing the quick look around is the worst way of all.

12. People who yawn loud!

Sorry, am I boring you? There's no need for the dramatics, we don't need the sound effects. A yawn is totally easy to discreetly cover. There's nothing you can do about yawning, but it's the level of loudness that comes along with it for some people which is just totally annoying!

13. Those people who do a baby voice

Ew, no no no. On no planet should it be acceptable for anybody above the age of 6 to do a baby voice. If you're an adult who does this...you need to think again for the sake of everybody around you who may hear it and will undoubtedly be filled with an inexplicable mix of nausea and irritation.

14. The people who pretend they're on the way, when they're not

You're going to be late, just tell me rather than pretending 'you're on the way' so that I'm sat there waiting. If people were honest, then people wouldn't be stood standing like a lemon with nothing to do. They could occupy themself knowing that you were actually running late which would be WAY less annoying!

15. Using astrology to explain your personality

I was grumpy because I'm a Leo and Leo's find it hard to talk things through. Erm, no. You can't use astrology to justify you being a jerk. This may sound like a crazy pet peeve for some. But, when people use it to explain away their behaviour, we totally understand.

16. 'Let's just split the bill', when they ordered more

'Let's just split the bill' they say. Oh, thanks, sure let's split the bill so that I can pay for your steak and margarita cocktail when all I got was the grilled cheese and tap water. It's even more annoying when they propose it as though they're doing YOU a favor when actually you're paying $20 dollars extra.

17. The way hair sticks to you after a shower

It's a randomly crazy pet peeve because there's nothing you can do about it and it makes sense that some hair falls out in the shower. But, why is there SO much hair in the shower, and why are we picking strands of hair from the most random parts of our body from the shower? Where does it all come from?

18. When your friend sees your social media post and doesn't like it

Ah, the dramas of social media. It sounds completely ridiculous and it's totally crazy that it's actually a pet peeve for some people. Yet, a lot of us can't help it. When your friend who didn't like your post says 'oh yeah, I saw that', and you think, oh yeah did you, well thanks for the like!

19. People who do typos in their emails

There's just something about receiving an email with a typo in that some people find infuriating. It might seem crazy, because nobody's perfect and typos are very easy to make. Yet it really annoys some people and makes them question whether this person actually spent any time on their email or even bothered to read it through again.

20. People giving unsolicited advice

It's crazy because people mean well. But also it's like...could you not just keep your opinion to yourself and if I WANT advice I will ask for it. No one wants to hear advice that they didn't ask for . So people should just stay out of matters until they are asked for their opinion.

21. People who speak to you with headphones on

It shouldn't be a pet peeve, because people are just being nice and sociable and you should just take your earphones out of your ears, be nice, and interact, But...could you not? My earphones are in for EXACTLY this reason because I don't want to speak to anybody right now.

22. People leaving things in the sink to 'soak'

It actually does kinda work, because the stubborn stains do stick to the sides of pots and pans and it comes off easier after a while. But, really? We're going to leave all of those dirty things sitting stewing in the sink? No thank you, not on my watch!

23. People who agree with everything and everyone

So, it's a crazy pet peeve because these people are just trying to please everyone and they don't want to cause any controversy. Yet there's something completely annoying about someone who doesn't stick to an opinion of their own. When they're with you they are agreeing with your opinion until they speak to somebody else who thinks the opposite and they seem to agree with them too!

24. When someone's mic doesn't work on a video call

Okay what is it about this that is so irritating? It's not their fault so it's crazy that this is a pet peeve. Yet when someone's voice keeps going loud and quiet and randomly cutting off and then interrupting, you really can sympathize with the people who find this a huge pet peeve.

25. People who stand too closely

There's just those people who stand that little bit too closely and they clearly just don't realize the rules of personal space. It's not like they're completely in your face but they're just that little bit too close to be comfortable. You're so close feel like you can't look in their eye without feeling like you're staring.

26. People who do everything slowly

Here's another crazy pet peeve because people should totally be allowed to take their time and do everything at their own pace. But it's annoying, right? Whether you're in a queue and they're taking their sweet time to pack their bag or they're walking along the road and you're having to dodge around them - it can be annoying.

27. Seeing somebody clipping their nails

Again, there's no rationality to this because this person (if they're clipping the nails in an appropriate place) is just showing that they have a level of self hygiene and like taking care of themselves. Yet, there's something about seeing someone else do it that is just totally gross.

28. People who laugh too hard at people's jokes

Okay, come one, it really wasn't THAT funny. There's something about a super loud laugh when someone tells a joke that just makes you cringe. It just about earned a silent laugh or an extra puff of air through the nostrils, but to laugh out loud like that is just way too over the top.

29. Being called a pet name by a stranger who is younger than you

Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to be called a pet name such as darling or doll by the person they've just met who is YOUNGER than you. When someone younger than you is calling you darling it intentionally has a completely patronizing feel to it.

30. Running with a backpack on

Whether this is doing it ourselves or having to watch someone else do it (which may even be worse), there's nobody who can like this or even not mind doing this. It just feels completely humiliating the way the back pack bounces over enthusiastically when you start to jog.
