Regularly cleaning your ears might seem a little gross but it is so important that you take some time to clean the outer part of your ears with a soft and gentle wet cloth.  But it is important that you don't insert anything into your ears to clean them as there is a risk of damaging them or causing a wax build-up.  If you feel you do have a problem with your inner ears, consult a professional.

Nobody ever wants to do this, and we're sure that the vast majority of people avoid this job altogether but your smartphone can actually harbor harmful germs and bacteria.  And then you use it with your hands all day and even bring it up to your face which can cause breakouts.  So cleaning and disinfecting it is a good habit to start!

17. Using reusable menstrual products

Now some people are a little grossed out by using reusable menstrual products like menstrual cups, period pants, or even cloth menstrual pads.  But if you find one that works for you, you'll probably never look back.  And they're a good habit to keep as they not only look after you, but you're also doing your bit for the environment!

21. Using a handkerchief

It's probably a generational thing but it seems that older people tend to use a cloth handkerchief to blow their nose rather than a disposable tissue (which is probably what the younger generation prefers).  But to be honest, it's a good habit because, although you're essentially carrying around our snot in your sleeve, at least you're doing your bit for the planet in the process!

Take a look at your hairbrush - is it covered with a tangled mess of hair?  Nobody enjoys cleaning their hairbrush but it's a good habit to get into if you want it to work efficiently.  As well as hair brushes and combs can be full of oils and product buildup too which can really give you a bad hair day!

Ear candling helps to remove excess earwax.  It does sound gross but this alternative practice involves placing a hollow cone-shaped candle in the ear and lighting it, creating a vacuum effect that is said to draw out impurities and excess wax from the inner ear.  But go to a professional if you want to take up this habit!

28. Dry shampooing
