1. 'Who stole my clothes?'

It's the classic argument, one of the most recurring and common (unnecessary albeit admittedly annoying) sibling arguments ever. 'You took my things' or 'you stole my clothes' and 'where did you put them' are just everyday phrases in the complex world of sibling relationships.
2. Calling shotgun

Only a sibling could ever know how truly important it is to sit in the front seat. Calling shotgun is a recurring problem because there's always that sibling who calls it first and ends up sitting in the front while the siblings in the back muster up more and more resentment for no real reason.
3. 'You broke my things'

Okay, any sibling will know how truly irritating it is to have one of your brothers or sisters break your things. Accidents don't ring true in the world of a sibling, pointless and blown out-of-proportion arguments, this was purposeful, and this means the start of a feud...
4. 'You always get the remote'

Yes, who gets the remote is another argument for the sake of arguing. But does that mean you'll stop arguing about it? Nope. Does it make it any less annoying when one of your siblings hogs the remote? Absolutely not. The race for the remote is well and truly ON.
5. Sharing food is a no-no!

Whoever tries to tell siblings that 'sharing is caring' is very over-optimistic. In the world of brothers and sisters, the only mentality that goes when it comes to sharing food is Joey Tribbiani's iconic phrase 'Joey doesn't share food'. This is how it goes; if anyone tries to take your portion, they'll be hell to pay.
6. The 'stop leaving the door open' argument

Getting up to close the door isn't hard. Yet as a sibling, you'll know that when your brother or sister comes in your room and leaves the door open it just hits a nerve on a different kind of level. There will absolutely be an unnecessary argument that will stem from this.
7. 'It's MY turn'

'It's MY turn now, you've had a go for the last hour'...does this sound familiar? It's another very common, very unnecessary sibling argument. Turn-taking isn't an art that siblings seem to master. And, even if they do, it will still cause problems and arguments!
8. The 'whose fault is it' debate

There's always that sibling who does admittedly seem to have everything blamed on them. There's the one who is deemed the naughtiest and then there's the sibling that appears angelic (even if they're not). So the whose fault is it argument will continually crop up again and again.
9. Get out of the bathroom!

When you're waiting for your turn, you need to pee, or your just sick of waiting what feels like three hours (even if you know full well it's been 5 minutes) for your turn in the bathroom it feels like a very reasonable argument, despite the fact it is totally unnecessary and calmly asking may work better.
10. Who sits next to who...

The favorite auntie is round, it's time to sit down at the table. Now it's time for an unnecessary argument about who sits next to who. Despite the fact that all of the places are pretty much equidistant, siblings will manage to make who gets the seat closest into a huge argument.
11. Whose room is bigger?

Ah, the 'whose room is a bigger' argument. It's a pity that houses weren't designed to appease all siblings and make all rooms equal to the millimeter. Then again, this probably wouldn't stop the feud because siblings just seem to love having unnecessary arguments.
12. Joining in with a sibling's friends

Every sibling has been in this position, and maybe in both situations. If you're younger you'll have undoubtedly tagged along while your older brother or sister was hanging out with their friends and you'll have been told you are 'annoying, so go away'. If you're older, you'll know how annoying it was trying to be cool with your friends and then you're little sibling is there cramping your style.
13. Making each other laugh in church always ends badly

There's just something about a situation where it is totally inappropriate to laugh, which makes it all the more likely you're going to laugh. Then, once you start sniggering the panic of how much you need to top hits you and you end up in uncontrollable fits of giggles.
14. 'Would you just shut up'

There's never a moment of peace and quiet when you live with a sibling or multiple siblings. Sometimes you just wish you could turn the volume down. When someone is constantly chatting or humming or singing, 'Would you just shut up' feels like the inevitable way to solve it and of course, start unnecessary drama.
15. Taking it in turns for chores

'I washed up last time, it's your turn'. 'I'm not fidgeting hoovering you've not done it in ages'. Wherever there's a household chore, there's potential for an unnecessary argument. It's what siblings do best, particularly when it comes to doing something they don't want to do.
16. Who made the mess

Who made the mess is always a debate. It's never your fault, it wasn't your mess, and even if you know it was you somehow convince yourself that it actually wasn't - it was your sibling. It's their fault it's all so messy and so it is DEFINITELY their job to clean it all up.
16. 'I'm the favorite, no I'M the favorite'

Who is the favorite debate...it will be a historic debate that siblings have. Either, they think they're the favorite, or they carry a lot of anger toward the sibling who they believe is the favorite. In reality, nobody is...but that doesn't stop this unnecessary debate no matter how many times your parents try and clear this up.
18. 'I can't find my...'

When you can't find your possession, your automatic response as a sibling is to jump from 0 to 100 and straight to conclusions. The implication is that your brother or sibling stole it, even if you haven't looked very hard at all and it's sitting right under your nose. This was your sibling's fault.
19. 'Get OUT of my room'

When you're a sibling it can feel very difficult to have personal space or any kind of place of your own. So when your brother or sibling keeps on coming into your room or going in your room when you're not there, without asking, it really does hit a nerve.
20. Taking turns always ends badly

Without an impartial judge, such as a timer, there really is no way for siblings to take turns without it ending in unnecessary drama. It's just something that can't be done because when it's your go time seems to run by, and when it's their go time drags as you wait so things always feel unfair.
21. Competing for attention

Being a sibling means that everybody's attention is divided and navigating that whilst growing up can be difficult. There's always a competition for attention and no matter which sibling you are, you'll feel like the other gets way more attention than you do!
22. Deciding the movie for movie night

Who decides the movie for movie night? 'You decided last time!'...'No, YOU decided last time, now it's my turn'. I mean, what can't siblings argue about? There's not much. And picking a movie is up there on the list of things that don't need to be argued about (but it feels important).
23. When one sibling is praised

There are countless times when siblings have to be praised as individuals, not as siblings. But of course, this doesn't go down well with the other who sits there bubbling with jealousy wondering what they can do next to get the praise instead of their sibling!
24. 'You started it'

The classic end to a sibling fight is never actually the end because after they've fought...then comes the blame game. When an adult asks what is going on and questions why you were fighting, the 'they started it' excuses start to pour out which then launches a new unnecessary argument.
25. The 'who copied who?' argument

When you're younger you try and establish your own sense of identity through your style and what you wear or how you style your hair. So when your sibling starts to copy it, it isn't seen as 'a form of flattery, it's hugely annoying and worthy of a pointless argument.
26. It always boils down to money

From being children siblings argue about picket money and savings and who paid what for which things. When siblings get older it gets even worse. Bigger (but still unnecessary) arguments break out about who is entitled to what and who was given more money.
27. Who got the biggest portion...

It's time to cut the cake, it's all excitement and you can't wait to eat it. The slices are divided and you greedily look at yours ready to dive straight in but before you do, you just glance over to check your sibling's portion to see if you've done better. Oh no, theirs looks slightly bigger...and all hell breaks loose.
28. The latest gadgets

If you are the youngest sibling you'll probably have faced this dilemma more than anyone. You were too young to get gadgets at the same time as your older brother and sister, you had to wait until you were the same age. But then, by the time you get to that age, you may have got given the hand-me-down rather than the brand-new shining gadget!
29. 'It's not fair, they always get their own way'

How many times have you said this and heard this as a sibling? Probably countless. Getting our own way and not thinking something is fair is certainly one of those things that there is absolutely no need to argue about (because it's probably not the case), but we most certainly do it anyway.
30. Getting the comfy spot on the couch

Why does every couch have that one spot that's just way comfier than the others? It's probably where your dad sat and molded the shape so that it was more squishy and comfier than the rest. And if you had siblings this was a reason to argue...who gets the comfy spot!
