J R Ewing is the President and CEO of Ewing Oil. He is ruthless and shrewd, central to many of the biggest storylines. J R is constantly seeking to bring people down and is well known for his many mistresses and affairs. He is involved in the biggest plot in the show's history - who shot J R? Sue Ellen is framed but we later find out that its one of his extra marital mistresses, Kristin Shepard.
Larry Hagman - NOW

Well before Dallas, Larry Hagman, son of the famous actress Mary Martin, made his name when he was cast as the genie in "I Dream of Jeannie." This ran from 1960 to 1970. Some years after Dallas ended, Hagman was in two further Dallas movies, "J R Returns" and "War of the Ewings." He passed away in November 2012 from throat cancer. He's still remembered as one of the most ionic characters on tv.
Bobby Ewing - THEN

Bobby Ewing is the son of Jock Ewing and Ellie Ewing. He is the younger brother of J R but with a completely different personality. He is the roadman for Ewing Oil, has good ethics and is very moral. Bobby is honest and principled, not interested in getting involved in anything illegal. His most famous scene is when he reappears coming out of the shower, a few years after supposedly being dead!
Patrick Duffy - NOW

Patrick Duffy is still a handsome man! He starred in tv films "Falling in Love With the Girl Next Door" and "Desolation Canyon." Duffy played a recurring role in "The Bold and the Beautiful, the daytime soap where his character was called Stephen Logan. He dipped his feet into game show hosting with Bingo America in 2008. His story has a very happy ending. He met actress Linda Purl a couple of years back, 3 years after his wife had passed away from cancer - and they fell head over heels with each other.
Sue Ellen - THEN

One of the main characters, Sue Ellen Ewing is the ex wife of J R Ewing and mom to John Ross Ewing III. They me when she won a beauty pageant and went on to marry. It was not to last because of J R's wandering eye for the ladies and him losing interest in her. To get back at him, she has an affair herself with J R's arch enemy, Cliff Barnes. From then on it's all a bit nasty.
Linda Gray- NOW

Linda Gray appeared with Sylvester Stallone in the 1991 comedy "Oscar." She played Mrs Robinson in the West End theatre production of "The Graduate", where she received rave reviews. Then there was the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful". Linda played Priscilla Kelly. In 2017, she joined the cast of the drama "Hand of God", appearing alongside Ron Perlman and Dana Delany.
Pamela Barnes Ewing - THEN

Pamela Ewing is the sister of Cliff Barnes and ex wife of Bobby Ewing. She is also the senior executive at Barnes-Wentworth Oil. When she was still with Bobby, the Ewing family did not like her as she was the daughter of their enemy, Digger Barnes. There's talk about Pamela being a spy for her brother Cliff and finding out Ewing Oil's secrets and lies.
Victoria Principal - NOW

Victoria Principal wrote three books about skincare, wellbeing and health and became a best-selling author. She went on to star in tv movies such as "Blind Witness", "Mistress" and "Don't Touch My Daughter." She co-produced some of these. Principal returned to soap operas in 2000, this time in NBC's "Titans" which was an Aaron Spelling production. Unfortunately it was short lived.
Cliff Barnes - THEN

Cliff Barnes is a very confrontational character in Dallas and he appears in both the original series and the revival in 2012 to 2014. He makes it his life's dream to bring down ruthless J R but is unsuccessful. As his character evolves, Cliff becomes sinister and very bitter. He gets his sister Pamela Ewing to spy on J R to get any dirt she can so he can be dragged down.
Ken Kercheval - NOW

During the late 1980s Ken Kercheval made many appearances on "Super Password" and "The $25,000 Pyramid". Moving forward, in 2006 he stepped on to the boards in England at Southampton's Mayflower theatre in "White Christmas." He also played Edinburgh Playhouse and Cardiff's Millennium Center as well as The Lowry in Salford Quay, Manchester. Ken sadly passed away in 2019.
Lucy Ewing - THEN

Teenage trouble maker, Lucy Ewing is the daughter of Gary and Valene Ewing and niece of J R and Bobby Ewing and Ray Krebbs. Lucy was born to teenage parents who moved to South Fork but their relationship broke down and they divorced. When the couple leave the ranch, Lucy ends up being raised by Miss Ellie and Jock. They allow her to run wild and Jock spoils her.
Charlene Tilton - NOW

Charlene Tilton appeared with Glenn Ford in 1990 in the western "Border Shootout." The following year she had a supporting role in the successful comedy "Problem Child 2." Tilton was in a number of commercials for workout equipment, the Abdominizer line. She has also been in the end-up comedies "The Silence of the Hams" and "Paranormal Calamity."

Miss Ellie is the mom of J R, Bobby and Gary Ewing. She is the widow of Jock Ewing and her second husband is Clayton Farlow. She is one of the few members of the Ewing clan that sees sense and is able to speak to her family without them being mad at her. Her mind is still sharp and she is able to make important business decisions regarding Ewing Oil.
Barbara Bel Geddes - NOW

Barbara Bel Geddes retired from acting back in 1990, settling in her home in Northeast Harbor, Maine where she worked as a fine artist. She was also the author of two books for children as well as the creator of a well known line of greetings cards. Looking back at her career, she said she always played well bred characters and was never like that in real life. Barbara passed away in 2005, aged 82.

Ray Krebbs is the illegitimate son of Jock Ewing and he has a bit of a wild side. He loves a drink and gets involved in fights. He's always eying up the girls and flirting with them. He often got the girl but never found one that he wanted to settle down with. That was until he met Pam Ewing (Barnes) and he totally fell for her quiet disposition and great, positive spirit.

Howard Keel had been a very successful singer before he starred in Dallas. After the show ended, his music popularity soared, he gained a new, younger fan base and he released several albums. These included "With Love" and "And I Love You So." Keel was a huge charity supporter, raising lots of money for both adult and children's charities. Howard Keel died in 2004, aged 85.

Jenna is married to Ray Krebbs and is the mother of Charlotte Wade and Lucas Krebbs. She had been Bobby Ewing's first love but left him at the altar. She gets back with him but goes to jail, charged with killing Renaldo after he kidnapped Charlotte. Bobby finds a way to prove that she is innocent. After Bobby "dies", she hooks up with Jack Ewing but realises she is pregnant with Bobby's child. Confusing!

Jack Ewing turned up in Dallas to help his cousins J R and Bobby stop Jamie Ewing and Cliff Barnes from splitting up Ewing Oil. This was because Jaime had a document that stated Jock Ewing, Digger Barnes and Jason Ewing had equally split the company equally between them back in the 1930s. Jack Ewing appeared in 51 episodes of the original series.

Jim Davies very sadly passed away aged 72 in 1981. He died from complications from an undisclosed illness when season four was in the middle of being aired. A decision had already been put in place, before it happened, that Jim's role would not be recast and his name and photograph was kept in the opening credits for the rest of the series. Very respectful.
Donna Krebbs - THEN

Donna was married to the much older politician Sam Culver. He had been a governor of Texas and also Speaker of the House in the past. Sam had been a friend and business partner of Jock Ewing. Donna was ambitious, intelligent and well regarded throughout Texas. During her marriage to Sam, she couldn't resist the charms of Ray Krebbs and she began an affair with him.
Susan Howard - NOW

Since Susan Howard left television she has become a staunch supporter of causes, specifically for gun rights. She has been very active in the leadership of the Texas Republican Party and the National Rifle Association. Howard has been a commissioner of the Texas Park and Wildlife Department and got involved in the NRA after she met Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre at a convention in New Orleans. She never missed her acting days.

Afton Cooper is the sister of Mitch Cooper and girlfriend of Cliff Barnes. Before she became involved with Cliff, she had been J R.s mistress. Afton had showed up for Mitch's wedding to Lucy and threw herself at J R, ending up sleeping with him upstairs while the wedding reception was going on. After J R had tired of her, she moved on to Cliff but they didn't last the course.
Audrey Landers - NOW

In 1996 Audrey Landers wrote the script for "The Huggabug Club" and also penned over 250 songs for the series. Her mom, who was her business partner, produced the series. Audrey launched a fashion line called Landers STAR Collection which is mainly sold on QVC. The talented woman has directed music videos and still performs at concerts where she showcases her music.

The judge at the divorce hearing granted her an entitlement of 50% of Jack's future income, which meant she would have a share in Ewing Oil. She played the lead in the television film "Mystery Woman: Game Time" and "Anna's Storm." Wilson was in the Neil Simon Film Festival's production of "Driving Miss Daily" from 2016 to 2022. She played opposite Clarence Gilyard.
