Essential Items All Women Should Pack In Their Cosmetic Bag

1. Concealer

Is it the dark under-eye circles that develop throughout the day as we get tired, or is it just our concealer rubbing off? Honestly, we don't know, but we do know that it's essential for our cosmetic bag. And we've all been there when a few hours into the day a huge pimple emerged on our face - great, just what we needed! But at least we have concealer!

2. Powder

If you can make it through a full working or busy day without developing a sheen (or huge sweat) over your entire face then let us into your secrets. Otherwise, for the rest of us, we need powder to control it. And, we could just call it a 'glowy' look. But in reality, having face powder in our bag would help a lot.

3. Eyebrow gel

If you've heard of the phrase, our eyebrows are 'sisters and not twins' then you're probably like us, who have eyebrows that like to do entirely different things. And no matter how much you layer up the eyebrow gel to keep them looking somewhat similar, by the end of a day, one is sticking up and the other's drooping down so it's best to be able to run a quick fresh swipe over them.

4. Vaseline

We all need Vaseline in our cosmetic bags. It's a simple staple that you should carry always but especially in the winter when our skin starts to crack and get dry. The feeling of crusty chapped lips is horrible, and the look is equally as distasteful!

5. A makeup sponge

You know those mornings when you're rushing your makeup and it's still slightly dark or the lighting's not the best? Then, you get outside and you see the huge blob of orange-tinted foundation that's not been blended in. If you have a sponge you can save yourself a lot of embarrassment.

Blush just makes us look so much more fresh and awake...and if you're anything like us you need something that can help you look revived day to day. Plus, who knows who you're going to see throughout the day? Wouldn't it be great to give yourself a rosy glow before bumping into your hot neighbor in the grocery store?

7. Sunscreen

Sunscreen can help protect us from skin cancer and from skin damage which can cause wrinkles and blemishes. We should really be wearing sunscreen on our faces especially, every single day, even when we don't think it's sunny. So keep it in your bag to replenish, or in case you forget.

8. Q-tips

Q-tips are one of those things that can help solve a lot of make-up mishaps. For example, if your mascara runs down your eye slightly a Q-tip just helps to remove it from your eye without messing up the rest of your face. It manages to neatly remove the unwanted mess, whilst helping the rest of the makeup stay intact!

9. Face mask

Look, you never know when you'll need a facemask. And you're probably thinking, why would I need a facemask for day-to-day life? You can't exactly just put a face mask on in the middle of the office or a shopping center. But you may find yourself on a plane, or waiting in an empty office or in a hotel and if you keep it in your bag, you'll have one at the ready!

10. Makeup remover wipes

As women, we all know how gross the feeling is when we want to remove our makeup and we can't. When your plans change and you don't go home, your makeup starts to irritate your face. And, nobody wants to sleep in a  full face of old makeup! So always keep wipes in your bag.

Just imagine this (we've all been in a similar situation) you're about to go for an important meeting or a date with the guy you like and you look in the mirror and see a glaring long hair poking out at a random place on your face, or a nose hair that got too long, or an eyebrow hair you forgot to remove. You can try and grasp at it with your fingers all you like, but you need a pair of tweezers in your bag!

12. An eye-liner

An eyeliner can be perfect to spruce up your look. You know if you go out for some after-work drinks or don't get the chance to go home and you want to look a little bit more of a 'glam' look, an eyeliner can make all the difference. Add a little wing and suddenly you've gone from a day-to-night look in one swipe.

13. Bronzer

Bronzer can make such a difference to your face or your makeup look. It gives you that healthy, holiday glow. Even if you've not been anywhere! But you might find that it dulls or seems to rub off throughout the day so it's always good to have some in your bag in case you want to reapply!

A quick lick of lip gloss and you already look like you've made an effort. Just a tiny bit of lip gloss can really help. Plus, it's easier to work and apply than lipstick and takes much less time. And, if it smudges it's much easier to get off again. It also hydrates your lips so it's a win-win.

A compact mirror, of course this is an absolute essential in our cosmetic bag., It's always good to know what you look like in case there's something on your face or some makeup has gone awry. Plus, nobody can (or at least, nobody SHOULD) apply lip liner to their face without looking.

The reason you might want an eye shadow stick instead of a palette is because it's quick and easy and takes no effort or skill to place it nicely on your eyelid. This means that if you take your cosmetic bag traveling around with you it's super easy and quick!

Everyone needs a mascara in their cosmetic bag. Mascara is one of those makeup products which is an all-time staple. It opens your eyes, makes them look so much bigger, and just makes them pop. So of course, we always need a mascara with us...it makes such a difference!

You don't necessarily need a makeup brush for each product, that can be difficult if you want to fit it in your cosmetic bag and you don't want an entire suitcase. But at least one brush is important for the products that can't be applied by hand. Or, use the one brush for everything!

Foundation is a must, it's the base of any makeup look unless you've been blessed with perfect, blemish-free skin then go ahead and skip this. Most us us like to use a foundation just to even out our skin tone and help us look a little but smoother and blemish-free!

When you have removed your makeup with a wipe or a cotton pad you know there's so much more grime built up in your skin that you haven't managed to get off. That's why you need a cleaner to actually clean your face. Plus, it will help reduce the likelihood of breaking out due to dirt on your face!

Moisturiser is an absolute essential in our cosmetic bag. Nobody wants dry and flaky skin. And if you're going to put makeup on, putting it on top of hydrated, smooth skin looks a lot better than the alternative. Always keep your face moisturized, it helps prevent wrinkles too!

22. Deodorant

It's totally normal to start smelling a little bit sweaty and funky after being busy. But it's not always possible to jump straight in the shower when this happens, so a spray of deodorant can help the people next to you not feel as though they need to keep a safe distance between you to avoid the smell.

Long fingernails...fine. But long toenails are a huge no-no in any case. So always keep a set of nail clippers or small scissors in your cosmetic case to keep on top of your fingernails. Plus they're always handy if you accidentally rip a nail and need to smooth down the edges!

When you set out with your hair down it's not long before you get that strong urge to just shove it up into a hair tie and get it off your face. There's something about getting all of your hair on top of your head that makes you breathe a sigh of relief 'Ahhh', no more hair in my face.

Perfume can keep us smelling not just fresh, but elegant. A quick spritz of perfume and we instantly smell appealing again. The smell is one of the first things you notice about someone. So, if someone smells good you are scientifically, instantly more attracted to them!

But it helps our lipstick stay on longer and it helps it to look neater too. It also takes up no room in your bag, but can really make a difference to the look!

Dry shampoo can really save us so much time and effort. Nobody wants to wash their hair every single day, it's actually super damaging for your hair too! And equally, nobody wants to be seen with super oily hair. But with a sort of dry shampoo, nobody can even tell! It's also perfect after a gym session.

It's the thing that really sets off the makeup look, the finishing piece to tie it all together. Just put a little on your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, and under your eyebrows...voila.
