Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Make Their Red Carpet Debut as a Couple – Photos

Just months after his divorce was finalized, Hollywood heartthrob Hugh Jackman has wasted no time stepping out with a new leading lady — and fans are in absolute disbelief over who it is.

After nearly three decades of marriage, Jackman finalized his painful split from Deborra-Lee Furness in June 2025 — and now, he's parading a new romance with Sutton Foster in front of the cameras. Their cozy red carpet moment sent shockwaves across social media and stirred up a frenzy of both praise and scathing criticism.

On June 24, 2025, People confirmed that Jackman and his former wife, Furness, had officially finalized their divorce. Court documents filed in the New York Suffolk County Supreme Court revealed a judgment of divorce was entered on June 12, with the case marked as "Disposed" once documents were uploaded on June 23.

This came nearly two years after the pair had announced the gut-wrenching end of their 27-year union. In a joint statement back in September 2023, they declared they were parting ways to "pursue our individual growth."

According to the Daily Mail, Furness filed for divorce on May 23, 2025, and all matters were settled privately — a clean break, on paper at least.

Now, with the dust finally settled, Jackman is making headlines again — this time, not for heartbreak, but for a new flame.

On October 26, 2025, at the AFI Fest premiere of his film "Song Sung Blue," the 57-year-old actor stepped onto the red carpet with Sutton Foster, 50, by his side. It marked their very first public appearance as a couple.

The pair were the picture of elegance and intimacy, wrapped around each other as cameras flashed at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. Jackman looked sharp in a classic black suit and tie, while Foster stunned in a low-cut black satin dress and matching clutch — glowing beside her new man.

The couple's surprise debut immediately ignited a social media storm. On Facebook, fans didn't hold back, with one saying, "I think things happen in a marriage maybe they had nothing in common in the end not all marriages last. He looks much happier with Sutton [sic]." Another added, "They have the same face. Never realized that before."

But not all reactions were kind. "I thought it was his daughter!" one commenter gasped. Another slammed the pairing, "Sad sad sad on every level he looks like her father [sic]." And yet another piled on, "They look alike."

Over on Instagram, the commentary continued. "He looks so much more relaxed and less like he's in trouble all the time like he did before. I like her for him," wrote one netizen. Others weren't convinced. "they [sic] look like siblings," pointed out one netizen. Another echoed the same sentiment, "They look like brother & sister."

While Jackman basks in the glow of new romance, Furness finally broke her silence — and her words were nothing short of heartbreaking.

In a May 28, 2025, statement shared with the Daily Mail, the 69-year-old actress laid bare her emotions. "My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal," she revealed. "It's a profound wound that cuts deep... I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us."

She added, "This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose."

"It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom," concluded the "Correlli" alum.

As Furness grieved, Jackman and Foster's relationship only gained more public traction. Nearly nine months after being spotted holding hands in Los Angeles, the couple appeared again on October 20, 2025, at the Fetch Pet Gala in New York City.

Dressed to the nines — Jackman in black, Foster in a black velvet gown — the two smiled for photos and shared tender moments at their table in The Carlyle hotel.

The very next night, October 21, the duo attended Richard Marx's "After Hours Confessions" show at Café Carlyle, where they posed with Marx and his wife, Daisy Fuentes. Jackman, in a crisp blue suit, and Foster, in a long-sleeve white knit dress, stood arm-in-arm for the camera.

But long before the red carpet reveal, the couple already had fans buzzing. Back in January 2025, during a casual night out at an In-N-Out drive-thru in Los Angeles, the two were photographed kissing in line — a moment that sparked a new wave of speculation.

Jackman looked relaxed in a khaki outfit, while Foster wore an oversized shirt and sweatpants. As they exchanged kisses outside the car, fans zeroed in — not just on the PDA, but on Foster's appearance.

"Is she pregnant?" one person asked. Another echoed, "Is she...👶🏻?" And the boldest of all was, "I'm calling it. She's pregnant."

Others were far more critical."What is she wearing?!" asked one. "She looks like she's older than his ex," commented another. "He looks happy!" noted another netizen.

Despite the headlines, Jackman and Foster share a deeper connection — one rooted in loss, struggle, and adoption.

Jackman has been candid about the pain he and Furness endured trying to conceive. "It was painful," he admitted. "It's not easy... You put a lot of time and effort into it, so it's emotional." He continued, "Trying to have children is wonderful and when you feel as though that's not going to happen, there's a certain anxiety that goes with it."

After multiple rounds of IVF and miscarriages, the couple turned to adoption — and never looked back. "We feel things happened the way they are meant to," Jackman said."Everyone's in the right place with the right people." He and Deborra-Lee Furness are proud parents to Oscar and Ava.

Jackman gushed about his kids, "I don't think of them as adopted – they're our children. Deb and I are believers in … I suppose you could call it destiny. We feel things happened the way they are meant to." He expounded, "Everyone's in the right place with the right people. It sounds airy-fairy, but it's something we feel very deeply."

Foster, too, knows the heartbreak of infertility. She and ex-husband Ted Griffin went through IVF, but eventually turned to adoption — welcoming daughter Emily Dale in 2017.

Reflecting on the journey, Foster said, "We had all these roadblocks, but as soon as we started pursuing adoption, it was like the roadblocks were going away... Our daughter was cannonballing towards us."

"It's overwhelmingly beautiful. It's overwhelming love for this little human. And I'm so excited that her story is now my story, and it's really been a beautiful addition to my life," gushed Foster, who formed a deep bond with her child's birth mother.

Now, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster — both veterans of heartbreak, healing, and parenthood through adoption — are stepping boldly into the future.

Though their union remains in its early stages, their high-profile appearances, affectionate body language, and shared life experiences have only deepened public interest. From heartache to healing, Jackman and Foster appear ready to rewrite their stories — together.
