What was meant to be a tranquil, autumnal Instagram post quickly devolved into a commentary about the film producer's face, and netizens didn't hold back.

On October 26, 2025, Trudie Styler, the longtime wife of musician Sting, shared a warm, earthy carousel of photos capturing their serene day outdoors. But the first image was a cozy selfie of the smiling couple that quickly ignited a frenzy of speculation, judgment, and fierce defenses, all centered on Styler's appearance.

In the photo, Sting wore a black knit beanie and a charcoal gray jacket layered over a crew-neck sweater, while Styler bundled up in a dark blue beanie, a beige tweed coat, and an olive-toned scarf. It was a picture of comfort and harmony. She captioned it, "Day off amongst trees of gold 🍂 @theofficialsting."

But that's not what people were talking about.

Instead of basking in the beauty of nature or celebrating the couple's enduring love, many commenters zoomed in with laser focus on Styler's face. One blunt comment asked, "My god , how much work had she had done [sic]?"

It wasn't long before people replied to that question, with some defending the 71-year-old and others piling on.

One supporter countered, "She is gorgeous — the most beautiful cheekbones around. I long for beautiful cheekbones." Another agreed, "Yes she has had a lot done by hey everyone to themselves [sic]."

Other replies were harsh. "Lots and still looks Oldish 😲," one Instagrammer wrote. Another piled on with, "Unbelievable, she is all botoxed [sic] up."

Thankfully, not all comments were cruel. Plenty of followers still saw the beauty in the moment and in Styler herself. "So beautiful & the nature too ❤️," one fan commented.

Another offered a lighthearted take, "Sting looks like he just woke up 🙌 good job and your dog is adorable and it looks amazing! Enjoy [sic]." And someone else gushed, "Beautiful nature. Enjoy💯💝."

But this isn't the first time Styler's appearance has come under the spotlight this year. A photo shared by Richard E. Grant on August 20, which featured Styler and Sting, sparked a nearly identical reaction. One netizen asked, "Did she get work done? Because she looks completely different in the second picture.."

Just days before that, Styler had posted a birthday dinner snap with Antonio Banderas. The reaction was equally blunt. "No more nose work..PLEASE [sic]," pleaded one commenter.

And the questions didn't start in August, either. As far back as February, a video Styler posted to celebrate an award for her and Sting's Tuscan olive oil brand triggered a storm of commentary. In that clip, commenters again locked in on her face.

"What happened to your face/lips….give it up and just age gracefully," one person wrote. Another asked, "What happened to her mouth😱?" And one more added, "She needs to stop with the filler 🥴."

But few know that Styler has struggled with self-image, and it dates back to a childhood tragedy. According to a 2014 report from The Telegraph, the film producer was run over by a van at the age of two. The devastating accident required multiple surgeries throughout her youth, including some that involved Botox to help address the scars.

"The scars on the face have always given me a sense that I'm not a very attractive person," she revealed. "I'm always unsure of myself, of my facial self."

She eventually learned to embrace her reflection, thanks in large part to her husband, whom she married in 1992. While Styler didn't confirm or deny cosmetic procedures back then, she made it clear she was open to the idea. But she would make that choice when she was ready.
