Paris Jackson Gets Candid About Living With a Medical Condition She’s Had Since She Was 20
Paris Jackson is breaking her silence on a private health struggle she's carried for years, revealing a long-undiagnosed condition and the personal choice that's kept her from seeking surgery.
Known for her unfiltered honesty, Paris Jackson recently confronted a subject she had long avoided — publicly addressing the medical condition she's been quietly managing since her early twenties, and the reasons she's opted not to pursue treatment.
"I have actually never addressed this. I have what is called a perforated septum," Jackson revealed in a recent video.
A nasal septal perforation is a medical condition marked by an abnormal opening or hole in the nasal septum — the cartilage and bone that separates the two nostrils. This kind of damage typically results from trauma, surgery, infection, or prolonged use of certain nasal medications.
Though the model and singer had previously stayed silent about the condition, fans quickly flooded social media with messages of love and support after her disclosure.
"You are beautiful, stay strong and keep your head high and don’t let anyone else bring you down!" one fan wrote."It shows strength to be so honest about a topic so personal," another supporter added."Keeping moving forward," a third agreed."She is the realist and rawest. Respect to Paris Jackson," a fourth fan praised.
In the video, Jackson didn't dance around the cause of her condition. She addressed the speculation head-on, confirming that the hole in her nose is, in fact, from what people have assumed."Don't do drugs, kids," she said during the recording.
Jackson also shared that she has chosen not to pursue surgery to repair the hole — and her reason is tied to her sobriety. Now six years sober, she explained that undergoing surgery would mean taking medication she'd rather avoid."I've been living with this since I was about 20," she said.
