Mother Gets Terrifying Call From Her 13-Year-Old Son

A heartbroken mother has revealed the gut-wrenching moment her son called in sheer panic while she and her husband could do nothing but listen in horror.

A peaceful Monday evening turned into a living nightmare for one British family when a 13-year-old boy screamed down the phone to his mother that he was being attacked by a masked gang.

Now, the boy's mum, 33, is reliving the chilling moment she received the call that no parent ever wants to get.

It was just after 7:40 p.m. on Monday, November 24, when the teen met two friends outside the Aldi on Lorenzo Drive in Norris Green. But within moments, their ordinary night spiraled into terror.

According to the mum, who has chosen to remain anonymous, three masked youths "armed with knives" approached the boys and demanded their electric bikes. Her son and his friends had two e-bikes between them — and the gang was determined to leave with them.

In an act of desperation, the 13-year-old threw his bike at the gang and ran for his life. But that wasn't the end. The mother revealed:

"One of the lads got on the bike and said, 'Watch when I get you,' and started waving his arms about."

What came next was every parent's worst nightmare. "My son was just shouting down the phone saying someone was trying to stab him," she said. "The worst part of it was, when he was on the phone, [my husband and I] just felt helpless. All we could hear was him breathing, shouting, 'They're trying to stab me.'"

"I honestly thought he was dying while on the phone to me," she shared. Thankfully, her son managed to escape. When the parents finally reached him, he was "shaking." His two friends also escaped unharmed.

The terrified mother later described how the assailants were dressed head-to-toe in black, shrouded in balaclavas and gloves, concealing their faces and identities. But it was their weapons that have left her haunted.

These weren't mere pocketknives — one weapon allegedly had three blades, while another was described as a 12-inch-long blade.

The mum noted that bike robberies have been rising in the area, but "not to this extent where they're really trying to attack the kids." She shared that her son has been "really shaken up," barely leaving the house since the incident.

The night after the attack, there was no peace for the family. Both parents lay awake, paralyzed by the trauma, and missed work the following day. The weight of the night still lingers. The mum said:

"I can't get that phone call out my mind now — I just kept thinking, where's my son? Is he alive?"

Merseyside Police confirmed they are actively investigating the robbery and are urging anyone with information to come forward before another child is targeted.

Detective Inspector Lee Egerton stressed the urgency, stating, "This would have been a terrifying experience for the victims and also for their concerned families. Thankfully no one was hurt, but we are determined to find the three males responsible."

And just as one family grapples with the trauma of a knife-wielding gang targeting their son, another devastating act of youth violence has shaken the nation to its core. This time, gunfire pierced the afternoon air in the middle of a crowded city street.

A quiet Monday afternoon turned into a scene of horror when a 16-year-old boy was gunned down in broad daylight on one of Sheffield's busiest streets. Now, detectives are scrambling to track down whoever pulled the trigger.

Emergency services rushed to London Road near the heart of Sheffield at 5:17 p.m. on Monday, 24 November, after frantic calls reported gunfire in the city centre.

When officers arrived, they found the teen with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was immediately rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition with his family at his side.

As night fell, South Yorkshire Police launched a major response, locking down London Road from the junction at Sitwell Place to Crowther Place. A spokesman confirmed that emergency services remained on the scene overnight, with increased patrols continuing throughout the week.

"We expect disruption to the road network throughout tomorrow morning whilst forensic enquiries continue," read a statement from the force's official website.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and stay clear of the area as detectives combed the street for clues.

Leading the investigation is Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight, who condemned the attack in a powerful statement. "This is a terrible incident that has left a boy fighting for his life [sic]," she said. "I know those in our community will be deeply concerned."

Knight stressed that a dedicated team of officers and staff is now working around the clock to trace those responsible — and issued a direct plea to the public. "This is not acceptable on our streets, so we must work together to stop it," she declared.

Just one week before this shocking incident, another major emergency sent shockwaves through a quiet town — this time, inside a bustling McDonald's.

As we previously reported, a man died following a medical emergency at a McDonald's restaurant in Stafford, England, prompting a major response from emergency services.

According to the West Midlands Ambulance Service, the man was found in a grave condition. Despite receiving advanced life support from ambulance crews and a critical care paramedic, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesperson for the service said:

"We were called to reports of a medical emergency. Crews arrived to find a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support. Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene a short time later."

The exact cause and nature of the medical emergency have not yet been established. However, Staffordshire Police confirmed they received a call regarding a man in cardiac arrest at the fast-food outlet.

A spokesperson for the force said, "We were called at 7:10 p.m. last night to reports of a man in cardiac arrest at McDonald's on Eccleshall Road, Stafford. Sadly, the man died at the scene."

"We are not treating the man's death as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner," they added. Furthermore, witnesses reported being turned away from the restaurant as emergency services worked at the scene.

One customer told news outlets, "Something has happened at McDonald's in Stafford. There's at least 10 police cars and two ambulances. The windows have been taped up, and there's no entry. The police are turning people away. It's obviously something serious."

Another added, "We went to use the drive-thru which was shut, so had to turn around on the car park." Those inside the restaurant at the time were reportedly asked to leave as up to 10 marked police vehicles and multiple ambulances descended on the site.

The heavy presence of emergency vehicles, as well as the taped-off windows, left onlookers shaken. StokeonTrentLive has contacted both Staffordshire Police and McDonald's for further statements, but responses have yet to be issued.

However, the West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed its attendance and outlined the level of response deployed, which included an ambulance, two paramedic officers, and a critical care paramedic.

The identity of the man has not yet been released, and it remains unclear whether he had any prior health issues. Authorities have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner as investigations continue.
