Inside the New Beckham Family Drama Over Brooklyn’s Birthday – Here’s What We Know

What began as seemingly heartfelt birthday tributes quickly became the latest chapter in the highly publicised Beckham family fallout. Continue reading to see the throwback snaps waiting at the end of the article.

David and Victoria Beckham publicly marked their son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham's 27th birthday on March 4, 2026, sharing affectionate throwback posts on Instagram — a notable show of warmth that landed mid-feud after Brooklyn aired a deeply personal family rift.

David posted two childhood photos of his eldest son. One showed the family in a swimming pool when Brooklyn was small; another, in black and white, captured father and son together.

In the captions, David wrote, "27 today," followed by an emotional-eyes emoji and a white heart, and added, "Happy birthday bust, we love you x." He also repeated the nickname in a second post, writing, "Happy birthday Bust. Love you x."

The nickname matters because Bust is short for Buster, which the football icon has previously said he has used for Brooklyn since birth — and it is also a name he has tattooed on his neck, underscoring the closeness those posts were designed to signal.

Victoria shared her own throwback, posting a photo with Brooklyn as a toddler and writing, "Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much," alongside a string of heart emojis.

But what looked, on its face, like a united front quickly fed a fresh burst of speculation about how strained things remain behind the scenes. According to an insider, Brooklyn was not happy about the birthday posts.

"These are the exact type of performative, public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail," the source shared, adding that the public tributes landed more like pressure than comfort.

The same source said Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, were still not seeking reconciliation, despite an earlier report that David and Victoria's door to repairing the relationship "remains open."

According to the insider, Brooklyn and his wife have been trying to step away from the drama, focus on each other, and build their own lives, adding that they would like to move on.

The tension traces back to January, when Brooklyn posted a six-page statement on Instagram that detailed allegations against his parents and made clear the relationship had broken down.

In that statement, the 27-year-old said he felt compelled to respond after accusing his parents of repeatedly speaking to the press about private matters.

He also raised issues surrounding his wedding to Nicola, alleging that his mother withdrew from making his bride-to-be's wedding dress shortly before the ceremony and claiming there had been an uncomfortable moment when Victoria danced with him during the reception.

Brooklyn also alleged that Nicola had faced ongoing disrespect from members of his family and said his father declined to meet with them when they travelled to see him for the former footballer's birthday.

David and Victoria have not addressed Brooklyn's allegations directly. Even so, the wedding-related claims have been contested in the public sphere by people connected to the event.

DJ Fat Tony backed Brooklyn Peltz Beckham's description of the uncomfortable dance moment, while singer Marc Anthony said the narrative as presented was not true.

Against that backdrop, the March 4 birthday posts were always likely to draw a strong reaction — and they did, particularly on social media, where many commenters framed the situation as difficult to understand.

"So his parents wished him loving Happy Birthday messages .. how traumatizing for him [sic]," one person commented.

"God the guy needs serious therapy if his parents and siblings sending him birthday messages is so triggering 🙄 he needs to seriously grow up…he'll soon miss them when his parents are longer living," another typed.

"Seriously, You think Drama is your parents wishing you a happy birthday???? Wow, this is unbelievable!!! Seems to me this shows the real truth behind this unfortunate matter… 😳 [sic]," someone else shared.

One commenter broadened the point into a reflection on privilege and perspective, writing, "When someone is born with a silver spoon they don't understand."

"'Those who've always had comfort may not fully understand the lessons that come from struggle.' It's hard to appreciate resilience when life has rarely requires it [sic]. LOVE YOUR PARENTS," the netizen continued.

Others focused less on Brooklyn's reaction and more on the idea that family affection persists regardless of conflict. "Can't stop a parents [sic] love. End of story," one person wrote.

Another netizen added, "Let's pray his children doesn't treat him how he is treating his parents Cos what you sow is what you will reap [sic]."

For now, the only thing clear is that the Beckham family fallout remains public, and the birthday messages — tender in tone and nostalgic in imagery — have not, at least so far, produced any visible sign of a private breakthrough.
