Jeff Brazier Shares Sweet Photos with Baby Granddaughter and Says He Will Tell Her All About Her Grandma Jade Goody

A new baby girl has arrived in one of Britain's most closely watched families, and her name alone carries the weight of a love story that never truly ended — a story that seems to echo even more clearly in the photos waiting at the very bottom.

Jeff Brazier, 46, became a grandfather earlier this month when his son Freddy and girlfriend Holly Swinburn welcomed a baby girl named Isla Jade Brazier.

On Sunday, Jeff took to Instagram to share a series of photos from the hospital, cradling his newborn granddaughter in his arms, and a group photo with his sons and Holly taken shortly after she gave birth.

The caption is already melting hearts across the country:

"Dear Isla Jade. You have no idea how deeply loved you are. There are so many good people standing behind you, and a very special angel watching over you."

He said the baby’s parents had chosen the name for a reason and would one day share the story behind it and the woman it honors.

He added that she already felt like an incredible blessing and said he would always be thankful to Holly and Freddy for filling his heart and bringing so much happiness into their lives. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to them, signing off with characteristic warmth:

"Holding you is pure peace. All my love, Grandad ❤️ (Though you're welcome to call me something a bit cooler when you're older!)"

The middle name is no accident. Freddy was just four years old when his mother, "Big Brother" star Jade Goody, then 27, passed away from cervical cancer on Mother's Day, 22 March 2009. His older brother Bobby was five. Since then, Jeff has raised both boys on his own.

The arrival of Isla Jade came just days before the 17th anniversary of Jade's passing, a detail that has not been lost on fans.

Jade had spent her final weeks selling interviews and photographs, determined to raise as much money as possible for her sons. It is thought she left an estate of around £3 million.

Jeff said in 2014 that after her diagnosis, "the first thing she did was work out how much it would cost to put the boys through private education until they were 16. The answer was £260,000."

During her final months, the desire to provide for her sons kept her going despite extreme weakness and intense suffering. More than anything else, she wanted them to have the stable and secure childhood she herself had been denied.

Her will also made clear that her children were her highest priority, stressing that their wishes should take precedence above all else.

Jade and Jeff had co-written a script to help their sons understand what was happening. In it, she explained that she would become a star in the sky, which the boys would always be able to see. Jeff later said of that moment, "The thought of that always reduces me to tears. Our poor boys. Poor Jade."

Now, nearly two decades on, those same boys are grown men. And one of them has named his daughter after her.

Fans who followed the news were visibly moved. "Will always remember that day as it was Mother's Day, where everyone was celebrating it," one person wrote. Others noted the poignancy of the timing. "Congratulations! Madness how it was just before her nanny's anniversary of passing ❤️💕," one fan commented. Another wrote simply, "How weird to think that a blink of an eye ago we watched a 20 year old girl called Jade Goody on BB and today she'd be a Grandmother. Wow."

"Awe how beautiful 💗congratulations all, Nanny Jade will definitely be watching over you little one 💕" one commented. "And she would have just become grandma this week too," one commenter added quietly, referencing a post marking the 17th anniversary of Jade's passing.

Isla Jade Brazier was born into a family that has not forgotten. And in the photos below, that sense of remembrance feels impossible to miss.
