A “Pasión y Poder” Star Left Homeless – Video of Alejandro Landero Now Living on the Streets
The face that once shone in the Mexican telenovelas of the 80's is now facing his most difficult moment. Alejandro Landero, remembered for his gallantry and talent in soap operas such as "Rosa Salvaje" and "Pasión y Poder", is now living a hard reality.
Neighbors of the Condesa neighborhood in Mexico City, asked for public help for Alejandro Landero, after finding him living in the street, accompanied only by his pets. The news has caused commotion among those who remembered him for his television career.
The video circulating on social networks shows the actor sleeping on a public bench, surrounded by blankets and carriers where he keeps his animals safe. In a matter of hours, Alejandro's story went viral and many began to ask for support to help him.
Alejandro Landero achieved notoriety in the 1980s for his role as the chauffeur Rigo Camacho in "Rosa Salvaje" (1987), in addition to his participation in "Vivir un poco" (1985) and "Pasión y Poder" (1988). He also ventured into musical theater and later collaborated with Televisión Azteca, as well as with Once TV, where he worked briefly as a host.
Some time later, he moved to the state of Morelos, where he taught acting classes. In 2020, he reappeared publicly to deny rumors about his death. He clarified that he lived in Puerto Vallarta, the place where he lived with his wife until he was widowed in 2016. Since then, his media trail has been disappearing.
Today, his life is spent on a sidewalk on Mazatlán Street, between Juan Escutia and Agustín Melgar, according to El Heraldo de México. There, Alejandro has remained with his pets, which he considers his only family, and which he is not willing to abandon under any circumstances.
Alejandro Landero is homeless and spends the night in the streets of the Condesa neighborhood. Neighbors in the area explained that the actor has been sleeping outdoors for three nights, together with his four cats and a small dog.
Verónica Hernández, a resident of the neighborhood, recorded a video in which she made an appeal to the community: "I ask for your support so that our neighbor, Alejandro Landero, someone could help him. He is homeless, he has four kittens and a dog. They are very calm, he has even kept the kittens in these carriers so that they cannot escape. He is asking for support, I don't know if someone could please help him for a month at the most so that he can have a roof over his head".
The neighbor also said: "Unfortunately, he has been here for three nights already, we have not been able to find any place, any space, I hope someone could help us. In advance, neighbors, I thank you and as they say: we never know when we may need someone, today for you, tomorrow for me".

In social networks, neighbors began to disseminate publications to get him shelter. The images of the actor, sitting on a bench next to his belongings and his animals, have moved hundreds of people, who began to share his story on networks and local media in the hope of finding him a decent shelter.
The publications about her situation generated diverse reactions. Some users showed empathy, while others made reflections on the need for solidarity and personal responsibility.
"It's not about criticizing and giving negative opinions and as any being a hand to offer help to him and his pets," said one person.

On the other hand, another supportive user said: "I hope he finds shelter, but maybe the person who is telling the story can take him to the actor's house and there he can be accepted", while someone else commented that "We will all need at some point, we all have mistakes, faults, ups and downs, but we should never judge life; it is a roulette, if he was bad and did nothing with his money, we should not judge him".
One commenter wrote: "How sad. I don't know what happened with what he earned, but there should be support from the TV network he worked for, and if not, someone should offer him a job so that he and his little animals can be better off."
Other comments showed a harsher stance: "The truth is that no one will ever wish to end up like that, but here I ask why help him? If he was a soap opera star, he wasn't badly paid, didn't he reinvest it or did he squander the money like many others when he reaches glory? Besides, if he is in a street situation, he should go and look for a job like 90% of Mexicans," he said.
The messages reflect a division between those who believe that his trajectory deserves respect and help, and those who think that personal responsibility is key in the face of adversity.

The actor's case shows the most vulnerable side of the figures who once occupied the small screen. From fame in emblematic productions of the 80's to the uncertainty of the streets, his story shows the fragility of life in show business and the importance of empathy.
Meanwhile, Condesa neighbors and some fans continue to search for ways to provide refuge for him and his faithful companions.
