Amanda Holden’s Second Golden Buzzer Move on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Sparks Buzz Among Viewers — Video
The beloved panellist's latest Golden Buzzer moment on "Britain's Got Talent" set tongues wagging — and not entirely in praise — after the judge broke the rules for a second time in scenes that quickly went viral.
Amanda Holden made waves on 11 April 2026 when she pressed the Golden Buzzer for World Wings, a Japanese dance troupe whose high-energy routine to songs by Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross, and Paul Russell brought the audience roaring to their feet.

The extraordinary detail? Amanda had already used her Golden Buzzer this series, making this a rare and eyebrow-raising second press. However, it was the crowd who ultimately made the decision for her.
The group stormed the stage with a slick, fast-paced performance, blending sharp synchronisation with bold staging choices.

Their routine drew deafening cheers from the live audience, who chanted for Amanda Holden to press the gold, and she eventually gave in, explaining herself in a clip shared on the "Britain's Got Talent" Instagram account:
"I've done it for the audience. They were going absolutely nuts about an act that we've just seen that was fantastic. But I have already pressed my golden buzzer, and there were strict rules this year."

The panellist then panned the camera to fellow panellist Simon Cowell. "But he always tells me to break 'em," she added. The rule-breaking moment may have delighted the studio crowd, but it quickly ignited a fierce reaction online, where viewers questioned both the decision and the show's current standards.

"Golden buzzer for this is crazy," one viewer wrote, while another took the opportunity to air rather broader frustrations, suggesting the show had well and truly run its course, pointing to predictable acts, repetitive judging from the panel, and a lineup that barely reflected British talent at all.

The scepticism continued, with one viewer writing, "I'm sorry but that's not a Golden Buzzer worthy!!! Yes they're all good, love the energy and had a great taste in music. But let's face the fact they're not even that so good that's very basic choreograph [sic]."
Another netizen added, "Boring, not good talent this year, may as well be a sad back story singing competition with a bit of talent. Think the ratings are down this year too, will be axed soon [sic]."

Further down the comments, the tone remained largely unchanged. "One of the worst golden buzzer ever," one person wrote, as another weighed in, "Is it me being crazy or are people over hyping this group it was just a standard act nothing special [sic]."

An international viewer brought a sharp new angle to the conversation, typing, "Lol seriously? Watch UAAP Cheerdance competition, this act won't even secure a podium Top 3! sorry but let's be realistic [sic]."
Someone else kept their verdict short and blunt, commenting, "Ha? What? Just that? nothing special for golden buzzer [sic]." One person offered the most concise review of all, sharing, "Too many people. It's a mess."

Amid the wider concern about the show's direction, one viewer noted, "I think the standard of the acts keep lowering year on year and what it takes for a golden buzzer isn't much these days [sic]."
Still, not all reactions were negative. Amid the criticism, one viewer captured the excitement of the moment, saying, "OMG I can't believe it😮🙌."

And then came the comment that shifted the entire conversation. "This is ridiculous. Joan should have gotten golden buzzer [sic]. Not them," one viewer declared, and with that, a name that many felt had been overlooked entirely entered the picture.
Joan, a nurse balancing demanding long hours with her passion for performance, had delivered a striking operatic audition earlier in the episode.
Despite limited time to rehearse due to her profession, she commanded the stage with confidence and poise, drawing visible emotion from some of the judges as her voice filled the auditorium.

The panel gave Joan four yeses, sending her through to the next round. For much of the audience at home, though, that felt like the very least she deserved.
"How The Hell Did She Not Get The Golden Buzzer," one viewer wrote, as a second called it a "Golden moment, brilliant performance." A third added, "Its annoying that she didnt get the gold buzzer [sic]."

And perhaps the most memorable response of all came from a viewer who shared, "Most beautiful thing I have heard. And I am a 54 year old [sic] bloke."
That groundswell of emotion — and the fierce debate over who truly deserves a Golden Buzzer — has become a defining theme of this year's "Britain's Got Talent."
When a choir of colourfully dressed kids from Braunstone Community Primary School took to the BGT stage on April 3 2026, nobody could have predicted what was about to unfold.

The group, accompanied by their headmaster Mr T, opened with a gentle acapella rendition of "All Things Bright and Beautiful" by Bill Baines. The crowd was charmed. The judges were smiling. Everything felt wholesome — until Mr T was unceremoniously shooed off his own stage.

His miniature doppelgänger, cheekily labelled "Mini Mr T" on the back of his tiny blazer, stepped in to conduct the choir while the real Mr T made a swift exit. The kids played along, shooting each other bewildered glances but never missing a beat.

Then Mr T returned — silver chrome cap, bubblegum pink T-shirt — and banished his miniature self right back where he came from. That's when the performance detonated.
The track switched to "Friday" by Riton x Nightcrawlers ft. Mufasa & Hypeman, and suddenly children came streaming down the theatre aisles, decked out in fun accessories — the same ones handed to the judges. The house lost its mind.

By the time every last child had made it onto the stage, the performance had transformed into a full-scale celebration. Dancing, jumping, pure joy. All four judges were on their feet.

Guest judge Stacey Solomon — standing in for Simon Cowell that episode — leaned forward and asked Mr T when the Friday tradition began. He told her simply, "Just every Friday at two o'clock we all come together to celebrate the end of the week." That was apparently all she needed to hear.

The judges piled on with praise before Stacey grew visibly moved. "You have no idea how lucky you are to have a head teacher like that," she said. "That is an absolute gift — with your energy, with your love, with your kindness towards your students. Like that for me is..."

She never finished the sentence. Stacey stood up and in one swift motion, she smashed the golden buzzer. It was a genuinely moving moment. But online, the reaction was far less unanimous.
Some veiwers were left completely baffled. "Why did Stacey give them a golden buzzer 😂😂😂 it was just an ordinary school dance," one laughed.
Another was far less forgiving, fuming, "Seriously?? Golden buzzer?? Such an insult to the other actual talent." A third put it more bluntly, "Methinks she got the wrong buzzer."
Others went further. "This was not GOLDEN BUZZER worthy. IDC like what? They got that for dancing around the DAMN stage 🤣😢," one person vented. Another declared flatly, "The worst golden buzzer in History 🤦." "The Most Stupid Golden Buzzer," a third viewer stated without ceremony.

"Where is the talent now?" one person asked pointedly. "Is this a talent show??? or kids show?! not deserving [sic]," another challenged bluntly.
One commenter directed their frustration squarely at Stacey herself, raging, "Stupid judge Stacey!!! Four yes only can be good for them. Golden Buzzer was a big F!!!"

Some pointed to a bigger pattern. "Nice kids but not a golden buzzer performance. Also, this golden buzzer thing got out of control, some judges pressed it more than once. Seems like the recipe for golden buzzer is not pure talent anymore…" observed one frustrated commenter.

"The choice for golden buzzers has been horrific this year and why this show is becoming a parody instead of a genuine raw talent contest," another person added pointedly.
But not everyone was cynical. At least one viewer chose to see it differently. "Stacey Solomon just created unforgettable memories for all them children who will remember this moment for the rest of their lives," one fan wrote warmly.
