1. Meghan Markle

Before Meghan Markle met and married Harry, formerly known as Prince Harry, she was an actress in "Suits."  This wasn't the first time she had been spotted on TV.  She had previously been a hostess on the game show. "Play Your Cards Right."  Meghan and her husband have now chosen a life of privacy which they expressed in a world wide interview with Oprah.

2. Beyoncé

Before Beyoncé joined Destiny's Child alongside Kelly and Michelle, she worked in her mom's hairdressing salon. Besides sweeping the shop floor and washing hair, Beyonce would sing and put on little shows by herself for the women who wanted a hot press and curl!

3. Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt's always had the dream of cracking Hollywood but before he hit the big time as a heart throb actor, he landed a job in a commercial for Pringles!  Before that, Brad worked at El Pollo Loco chicken restaurant where he had to dress up as a chicken and get passers by to eat in the restaurant.

4. Madonna

Madonna has had a memorable career and it's not over.  She's re-invented herself over the decades but probably won't want to think back to the time before she broke onto the scene.  She had a job at Dunkin' Donuts but got fired for squirting jelly at a customer - so they say!

5. James Corden

On his late night show, James Corden makes celebrities eat the occasional salmon milkshake in the "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts" segment and that's not the only time he has served someone.  Back in the day, before he was famous, he worked at an Italian restaurant and tried to smuggle out 50 bottles of beer after his shift.  He didn't get fired because his boss needed him in the next day!

6. Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has experienced success throughout his career which is no surprise as the man can do everything!  Before he had his name in lights, Hugh worked at 7-Eleven.  He hated it and it showed as he was fired!  He did say that it was a learning curve as he realised he could make his way, working with his hands, feet and brain!

7. George Clooney

George Clooney told David Letterman that he had a number of jobs before he found fame in ER.  He admitted he wasn't good at any of them and one in particular.  He became a door to door insurance salesman and only managed to sell one life policy.  The man who signed up died shortly afterwards!

Kanye may be head-to-toe in Yeezy right now, but when he was a teenager, still at High School, he secured a job at Gap as a sales associate..  "It's funny that I worked at the Gap in high school, because in my past 15 years it seems like that's the place I stood in my creative path — to be the gap, the bridge," Kanye told Paper in 2015.

9. Nicole Kidman

Oscar winner Nicole Kidman learned to be a professional masseur in order to help her mother's pains during her breast cancer treatment.  She enjoyed the skill so much that she started doing it for other people.  That was before she became the toast of Hollywood.

The former president revealed that his first summer job wasn’t glamorous but it taught him some valuable lessons such as responsibility, hard work and managing to balance a job with family, friends and school.  The job in question was - scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins.

It wasn't a secret throughout the filming of The X Factor that Harry Styles had a part-time job, working at the W Mandeville Bakery in Cheshire, England.  He even revisited the bakery in 2013 when One Direction were filming their documentary 'This Is Us."  Who would have thought baking bread could lead to world domination!

Jennifer Lopez sings, dances, acts and looks sensational ALL of the time!  Before fame reached her doorstep, she was a clerk at a law firm and then ran a dance school where she actually taught Kerry Washington.  J Lo also worked as a backing dancer for Janet Jackson.

Taylor Swift didn't have much time for a job before becoming famous because she made it to the top at a very young age.  However, the Grammy award vocalist did work on a farm, picking the praying mantis pods off trees.  She couldn't lift the trees because she was too small.

Before Channing Tatum became 'Magic Mike' he had a provocative job!  He was a stripper in an all-male revue in Florida.  This revelation had remained under the radar until the man who hired him sold a video of him to the US Weekly. "I had wanted to tell people. I’m not ashamed of it. I don’t regret one thing," Tatum told the Press.

Before she was on stage performing 'Super Bass' and 'Anaconda', Nicki Minaj had a much more sensible life.  She was a waitress at American food chain, Red Lobster.   Unfortunately, Minaj was fired from the role for being rude to some arrogant customers.  She admitted that customer service was not her strong point.

Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie got her big break in Wolf Of Wall Street and has never looked back.  Actually, that's not strictly true as she worked in Subway in her former life and was just as good at making sandwiches as she was at acting,   She said she always made sure she put the filling up to the edges of the roll!

Jon Hamm wasn't always the smooth talking advertising man Don Draper.  The actor reported to GQ that his first job was as a dishwasher at a Greek restaurant, Spiro's, in St. Louis.   Jon said that Spiro was the kind of boss who screamed at you if he wasn't happy with your work.  Luckily, it wasn't long after that he started getting acting roles.
