Craziest Details You Missed From The Incredibles Movies

Dry Mouth?

When being held up by the police, and Frozone is trying to take a sip of water, it is because he is dehydrated and cannot use his powers, but a close-up of his lips shows that they are dry! It's tiny details like this one why this film is regarded as one of the best (and also probably why it took so long to make a second one!)

How Long Ago??

There has been quite a bit of debate as to when the Incredibles film was set, but in one scene where Bob is reading the newspaper, the date of the paper is "Monday, May 16TH, 1962"! This one is definitely a hard one to spot and I must admit, I've always just thought it was set as present-day, but apparently not!

Clever Hidden Messages...

The Incredibles is full of clever little hidden messages, and one of my favorites is the business card that is given to Bob by Mirage! The number to call on the card is 866-787-7476 which spells out SUPR HRO on a keypad! And no I haven't tried calling it...

Reflection In The Water...

After the plane that Elastigirl and her kids are in goes down, I always thought, how on earth did Elastigirl know that debris from the plane was going to fall on them without looking up? Well... she was looking at the reflection in the water and noticed it! Very clever!

Missing Man!

In another scene where Bob is reading the newspaper, there is a page dedicated to a man that is missing called Simon J. Paladino. For the ones of you that are very sharp, you will have realized that this is the secret identity of Gazerbeam, who is later found dead in the cave by Bob!

Bomb Voyage!

Bomb Voyage is a character that makes a cameo as a mime-turned-villain that Mr. Incredible fights against, but, did you know that at the end of Ratatouille, Bomb Voyage can be seen working as a mime on the streets of Paris? Very clever, Pixar, very clever!

Honey, Where's My Supersuit?

Everybody knows the line, but I bet that you didn't quite catch that Frozone isn't just calling her honey because she is his partner, but Honey is actually her name! This can be seen when Helen asks Lucius to "Say hello to Honey for me"! The more you know, right?

Your Life Is In Our Hands...

When Bob is talking to his boss, Mr. Huph, he sharpens his pencil in one of the scenes, and I bet you didn't quite pick up that the pencil says 'Your Life is in our Hands". Another example of the genius of the details in this film! Made even better when you realize that Bob works for a life insurance company!

To Old Friends...

At the wedding of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, you can see a host of other superheroes attending! But, I bet you didn't realize that all the superheroes that are sitting on the second row are the ones that die! Why did they die you ask? Well because they did not follow Edna Mode's advice... NO CAPES!

Luxo Ball!

There are a few themes and easter eggs scattered across all of or very many of Pixar's films and one of them is the Luxo Ball! This is the ball that bounces across the screen and is a prop for Luxo Jr. It has appeared in every Pixar film since Cars 2, but is also in the Incredibles film as a toy of Jack-Jack's!

Cars Crossover...

Speaking of Cars, we all know that Pixar loves a crossover! So, I bet here's one that you missed! In the fight between the Incredibles and the Omnidroid that Syndrome created you can spot Doc Hudson from cars parked up in the street witnessing the whole fight!

Brodie Or Buddy?

I'm sure Mr. Incredible has very many fans, one very obvious one was Incrediboy, who we all know turns out to be Syndrome! However, when Mr. Incredible makes the mistake of calling him Brodie instead of Buddy, this is actually a reference to Jason Lee's (who plays Syndrome) character in Mallrats who is called Brodie!

A113...

Another hidden gem that is in all Pixar films is the classic A113, which is the animation classroom that so many of the Pixar animators attended. I wonder if you spotted where it was in The Incredibles though? Well, the prison cell where Mr. Incredible is located is on level A1 and prison cell 13... Very clever Pixar!

Coco Crossover...

Another crossover that I am almost certain you would not have spotted! If you are though extremely sharp-eyed, you will have spotted that in Coco, there is a poster on the wall of the Incredibles, but wait... it is the dead versions of each of the Incredibles... Just genius.

Cops And Robbers...

In an early scene in the film, a robber is getting away after having robbed someone, and upon emptying the bag that has been robbed, one of the items emptied is a Mr. Incredible Pez dispenser. I wonder how much one of those would be worth today, and where I can get my hands on one!

Brilliant Call Backs...

In the second Incredibles film, there are some brilliant callbacks to the first film. One of my personal favorites is Dash's compulsion to randomly push buttons, but ending up saving the day. He does this again when they get into their new home, and there are loads of buttons to press!

Pew-Pew...

Most of the time, the saying "pew-pew" is linked with sci-fi films and even more uniquely star wars! There are even times when characters from these films say the words out loud "pew-pew" whilst shooting a laser. Well... Violet apparently couldn't help herself either when aiming Jack-Jack's Lazer eyes!

New Voice Actor!

In the first film, Spencer Fox acts as the voice of Dash, but unfortunately, by the time it got to recording the voices for the second film his voice had aged out! This could have been a major issue, however, they absolutely smashed it by hiring first-time voice actor, Huck Milner to play the role of Dash!

Honey, There's My Supersuit!

In the second film, the original plan was to give Honey a character and on-screen time, in the film, however, Brad Bird decided against the idea saying that she was funnier off-screen. Either way, there is a great call back to the first film where Lucius looks for his super-suit, but this time it is where it should be!

Home Secrets!

The two homes that the Parrs live in are completely different, and are meant to have very clever meanings to them! In the first film, the typical suburban house had a downward slope that was meant to symbolize the family being down in the dumps, whereas the new home has an upward slope, symbolizing them being on the way back up. There are many more hidden meanings as well!

Famous Chinese Take-Out!

After being released from prison, the Parrs order a Chinese takeout in a very clever scene, where they are all in the same clothes as in the final scene from the first film. However, a very sharp eye will have also caught that the logo on the Chinese Box is also in A Bugs Life, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Ratatouille!

Nice Hair-Do!

When animating the second Incredibles film, almost everything looks exactly identical, except for one thing... Their hair! In between the first and the second films being made, Pixar developed a new program for the character's hair, which means that it acts in a much more realistic way than usual!

Edna and Jack-Jack...

With Jack-Jack kind of the star of the show in Incredibles 2, one of the best bits was when he spent the night with Auntie Edna. When Bob returns the next day, he's shocked to find Jack-Jack acting like a little Edna Mode, holding his lollipop like Edna, talking and walking like her, this was a subtle but brilliant part of the film.

Kari's Influence!

One of the best callbacks to the first film is when in Incredibles 2, Jack-Jack is shown to have a love for Mozart, not only this but Mozart's music actually became assimilated with his powers. The only reason for this could be Kari, when babysitting Jack-Jack said she'll "play him lots of Mozart for him and it'll make him smart".

Hidden Mickey Mouse...

One of the key ways in which Screen Saver was going to take power was to hypnotize everyone! This, being clever enough in itself also had a little gem of an Easter egg! If you look closely enough whilst being hypnotized, you can see a kind of warped Mickey Mouse in the spirals!

Theme Songs!

Every great superhero has to have a great theme song, and in the film, we get to hear Mr. Incredible's theme song, part of Frozone's theme song, but we don't get to hear any of Elastigirls! Even when Winston Deavor tries to sing it later on, Helen cuts him off. Well if you stayed long enough, and watched the credits, all 3 of their theme songs in full were played!

Right at the end of the film, in great style, one of the final clips includes a drill breaking ground. Now I'm not gonna promise anything, but could this be a hint at a third Incredibles film with the return of the underminer? If so I definitely cannot wait as long as it took for for the second one to come out!

Maybe NYC?

There is debate as to which city New Urbam is meant to be like, with many people thinking it's Denver. However, in the second film, the Mayor is voiced by Barry Bostwick, who was also the Mayor of New York in the sit come to Spin City. Maybe this was Pixar trying to let us know that they're New Yorkers!

Usher Cameo...

As Frozone gets escorted around in a limo sent by Winston Deavor, there is a scene where the limo driver says to Frozone, "I'm your biggest fan" (the same thing Syndrome said to Mr. Incredible in the first film when he was still Incrediboy). This limo driver was voiced by Usher, I wonder if he'll become a villain in the third one like Syndrome did.

Mission Impossible Shout-Out...

Pixar love their little easter eggs, and this is another one. As Elastigirl is fighting, she shouts out "Where is the closest window" before jumping out of it. This was also said by Tom Cruise in the film Mission Impossible 6 before Cruise did the stunt where he shattered his ankle... Hardcore, so much so that Elastigirl is a fan!
