Jesy Nelson Shares Emotional Update as Twins Ocean and Story Return to Hospital
The 34-year-old pop star broke hearts across the internet with a single image.
Jesy Nelson has left fans heartbroken and inspired in equal measure after sharing an emotional new update about her baby girls — Ocean Jade and Story Monroe — as the twins return to hospital amid their devastating health fight.

Nelson took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, 10 February, to post a photo of her two tiny daughters lying side-by-side in a hospital bed. Swaddled in a soft beige knitted blanket and clutching each other's hands, the pair appear fixated on something out of frame — a moment as tender as it is gut-wrenching.
Both babies have visible medical tubes taped to their cheeks, nestled amongst equipment inside their sterile hospital room. Nelson's heartwarming caption read simply, "Watching tv together holding hands 🥺 my heart 😭."

The powerful image follows earlier revelations that the twins have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type-1 — a rare and degenerative genetic muscle condition.
Nelson, who shares the girls with long-time partner and fellow musician Zion Foster, has been remarkably open about the diagnosis. And this latest glimpse into their lives has struck a deep chord with her followers.

However, while the former Little Mix star remains focused on her daughters' care, reports have surfaced that she and Foster have quietly ended their relationship, less than a year after the twins' arrival.
As Amomama previously reported, the pair, who only months ago were beaming over their engagement and the birth of their daughters, have now gone their separate ways.

The couple's split comes in the shadow of a harrowing medical crisis: their twin daughters, born in May 2025, were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-1 — a rare and life-limiting genetic condition that affects muscle strength and movement.
Despite the emotional upheaval, insiders claim the separation was amicable. "She and Zion remain friends and are fully focused on their daughters," a source told The Sun last month. "They are fully united in co-parenting. Their priority continues to be the well-being of their daughters."
Nelson first revealed the girls' heartbreaking condition in a raw and emotional Instagram video earlier this month. She then bravely appeared solo on "This Morning," speaking through tears about her daughters' medical battle.
Yet, even after that vulnerable appearance, fans were the first to clock a chilling detail — Nelson's ring was gone.
The online chatter quickly snowballed.
"I would think as she mentioned she's having to do a lot of medical things for her gorgeous girls so she's probably taken the rings off for safety/hygiene reasons?" one fan speculated. Another chimed in, "Jess as not go her ring on... might not have it on as scared to catch it on one of the babies or the medical equipment they now have to use. [sic]"
But others weren't ready to accept the end of Nelson and Foster's four-year love story.
"They are going through the hardest times of there life at the moment with there twins that no parent should have to go through," one commenter wrote. "Even if this is true, hopefully, with a bit of time, they will work it out and both get back together. [sic]"
Another echoed the heartbreak, "I know this is so hard for you both, but you only have each other to get through this for your babies. I am sure it will test you to your possible limits but this is not the time to make these decisions [...]."
Still more fans mourned the timing of the split, saying it was "so sad for Jesy and the twins," and prayed she had the support she needed. "This young family have enough struggles to face whether together or separate," someone else added.
Nelson and Foster's love story has always been on-again, off-again.
They first dated in 2022, but clashing schedules and their eight-year age gap led to a swift split. "She is in a different head space from Zion these days," a source told The Mirror at the time. "They had a great trip abroad but since they got back, Jesy realized it's time to move on."
Fast forward to 2023 — another breakup. Then again in 2024. And still, they kept finding their way back. In August 2024, they even released a duet together — "Mine." But by September, it was radio silence.
Both scrubbed their social media of any trace of the other. And when a TikTok from OK! suggested the romance was over, Foster himself commented, "Beautiful woman inside and out. I wish her nothing but the best."
A source later confirmed, "Jesy and Zion split last month and have completely cut ties with each other."

Just as the world assumed it was all over, the couple shocked everyone with a January 2025 announcement: Nelson was pregnant with twins.
Fans were floored by the reveal. "She's eating for 3 now," Nelson wrote, flaunting her baby bump alongside two baby emojis.

But their joy quickly turned to fear. The twins were diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) — a dangerous condition where shared placentas cause uneven blood flow. Nelson underwent in-utero surgery, then spent months under strict medical care.
The girls arrived early, at just 31 weeks, in May.

In a moment of joy amidst chaos, Nelson and Foster got engaged four months after the birth. "Just got engaged to my best friend," Nelson gushed on Instagram in September 2025.
For a while, it seemed the worst was behind them. Fans were rooting for this young family. Which is why this latest breakup — confirmed not just by words, but by the absence of that once-sparkling ring — has left followers absolutely shattered.
However, as Nelson continues to raise awareness about SMA, one thing is certain — she is fighting for her daughters. And now, the doting mum is set to lay bare her emotional road to motherhood in a tell-all six-part documentary — secretly filmed behind closed doors last year.
