Kid Rock Headlines TPUSA ‘All-American Halftime Show’ Alternative to Bad Bunny Super Bowl Performance, Causing a Stir

As Bad Bunny delivered the Super Bowl XL halftime show to a national television audience, a separate performance took place at the same time, headlined by Kid Rock.

The concert was hosted by Turning Point USA and promoted as the "All-American Halftime Show," offering an alternative for viewers not watching the Super Bowl broadcast.

Bad Bunny took the Super Bowl halftime stage, performing live for tens of millions of viewers and making history as the first artist to deliver an entire halftime show in Spanish. The 31-year-old, who was Spotify's most-streamed artist worldwide in 2025, brought his signature energy to the iconic performance.

Meanwhile, Kid Rock appeared at a Turning Point USA event that streamed online. The livestream was published on YouTube under the title "TPUSA Presents: The ALL-AMERICAN HALFTIME SHOW."

The two performances were later compared after TMZ posted a poll on X asking, "Who had the better halftime show -- Bad Bunny or Kid Rock?"

The poll quickly drew attention, with netizens responding to the contrast between the Super Bowl broadcast and the online concert.

At the time of reporting, Kid Rock was leading the poll with 66.9 percent of the vote, while Bad Bunny had 33.1 percent.

More than 256,000 fans participated within the first several hours, and the post received approximately 1.8 million views, along with thousands of comments, reposts, and likes.

Several followers on X shared direct reactions to the poll. "Tried? I'd say Kid Rock crushed it," one wrote.

Another commented, "Bad Bunny's halftime show was the worst live performances [sic] in the history of American television," while one added, "No competition! KID ROCK!"

Reactions on Instagram showed a wider range of opinions. TMZ's Instagram post generated mixed feedback. One person wrote, "Bad bunny show is way better then any half time show [sic]."

Another commented, "Nobody's talking about Kid Rock right now! Not after that performance with Bad Bunny and the symbolism that he bought. Love, unity and Latin SPICE! I'm also a huge rocker but kid lost me a long time ago!"

A separate comment stated, "It was a way better show all the artist were great," referring to Kid Rock's performance.

The organization had explained the reasoning behind its alternative halftime show days before the Super Bowl.

In a post published ahead of the game, the organization announced that the "All-American Halftime Show" would air Sunday, February 8, around 8 p.m. Eastern time, positioning it to coincide with the Super Bowl halftime.

Turning Point USA described the event as a patriotic program celebrating American culture, freedom, and faith. The show would feature musical performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

According to the announcement, the concert was made available across Turning Point USA platforms, including YouTube, X, and Rumble, and also aired on partner outlets such as Daily Wire+, Real America's Voice, TBN, CHARGE!, The National News Desk, NTD.com, and OAN News.

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said the goal was to provide an alternative entertainment option during the Super Bowl.

"The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom," Kolvet said.

He added, "We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game. These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can't wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on."

The online debate did not stop with fan polls and social media reactions. President Donald Trump also weighed in on Bad Bunny's performance.

Shortly after the halftime show aired, Trump published a statement on Truth Social describing his reaction to the performance.

"The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!" Trump wrote. "It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn't represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence."

He also criticized the language and choreography, adding, "Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World."

Trump described the show as "just a 'slap in the face' to our Country," saying there was "nothing inspirational" about it.

In the same post, Trump predicted that coverage of the performance would still be positive. He claimed it would "get great reviews from the Fake News Media," adding that they "haven't got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD."

He also included criticism unrelated to the halftime show, writing that the NFL should "immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule."

The post ended with "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" followed by his signature.

Trump's comments followed remarks he made weeks earlier about the Super Bowl and its performers. In a January 24, 2026, interview with the New York Post, he said he planned to skip the game entirely.

During the Oval Office interview, Trump specifically criticized the selection of Bad Bunny and Green Day, noting that both acts have been outspoken critics of him.

"I'm anti-them. I think it's a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible," Trump said, according to the New York Post.

Trump's post-Super Bowl comments closely aligned with his earlier statements, expanding on concerns he had already raised before the event.

His reaction added to the ongoing discussion surrounding the halftime show, placing his views alongside broader public debate about the performance and the NFL's entertainment choices.
