While nobody’s exactly sure who designed them, they’ve been a major talking point across the internet- so much so, that the toilets have now been crowned the weirdest WC in the world.
2. The Nuns urinal, Germany

These urinals in Germany wouldn’t look out of place in a church or cathedral, but these stone carvings of nuns have actually been used as men’s toilets in a restaurant. While many customers have complained about the toilets, they’ve been standing for many years now. Looks like they’re here to stay…
3. Ski jump toilet, Japan

This toilet in Japan gives visitors 360 views of a steep ski jump slope, complete with a snowy piste and mountain range on the toilet walls. You can even strap on a pair of skis while you’re there!
4. Opera toilet, Austria

Complete with operatic music, murals of the interior of the city’s opera house-proper, show posters, and even stalls referred to as “loges,” these memorable, art nouveau Opera toilets in the city of Vienna are the next best thing to being at a proper opera.

Rest assured that although these urinals face large windows, there is just enough frosted glass to keep the view appropriate to the outside world. Phew.

The infamous Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California, is well known for its cave-like rooms and facilities. One of the rooms even has a waterfall urinal that comes to life when used. Tonnes of modern-day visitors are eager to take a seat on these no-longer functional toilets, which have now become pretty famous on Reddit.
8. The outhouses of Elk Falls, USA

Teams form to create the most original outhouse design, and it seems like everyone takes it quite seriously! There’s been mini-movie theatres and even post office designs, and the winners get $60.

Its haphazard tiles in bold primary colours make this playful room a very fun alternative to the average public toilet. Brownie points for the super artsy mirrors. We want them in our own bathroom!
10. George W. Bush toilet, USA

It even starred in his art collection at his studio before he then opened a one-man show called “Down The Drain - The Legacy of George W. Bush”.
11. Faber Peak toilets, Singapore

These restrooms are fully glass-enclosed- except for the cubicles, of course- and they give you a panoramic view of the lush Mount Faber Hill. The toilets even have their own name- locals call them the peek-a-loos!

15. Interactive urinals, UK/Japan

In 2011, it finally became an interactive video game, which was created by the British company Captive Media. LCD screens were installed above pressure-sensitive urinals. The concept is simple: the video game is fully controlled by aiming left or right! These interactive urinals are now popping up in Japan, and will be launching in the USA soon enough.
16. Transparent toilets, Japan

The Nippon Foundation and Tokyo's Shibuya district government started the program to build over a dozen restrooms in Tokyo which turn opaque when they’re occupied.

27. Pioneer hut, New Zealand

These restrooms on Shiqiaopu Street in Chonqging, China attract quite a lot of attention. They have been designed to look like a giant camera, complete with a large lens and a flashlight.
