When Hollywood director William Desmond Taylor died, there were several suspects to his murder. Margaret Gibson, a Hollywood actress, wasn't actually one of the suspects, but on her deathbed, she asked for a priest and then confessed to killing Taylor. The case remains unsolved, however, because there was no obvious motive for Gibson murdering him, and far more likely suspects, despite her confessing to it.
