1.  Baby Elizabeth in 1926

Image source/ bbcThis rare image of the Queen was taken in 1926 and is an image of her with her mother and father, Duke and Duchess of York at the time before becoming King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. A beautiful photo of them and their daughter Princess Elizabeth, future Queen Elizabeth II. 

2. Elizabeth's Love For Horses

Elizabeth had a love for horses and horse racing, and this began at a young age as shown in this image that was taken in 1935. She was an enthusiastic and skilled rider, and she owned many horses throughout her childhood, and this continued into her adulthood too.
 

3. The Queen And Her Dogs

Queen Elizabeth had owned these two corgi dogs throughout her whole life, and they used to come with her nearly everywhere she went up until the later stage of her life. This image was taken in 1936 at her home 145 Picadilly in London.  The Queen went on to adopt more and more corgis after she became Queen.

4. The Queen Celebrating V-E Day

This photo was taken on V-E Day in 1945 where Queen Elizabeth II decided to sneak out in disguise to celebrate with the people. This image shows the dedication and commitment to the people that the Queen had, one of the many reasons why she was loved so much.

5. Elizabeth's Wedding Day

This image was taken in 1947 and shows Princess Elizabeth, at the time, and the Duke of Edinburgh leaving Westminster Abbey after their special marriage ceremony. The couple's love story was for the ages, and they were married for nearly 74 years before Phillip sadly passed away in 2021.

This image was taken in 1954 during the Queen's commonwealth visit and tour of Australia. It shows her leaving a banquet that she attended whilst on tour. Queen Elizabeth II travelled and toured many different countries during her time as Queen and was well respected and admired by all.

In 1991, the Queen visited a Royal Windsor Horse show. The Queen had a very passionate love for horses and owned many different horses and she loved to attend as many horse races and competitions as she could during her time as Queen.  The Queen had loved horses since being a young child.

In 2003, Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth II welcomed and met with former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela during a reception held at Buckingham Palace that was held in honour of the Rhodes Trust, which is an educational charity. The Queen often helped out with many different charity events.
