After a tough day or night at work, bad parents can vent their frustrations at their children in the form of verbal abuse. This can affect a child for years and can even cause a lack of confidence and in other cases development of an inferiority complex.

A lot of parents over protect their child via over pampering which is the opposite of neglect, but can still have a negative impact. If parents decide everything in their child's life ranging from the school they attend to the clothes they wear. This tends to lead to the parents forgetting to give their child a choice. This results in the child wanting other things and in some cases the child will just take without asking.

It is good to constantly look after your child, however, they should be a balance where there is some independence. It's not a good idea to help your child with everything to the point where they are unable to do anything on their own. This results in low self-confidence and self-esteem.
