1. Blobfish

The smooth-head blob fish, commonly referred to as blob fish informally, is a deep-sea fish belonging to the Psychrolutidae family.

2. Peacock Spiders

Peacock spider sightings are uncommon because they are typically restricted to southern Australia. These spiders are really little and usually they only measure 2.5 to 5 mm in length. Many males of this species have lateral flaps that can extend from their abdomen like fans and that's why they got their name.

Located in tropical and subtropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans between Eastern Africa and Hawaii, the mantis shrimp is a small, abrasive marine crustacean. As dangerous as they are colourful, they can club prey with the force of a bullet or spike them with their razor-sharp claws.

This crazy looking creature is a colonial organism and goes by then name of a siphonophore, which is an animal that looks like a group of specialised organs, each with a nervous system of their own, came together and decided to become a larger creature. These creatures live in the open ocean.

This creature looks like it should be apart of the Gremlins movie or something like that. The Philippine Tarsiers  is found in the south-eastern part of the archipelago, particularly on the islands of Bohol, Samar and Leyt. These creatures mainly live in a forest type environment.

Small, insectivorous, and indigenous to East and Southern Africa is the aardwolf. Its name is Afrikaans and Dutch for earth wolf. This creature is one of the less crazy looking ones in the list of crazy looking species. The aardwolf tends to live in open plain lands like savannas.

7. Axolotls

It is revered as the embodiment of the Aztec god Xolotl and typically spends its entire life in a forever young, larval tadpole form. It can regenerate its limbs and organs if they are damaged and is used as a model organism for research into the treatment and cures for degenerative diseases like cancer, heart disease, and injuries like third-degree burns.

8. Ocean Sunfish

This crazy creature has the least number of vertebrae of any vertebrate. At four metres or more, it is the biggest bony fish. It is linked to pufferfish but develops into this enormous, peculiar, harmless beast. This creature also has no tail although it kind of looks like just a head and tail.

This crazy looking creature is known as the sea slug Glaucus atlanticus has the appearance of a little dragon. These pelagic sea slugs use the water's surface tension to stay upright while they float upside down, where they are propelled by winds and ocean currents.

Pangolins are mammals belonging to the phylidota family and are also referred to as scaly anteaters. These crazy looking creatures are apparently best known for being absolutely nuts. This creature can be found in savannas and forests that are within a close reach of water.

Like half of the time, it is invisible. They are a small, millimeter-long crustacean species called a copepod. Squee! They have layers of honeycombed crystal plates inside their cells that allow them to quickly transition from iridescence to invisibility. This creature usually hang around the surface of water.

Because they are so skilled at weaving, weaver birds may create elaborate nests with multiple chambers that can cover entire trees. In conclusion, birds are very intelligent creatures. They come up with the best designs for nests using whatever materials are available by using their intellect, beaks, and feet.

This crazy and scary looking creature goes by the name of a sea spider. Sea spiders have most of their internal organs are kept in their legs. And they are just the most frightening and creepiest creatures ever. Giant sea spiders has only a tiny body but a leg-span of up to 70 cm.

This crazy looking bird is known as a secretary bird. Its common name is said to have come from the bird's feather crest. These feathers that resemble quills give the impression that a secretary is hiding quill pens behind his or her ears. Some people have though that this bird was a dinosaur when seeing it for the first time.

I think we can all agree that the name for this frog is very much appropriate. In addition to their hideous appearance from the hair, they can also use their broken finger bones as claws to protect themselves when confronted. Pretty crazy. The vascularized, hair-like appendages that occasionally develop on males give the hairy frog its name.

Although it doesn't mean to boast, this jellyfish is both exquisite and very much immortal. It just reverts to its younger self when ill or under stress so that it can grow stronger and mature once more, alternating between youth and adulthood indefinitely. This creature lives in the ocean.

This crazy creature goes by the name of a shoebill bird and is an extremely huge wading bird with lengthy legs. It quite obviously gets its name from the large bill that resembles the shape of a shoe. Shoebills only inhabit freshwater wetlands and swamps in east-central Africa.

Not many people know about this special type of deer, but I think its about time they found out. This species of deer is quite unique, mainly due to the fact that it is sabre-toothed. A lot of people would think by looking at this image that this animal is photoshopped, but its not.

The rock hyrax resembles a cuddly, adorable groundhog. Although occasionally, when pushed for food or territory, he might display a different side to you. Amazingly, the rock hyrax is most closely related to the elephant and is native to Africa and the Middle East. The only crazy thing about this creature is that its related to the elephant.

This creature is a crazy creature of the sea and despite technically being a colony of  microorganisms. Imagine being underwater and spotting this object moving and wriggling around in front of you. A pyrosome is a remarkable organism that exhibits groupthink.

A native of Madagascar, the aye-aye is a long-fingered lemur with rodent-like teeth that never stop growing and a distinctively thin middle finger. The biggest nocturnal primate on the planet is it. These tiny nocturnal creatures look like a cross between a mouse, panda and an alien.

Jerboas are tiniest little kangaroo-bunny-mice who bounce across deserts at speeds of 15 mph while using their small pom-pommed tail for balance. They frequently have four homes, live in burrows, and bathe in dust to keep themselves clean. This creature lokks both crazy and cute.

This weird looking species are called goose barnacles, also known as stalked barnacles or gooseneck barnacles, and are filter-feeding crustaceans that inhabit the ocean's intertidal zone adhering to the hard surfaces of rocks and flotsam. Goose barnacles live attached to rocks, ships, ropes or flotsam floating out at sea.

It produces eggs. It makes milk to feed its young. Its bill is crammed with sensors that can detect an electrical field emanating from a worm buried in the mud. It has webbed feet and a tail resembling a beaver. On their back ankles, the males' venomous spurs are visible. This creature can pretty much do everything.

All of the tropical and subtropical oceans are the home to the Fregatidae family of seabirds, which includes frigate birds. They all primarily have black plumage, long tails with deep forks, and long hooked bills. I don't think that pouch can possibly get any bigger than that.

This crazy creature has to be up there with one of the weirdest looking on the list. A species of exceptionally large saltwater clam belonging to the Hiatellida family is called the Pacific geoduck. The geoduck is a native of the eastern North Pacific Ocean's coastal waters from Alaska to Baja California.

Echidnas are protected by caves and rock cracks because they cannot withstand high temperatures. Echidnas in the wild use underbrush, roots, and other debris as hiding spots. Burrows that were made by rabbits and wombats are frequent hiding spots for them.

Although okapis resemble zebras in appearance, they are more closely linked to giraffes due to their striped stripes. They are the only two Giraffidae relatives still living. They only come together to reproduce and spend most of their time alone. Okapis only eat plants that are indigenous to the area where they inhabit.

This South American freshwater turtle can be found in slow-moving streams and wetlands where it can stand in shallow water and extend its nose to the surface in order to breathe. It is an odd, ancient-looking monster that is obviously designed for concealment. Its flattened, triangle-shaped head and horned snout resemble fallen leaves, and its brown/black shell is supposed to resemble bark.

The vast majority of their time is spent underground. They only come out to reproduce once a year, during the monsoon season in India, for two weeks. A breeding pair will deposit up to 3,000 eggs per year on rocks near streams before returning beneath the ground.
