Freshman At College Reveals Their First Meal

The breadless cheese sandwich

What happens when you forget to pick up bread at the store? Well, you can still have your cheese and mayo sandwich, just be a little creative about it. This guy just stuck some mayo in the crease of a slice of cheese and voila, a gluten-free cheese sandwich option.

A delicious Bloody Mary pasta, the perfect drinking meal!

This college student actually admitted in a Reddit threat they were running low on food and money on their first day of college, meaning they needed to resort to some drastic actions to make dinner. So, she decided to mix dry pasta with a Bloody Mary mix and this is the result.

When Italian meets Japanese...

Who says that the Italian and Japanese cuisines don't mix? Although, I don't think the aim for this Freshman was to start-up their own Italian-Japanese restaurant. It seems like the student had no option but to throw some ramen noodles with pepperoni, cheese and tomato paste.

Avocado with jelly on toast, there's nothing better!

In all fairness, I'm kinda interesting in trying this one. I wonder how it tastes for avocado to be paired with jelly like this? I mean, I enjoy avo on toast and I also enjoy jelly on toast, why would I not like avocado and jelly on toast? Brb, making this now!

Wham, bam, Spam Parmesan!

This college student created their very own culinary dish... Spam Parmesan. They put together egg noodles and thin spaghetti with fried spam, some cheese and then smothered the whole thing in a tin of tomato soup. You've got to give it to these kids, they're geniuses.

Mustard and ketchup on some yummy moldy bread...

Saved once more by the humble condiment packet. A sandwich made of rotten bread, ketchup, and mustard is the lowest of the lows. You're probably reading this and thinking, "Thank God I graduated," since you can't afford to be picky when you're hungry and broke.

Forget grilled cheese, it's all about ironed cheese...

When you don't have a toaster grill at college, you have to be resourceful. The foil, acting as a steamer to melt the cheese and also toast the bread, is the secret. No doubt this person passed their degree with flying colors if they were this genius!

I'm sure the Spanish would love this authentic dish!

This extravagant looking dish is actually made up of minced potato blocks, "authentic" Spanish chili sauce, tomato glaze and some pickles too. What makes this even worse is that isn't a tortilla wrap, its an imported flour crepe. Get this guy his Michelin star!

The iconic Ramlet dish

Have you ever heard of a Ramlet? Well, now you have. Here you can see a nicely polished omelet sat upon a bed of dry-looking ramen noodles. I mean, I see where they were trying to go with this, ramen can often be polished with a boiled egg, but I don't think they executed it properly.

These noodles look about ready to hatch

Firstly, why do these noodle sacks look oddly like spider's eggs before they hatch? I would definitely not be eating that. Also, very odd to pair it with a grilled cheese sandwich and crepe with butter. This has got a 1 star rating from me... try again.

Tuna, egg and cheese... I guess?

I see where they were going with this first dinner dish but the execution was somewhat amiss. This college student whipped up tuna, egg and cheese between two slices of bread and decided to enjoy it with some homemade mayochup condiment on the side. Can't say I'm jealous!

Can't go wrong with a bit of soggy bread

Maybe this tastes nicer than it looks, we'll just have to take their word for it. Apparently this college student slapped together two slices of toast with pizza sauce, ham and cheese, and this is the monstrosity they created. I would've just ordered pad-thai!

Out of dishes? Just grab a mug!

Tell me you've got no dishes without telling me you've got nod dishes. This freshman college student had to get a little inventive with their choice of dish and mixed together some popcorn chicken,, corn and mashed potato in the only mug they had!

This mismatch sandwich of everything, everywhere, all at once

That's actually the crusty end of the loaf, which is much worse than no bread at all. The question is whether this college student is hungry and combining what they have because what cash-strapped twentysomething can afford to keep all of a sandwich's ingredients fully stocked, let alone cheese?

Tell me you can't cook, without telling me you can't cook

Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods. Ramen is also one of my favorite foods. Would I spread peanut butter onto a dry block of ramen? Hell no. It seems like someone ran out of bread on their first day of college so had to improvise with another form of carbs. Yuck!

Banana and fish, just in case you were wondering

My first question is whether this dish is genuinely safe to eat or not. Why would you mix banana with fish heads like that? Whoever raised this college child ought to have made sure they at least some basic health and safety kitchen skills when they moved away!

This student was in quite a pickle on their first day

One college student admitted that due to their lack of funds and food on their first day at college, they decided to make a somewhat simple (and disgusting) sandwich. She took two pieces of bread and stuffed it with pickles. She even went as far as drizzling the sandwich with pickle juice and eating for the entire semester!

This is what happens when you make snacks under the influence

It's safe to say that this freshman student must've had a major case of the munchies this particular night as there's no other way anyone would pair chocolaty Oreos with a can of Easy Cheese string cheese unless they were high as hell. I wondered how it tasted though.

A makeshift tortilla pizza (gone wrong)

This is definitely one of those try-hard college freshmen that thought they'd tackle making their very own pizza to impress their flatmates, but actually it turned out pretty gross. Just looking at it, you can see that it's overcooked and definitely looks a bit slimy.

A pickled Oreo... why!

We've already seen one disgusting amendment to Oreos in this list and I wasn't expecting another. It's fine to like pickles, but to like them this much? Hell no. I'm hoping that this was some kind of sick joke, or was just to make them stand out from their housemates.

When you've ran out of carbs

When you've ran out of carbs to go with your tuna mayonnaise, you have to improvise with something else. Well, this is what this college student had to do. They scooped their tuna onto a cone like it was a delicious lump of vanilla ice cream. It gets zero stars from me!

PB&J dipped in some milk

Some childhood habits should've really been left in childhood. Take this for example, how can someone think it's socially acceptable to go to college and exhibit such psychotic tendencies, like dipping bread in milk. There's many things wrong with this world and this is up there!

Dr pepper, nuts and noodles

Can we be honest, is that nuts floating in the Dr Pepper there on the side? If that's so, that's just disgusting. I can't say this is one of the most impressive first dinners on this list. I guess the noodle pot aint so bad, but all these flavors mixed together was surely quite sickly.

Just a mayo sandwich, nothing to see here...

This is giving the vibe of picking up all the necessities from the grocery store but actually forgetting to buy anything to put between the bread. It seems like this freshman college student didn't think things through and had to have a plain mayo sandwich for their first dinner.

No cutlery means Miso soup with some tortilla chips

Not going to lie, Miso soup is great, so I can see why'd they'd want it as a first dinner. But what makes this dinner so college-student-esque is definitely the lack of cutlery this person had. They had to crack open a pack of tortilla chips to eat their soup with.

You've heard of pineapple on pizza, but what about banana?

Whoever this college student was clearly had a bit of wealth behind them to afford take-out on their first day of school. Honestly, who would even think to try banana on a pizza, like where did that come from? While it doesn't look as bad as some of the other entries, I don't think it's for me.

Oh deer, oh deer...

This Freshman student got a little creative with their first meal, pairing some gifted deer burgers (from a friend) with McDonald's ketchup packets (why the heck not), beef ramen seasoning, chili powder, and some pearl onions. They compared it to eating straight vinegar.

Whatever the heck this is?

We're looking for someone to come forward and tell us what the heck this sandwich is made up of please. I mean, we can see the butter but what on Earth is all the brown stuff. Pickle? Nutella? Whatever it is, I sure don't want to be eating it thanks!

A traditional Yorkshire pudding and baked bean dinner

I think this college student may be from England because there's no way that any US college student would eat such an abomination. The guy who made this was so proud of his invention that he actually tweet Gordon Ramsay to ask what he thought! No doubt, he was ignored.

This one has gone too far...

This pickle obsession has officially gone too far. Pickles are great, I get it. But you don't need to slap them on everything; bread, peanut butter, Oreos... Is it not okay to just let a pickle be a pickle for once please? These freshmen students clearly had some screws loose.
