Creepy dolls in Chernobyl

Obviously, we have to kick start this list with one of the creepy finds in Ukraine's very own Chernobyl. When a pair of explorers went looting through the ruins of Chernobyl, they came across a few spine-tingling finds. This creepy doll was one of them. No thanks!

A goldfish - still alive!

An explorer in Detroit tells of the time that they managed to stumble upon some live marine life in an abandoned building. It was submerged in black water, about two inches worth, in an old, small home. The best thing about it is that the little fella got taken home with his new parents.

A spooky Polaroid

Fingers crossed that this is actually a prank rather than a genuine Polaroid photo someone took seriously. If I broke into an abandoned home and saw this Polaroid, trust me when I say I wouldn't be hanging around for much longer. I don't see him and nor would I like to!

A Pokemon book inside a Victorian home

What's stranger than finding an open Pokemon book in an abandoned home? Finding an open Pokemon book in a Victorian home, that's what. Obviously, there was no weird time travel nonsense going on but it feels odd that these familiar objects have been found in old places.

An amputated human finger

If you're headed to the morgue, you're probably going to come across a few gruesome finds. One explorer recounted the story of when they went searching through a disused, abandoned morgue. What they came across would scar them forever. It was a human finger submerged in liquid.

Leftover money!

Imagine going urban exploring and hitting the jackpot. Well, that's what this guy did. When traipsing through an abandoned home in Ontario, the guy came across loads of rolled up money stuffed behind a mattress. If this is a regular occurrence then I'm definitely in!

A spooky pram sitting in the attic

What would your reaction be if you went into the attic of an abandoned home to see a pushchair just sat there, facing away from you. What makes this even more creepy is that it is the only object up in the attic... and it hasn't been folded away! I'd simply leave.

Freaky dummies just sitting there

If you're going to break into a disused Wild West theme park then you're probably going to find a few strange sights. Well, these guys in Japan managed to break their way into an old abandoned park and saw everything that was left there, including this freaky looking dummy.

Spiders, spiders and more spiders

Naturally, if you're breaking into an abandoned place you're going to find all sorts of wildlife that has taken it upon themselves to move in. Spiders are one of these pests that just hang around places to make them look creepier. I mean, look at the size of these ones.

A grenade locked away

When an urban explorer went and stifled there way through an abandoned 1960/70s home, they happened upon a safe with this spooky yellow note. I mean, thanks for the disclaimer but I'm pretty sure we can all see that it's a grenade! I hope it was disposed of properly.

Knives galore

Something tells me that these knives weren't just used for chopping meat and peeling potatoes. There's nothing else that says leave now more than a few knives of various shapes and sizes loitering the floor. I wonder how many of these have been used in a crime?

Cymbal-banging monkey just chilling

This person had not long moved into their new home after it was abandoned for some time. When they arrived, this is one of the creepy objects they were met with. A battered-and-bruised cymbal-banging monkey. If you ask me, I think this monkey has seen a bit too much.

A blocked off doorway

When this guy moved into his new home that had been abandoned for some time, he came across something eerily creepy in the basement. Someone had sealed off a door using a cabinet. It begs the question... who were they keeping out? Or... what are they keeping in?

Strangely, the world's most expensive comic book

After searching an abandoned home, one lucky urban explored came across this copy of a comic book. As it turns out, it's the exact same comic that was stolen from Nicolas Cage's house in 2000, which went missing for over a decade. It eventually sold at an auction for $2.16 million.

Someone's old class yearbook

One explorer wanted to take a trip down memory lane and broke into his old high school. After looting round for some time, he happened upon his 2007 year book - the year he graduated. He was able to find himself in a school this old. Time is crazy!

A secret room under the stairs

Not long after a renovation of an abandoned home, this couple were met with an odd addition to their home. As it turns out, there was a secret passageway underneath their stairs that led to a solitary dark room. I'd put the house back on the market!

A pristine abandoned home

Is it me or does this look like it was taken straight from Courage the Cowardly Dog. It's a case where explorers found a home that looked to be in pristine condition. There's no broken windows, no evidence of graffiti, no drug needles or anything like that. Just a house preserved in time.

TVs with bullet holes

I know I've been mad at the results of a baseball game before but never so mad that I've popped a bullet through my TV, that's for sure. I wonder what it was that caused someone to go on such a rampage with all the TVs in this house. Also, why stack three TVs like this?!

The creepiest painting ever

Listen, I'm all here for art. I love an abstract painting that tells the story of a thousand words... but this has taken it too far. I would be convinced that any abandoned home that had this painting it was cursed. Believe me when I say I would've ran.

Clothes just... hanging

What reason could there be to hang your clothes in such a fashion? From afar, I bet this view looked so scary, I don't think I would've gone any further. This urban explorer was looking through some shacks in the Mojave for a High School project. Safe to say, they never went back.

Straps on a hospital bed...

It's so weird to think that they would use to strap mental health patients to the bed in this way. I mean, they probably still do it at some barbaric institutions, but seeing it as you loiter around an abandoned hospital is something else I think. I would've gotten straight out of there.

A singular child's bed frame

When you pack up your house to move elsewhere you're expected to pretty much take everything you own. Well, not this person. They decided to leave behind just a little child's bed frame (and the home was 200 years old too). I'm sure that gave those explorers a fright.

Simply a spotless room

What's even more spooky than finding a ravaged, abandoned room in disrepair? Finding a seemingly immaculate disused room that looks like it has been paused in time. The explorer described the room as though someone had been squatting there recently, with nice furniture and freshly-painted walls.

An interrupted game night

What on Earth could be so urgent that you leave your wine and game of chess and never come back to it? Well, wouldn't we all love to know! Either they finished the wine or someone eventually rage quit when they were losing. Either way, it makes for a pretty eerie picture.

Strange cemented columns

This is probably one of the oddest finds in this list. These cement-block columns were found deep underground when some people went exploring. There's many questions to ask. Who put them there? How long have they been there? What are they supporting?

A spooky figure of a man in a dark room

Imagine this! An explorer was working their way around an abandoned women's juvenile prison when they came across what seemed to be a person standing impressively still, staring at them. When they went up to investigate they realized it was just a cardboard cutout!

Giant Pokemon and Pikachu costumes

I'm not sure what it is with Pokemon memorabilia in creepy abandoned homes, but here we are. When a couple of people went exploring a New Jersey spot, they broke into a theater that had been out of action for years. In there they found some giant Pokemon and Pikachu costumes.

Suicide files left in a hospital

One avid urban explorer was doing his regular run of an abandoned psychiatric hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Naturally, if you're exploring an abandoned hospital you're going to come across some creepy stuff. So they did. Here you can see a formal documentation of a suicide.

Scratch marks in seats at a rehab center

One explorer decided to dabble in an abandoned brain trauma rehab center and was not disappointed by what they found. There were wheelchairs painted with the patients' names and then deep scratch marks in chairs that looks as though patients were clawing at them to get out.

Blood leading to a machete

If there's one thing you expect to find in an old abandoned farmhouse, it's a machete, right? These explorers happened upon an old, rusty machete when they went exploring near lake Lowell in Idaho. What made this even more unsettling was the spray of blood across the door. Yikes.
