As humans, we have quite a lot of trouble digesting meat.  In fact, it is said to be one of the most difficult foods for us to digest.  Our bodies have a hard time breaking down the protein contained in meat, especially red meat.  And this can cause uncomfortable bloating and a slowed-down digestive system.
