A lot of people who claim to have been visited from the dead say that its almost as if they felt someone watching them, sometimes even when they're asleep. Scary! We've all had that feeling where we can tell someone is looking at us, and if you're alone then you might be being haunted!

Weird Smells Around Your House

Particularly if these smells are coming from a specific place (maybe not your fridge or the bathroom as these are common areas for some weird and disgusting odors). Don't rush to ghosts here though, there could be a more rational explanation for these smells; or maybe you're suffering from phantosmia, a condition where you can smell things that aren't actually there.

Now this one would really creep me out! If you can hear any whispering or echoes then it might be a ghost or former enemy watching you! It's believed by those who are intrigued by ghosts that some physical spaces can soak up the energies of those who died there or nearby.

Pets can be a strong determiner in whether or not you are being haunted as it is believed by paranormal followers that they can actually see things that we are unable to see. Sleep paralysis unfortunately affects roughly 8% of the worlds population and it can be a truly terrifying experience. Essentially you're stuck in this half-awake state where you are somewhat lucidly dreaming and it feels like you might be trapped. This could be the work of an afterlife figure.

Okay, this one sounds a little bit sci-fi but paranormal 'experts' claim that ectoplasm often appears in houses that are being haunted. Ectoplasm is a weird, often clear, viscous fluid (kind of like egg whites) that will appear in specific areas of a house where the weird ongoings are occurring.

This one is touching on being horror film worthy, but ghost hunters have claimed that if someone in your home goes through a sudden and drastic personality change that they might be suffering from demonic possession or influence. This could be your former enemy coming back to haunt you.

Evidently, animals can play quite a big role in you determining whether or not you are being haunted. On some occasions, some people who believe they are being haunted have claimed that a number of dead animals have appeared near their home, ranging from dead insects to cats, dogs and birds.

This is another example of a paranormal entity getting up to some sneaky tricks, and if you're shower water starts to get boiling hot whilst you're trying to get clean you might be in danger. It could be a sign that someone is trying to hurt you, or you might just have a dodgy boiler.

Now, it is possible that you might have scratched yourself at some point without you noticing, or maybe you've just scratched yourself in your sleep. Some people believe this is a sign someone has to tried to get to you however.

Yep, these things have really been claimed to happen in real life, not just in your favourite (or least favourite) horror films. After all, they are claimed to be based off of true stories! But some people have claimed that handprints have appeared on their windows over night or during the misty weather.
