Clark "Mouth" Devereaux - THEN

Mouth thinks he's a cool dude with his short, styled up hair, Purple Rain shirt, and gray Members Only jacket covering it.  He also wears a pair of gray parachute pants and Nike sneakers.  Mouth has a poor sense of humor and is always being told to shut up by his friends as he doesn't know when to stop talking!  His mother passed away when he was very young.

Corey Feldman - NOW

Corey Feldman's early career consisted of starring in iconic films.  There was "Gremlins", "Stand By Me" and "The Lost Boys."  He became close friends with Corey Haim, from working together and they were known as "The Two Coreys!"  Sadly, Feldman turned to drugs and was sent into a downward spiral.  He has worked on himself and has used his voice on some animated movies.

Michael "Mikey" Walsh - THEN

Mikey, the younger brother of  Brand, is one of the movie's main protagonists.  He is the leader of the gang and the most enthusiastic about locating the treasure.  Mikey is the one who knows the most about the tale of One Eyed Willy and he was able to figure out most of the booby traps in the caves.   His crush on Andy is plain for all to see.  During his speech that he delivers at the bottom of the well, he mentions his parents were on a game show!

Sean Antin - NOW

Sean Astin is the son of Oscar-winning actress Patty Duke.  Following The Goonies, he went on to star in the thriller "Toy Soldiers" in 1991 and the football underdog in "Rudy."  Sean played the role of Samwise Gamgee in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.  Astin turned to directing and voice over work and spends lots of time these days running marathons and promoting fitness.

Stephanie "Stef" Steinbrenner - THEN

Blonde Stef wears specs and mismatching earrings!  We often see her blowing bubbles with her chewing gum.  During the sequence of the chase between the Astoria police and the Fratellis, Stephanie become distracted from witnessing it because her head is submerged in a tank full of water.  We see her pull out a crab which she tosses over her shoulder!

Martha Plimpton - NOW

The ex model and already successful actress, Martha Plimpton, appeared in several indie films during the 1990s and she cemented her reputation with performances in "Hobson's Choice" and "Coast of Utopia."  Plimpton has also enjoyed success on the small screen with her roles in "Raising Hope" and "The Real O'Neals."  She received an Emmy for "The Good Wife" in 2012.

Andrea Theresa "Andy" Carmichael - THEN

Andy, with her long, wavy red hair, usually wears a white tennis outfit and white Nike sneakers.  She also wears Troy's yellow jacket until she ditches it in the Moss Garden Wishing Well.  Andy does not see the car chase between the police and the Fratellis as she is involved in cheerleading practice, in her pink outfit and matching pink legwarmers.

Kerri Green - NOW

Kerri Green's journey into stardom started and stopped at The Goonies.  She made odd appearances in television shows like "Mad About You" and "Murder, She Wrote."  Kerri went on to form a production company targeted at women.  She did reappear with Astin at the "2017 New Jersey Horror and Film Festival" and started directing, preferring to be behind the camera.

Richard "Data" Wang - THEN

Data can be recognised by his large gray overcoat that is covered in iron-on patches!  He has a chest plate and belt where he hangs his multiple inventions, so he ends up looking like a walking multi-tool!  Data is never without his large backpack which is crammed with useful and not so useful items.  When he tests out an invention that reels objects in via suction, it backfires and he ends up in the trash can!

Ke Huy Quan - NOW

After appearing in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", Jonathan Ke Quan (also known as Ke Huy Quan) disappeared from the limelight.  He went on to re-invent himself as a memorable stunt coordinator for famous movies such as "X-Men" in 2000 and "The One" in 2001. He attempted a comeback into acting twenty years later, the first one being "Finding Ohana."

Brandon "Brand" Walsh - THEN

Brandon (Brand) is the oldest member of the Goonies and he lives with his parents and younger brother, Michael, in the Goon Docks of Astoria.  He usually wears a red bandana around his head, like a sweatband so he looks cool!  Brand arranges a date with Andy who he has a mad crush on but he's not in the best of moods as he has just failed his driving test.

Josh Brolin - NOW

Josh Brolin (son of James and stepson of Barbra Streisand) didn't reap the benefits of his early fame in The Goonies until he starred in "No Country for Old Man" in 2008.  He followed this up with "Oldboy" and "Sicario".  He was reported to have said that he preferred his villainous roles such as "Avengers: Infinity War" and later "Avengers: End Game" in 2019.

Troy Perkins - THEN

Troy's go-to clothing consists of a yellow, blue and cream letterman jacket and denim jeans. During his ride in his Ford Mustang with Andy and Stef, he's wearing an Astoria Country Club visor and uses his rear view mirror to peer at Stef.  At the club he can be seen in an orange jumpsuit!  He lends Stef one of his Country Club jackets when she gets cold.

Steven Antin - NOW

Stephen Antin has turned to working as a screenwriter and the ex actor has been extremely successful.  He wrote "Gloria" in 1999 and also "Chasing Papi."  In 2009 Antin started directing and his credits include "Glass House: The Good Mother", starring Angie Harmon.  Stephen has directed some music videos, "Girlicious", "Like Me" and "Destinee & Paris."  Openly gay,  he used to date David Geffen.

Sloth - THEN

We first catch sight of Sloth when he is seen chained in a room and being forced to listen to Jake's really bad singing!  He is left with food just about out of reach and a spying Mikey pushes the bowl closer to allow him to get his meal. When Chunk is interrogated by the Fratellis, they tie him up in the same room as Sloth. Chunk is scared of Sloth's appearance and screams for help.

John Matuszak - NOW

Underneath those deformed features and tons of makeup that went into creating Sloth, 6 foot, 8 inch John Matusza was a former top NFL draft pick.  He won two Super Bowls as a defensive lineman with the Oakland Raiders.  He then turned to full time acting and starred in "The Ice Pirates" and "One Crazy Summer."  The troubled man died from a prescription drug overdose in 1989.

Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen - THEN

Chunk struggles to tell the truth and in between his lies he constantly eats.  The "Truffle Shuffle" is his signature dance, where he pulls up his shirt and wiggles, making rude and embarrassing noises!  He's always getting into trouble and previously pranked the sheriff with making up the most ridiculous stories and causing general mischief to the residents of Astoria.

Jeff Cohen - NOW

After starring as Chunk in The Goonies, Jeff Cohen appeared in the television movie "Ask Max" in 1986 and "Family Ties."  He then decided to concentrate on his education and graduated from the UCLA School of Law, enabling him to train as an entertainment lawyer.  He often contributed to "The Huffington Post" and "Backstage."  Cohen has also become an author, writing about setting up a business in Hollywood.

Mama Fratelli - THEN

Mama Fratelli is middle aged with graying brown hair.  She always wears a black beret, a pearl necklace and a black cardigan over a black dress. She has a tattoo that reads "son" on her left arm and can be seen wearing black driving glove at the start of the movie.  She leads the police on a wild goose chase after helping her son escape from Clatsop County Jail.

Anne Ramsey - NOW

A stage actress of many years standing, Anne Ramsey began regular work in tv and film in the mid 1970s.  It was her performance as villain Mama Fratelli that sparked a late career renaissance for Ann.  She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "Throw Momma from the Train", where she played the overbearing matriarch.  In 1988 it became known that she was suffering from throat cancer and she sadly passed away at the age of  59.

Jake Fratelli - THEN

Jake Fratelli has short black hair which is often hidden under a trilby hat.  He wears a white shirt with a black vest and a gray colored scarf.  On top of that he wears a red plaid jacket.  Jake has been arrested and is behind bars in Clatson County Jail.  He tricks a prison guard into thinking he's killed himself and then knocks the guard unconscious, so he can escape.

Robert Davey - NOW

Robert Davey played drug lord Frank Sanchez in James Bond's "License to Kill" and later starred in "Predator 2 in 1990.  He featured prominently in the crime drama "Profiler" in the 1990s and surprisingly released an album in 2011, singing Frank Sinatra classics.  Davey had his own podcast where he often spoke about charities he was passionate about and supported.

Francis Fratelli - THEN

Francis has light brown hair and is starting to go bald. He wears a toupee to cover his bald spot and he shouldn't have bothered as it looks so fake! We see him in specs, a dark shirt with a brown vest.  We can see a holster strap for his gun. At the beginning of the movie he captures Chunk.  Fratelli helps his brother break out of Clatson County Jail.

Joe Pantoliano - NOW

Joe Pantoliano has certainly carved out an impressive career,  He is one of Hollywood's most recognised character actors.  After The Goonies, he starred in "Midnight Run", "The Fugitive" and bad boys.  To top off an already wonderful back catalog, he finished the decade with the huge blockbuster "The Matrix."  Pantoliano received an Emmy in 2003 for his performance in "The Sopranos" where he played Ralphie Cifaretto.

Irene Walsh - THEN

Irene is Irving Walsh's wife and mom to Mikey and Brand.  She wears her blonde, curly hair up in a bun.  Her left arm is in a sling and this was apparently due to a real life injury she received before filming started.  Irene tends to mispronounce words and she says phrases wrongly.  It's quite funny because Mikey inherits this strange quirk from his mother.

Mary Ellen Trainor - NOW

Mary Ellen Trainor has appeared in many other well known movies including "Romancing the Stone", "Monster Squad", "Freaky Friday" and "Forest Gump."  She was married to director Robert Zemeckis for over 20 years and they had a son called Alexander.  Trainor died in 2015 at her home in California, from complications from pancreatic cancer. She was 62 years old.

Rosalita - THEN

Rosalita is the Walsh's housekeeper in The Goonies.  Just as Mikey’s father is ready to sign the foreclosure papers, which means the family would lose their home, Rosalita discovers that the marble bag belonging to Mikey is filled full of precious gems.  Mikey had taken them from he ship before the Fratellis could seize them.  Rosalita says, "My God, I'm in such a crazy house!"

Lupe Ontiveros - NOW

You will no doubt recognise Yolanda Saldivar from the movie "Selena" although the actress has been in many tv shows and films.  She once estimated that she had played a maid about 150 times during her career!  Saldivar was nominated for an Emmy for "Desperate Housewives" and received rave reviews for her role in "Chuck & Buck."  She and her husband had three sons.

Irving Walsh - THEN

Intelligent Irving Walsh, played by the great Keith Walker (Hollywood writer and actor) is the curator of the Astoria Historical Museum.  He lives in Goon Docks along with his wife and two kids, Mikey and Brand.  When Mikey was growing up, Irving would make up great adventure stories and tell them to his son at bedtime, including the oh so famous "One-Eyed Willy."

Keith Walker - NOW

Keith Walker has been in a number of movies and tv shows.  These included "Quincy M.E.", "Fantasy Island" and "The A Team."  Many of these roles saw him portraying some sort of news reporter or journalist.  Walker also worked as a writer, most notably the head writer for "Free Willy".  He also wrote two dozen episodes of the radio show "The Zero Hour.  He passed away, aged 61, due to complications from cancer.
