In Carolina the number one favorite pie is pumpkin pie, it's also one of the most popular choices throughout the entirety of North America. It's the perfect mixture of sweet with spices and perfect for fall time. Although, in California, pumpkin pie is loved all year round.

2. Louisiana: pecan pie

Pecan pie is the most delicious concoction which combines the crunch of the pecan with the sticky sweet syrup or molasses and crumbly pastry crust. And, it ranks as the all-time favorite pie in Louisiana. It's a regular dessert choice and it's especially popular around Thanksgiving time.

3. Alabama: apple pie

There aren't many desserts that have become such a classic staple as the iconic apple pie. It works all year round, it never fails to satisfy and it's consistently yummy. So no wonder that it's a firm favorite, and it's the most popular in the state of Alabama!

There's no disguising somebody who has eaten blueberry pie. The telltale vivid blue tongue and lips are a clear sign that someone's enjoyed this favorite dessert. For people living in Vermont, this must be a fairly common occurrence as blueberry was clearly voted as their favorite flavor of pie.

Is there a more classic USA dessert than key lime pie? It's one of those desserts that you cannot find easily anywhere aside from the US. But, in Ohio in particular, it is a very popular and common dessert as it turned out to be the favorite overall pie.

In Maine, the dessert flavors didn't actually win the title of favorite pie, that instead went to turkey pie! It makes a lot of sense, given that Maine is widely renowned as one of the best places for fresh turkey. So if you want to find a good turkey pie, head to Maine.

Crab pie seems like an unusual choice when you compare it to the staple apple pie for example. But, in Florida, they make a mean crab pie, and perhaps for this reason, it was voted as the state's favorite! It's made with buttery pastry and filled with fresh crab meat and a drizzle of cream.

Banana cream pie, does it get any more delicious than the combination of banana and cream? Then when you put them together in a pie you get a dessert on a different kind of level. And the people of Utah seem to agree. They voted banana cream pie as their favorite kind of pie.
