Despite English being the primary language spoken within America, there are areas in the country where English is the second language. This means that one or more languages are prevalent within these areas. Chinatown in California is a prime example, as Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese are the main languages spoken in this area.

Moving over to New York, we come to Little Italy, which is located within New York City. As you can probably guess, there is a large Italian-American population within this area, and this means that Italian is the prevalent language you can expect to hear.
