When the Spice Girls were at the height of their fame back in the 1990s, there was absolutely nothing they wouldn’t be happy to pose with. A few eager fans? Sure. The royal family? Tick. A football? Sure, why not. We love Mel B’s slightly bemused face here.

2. Having a cup of tea in Paris

The girls look super happy to be in Paris – and we can’t say we blame them! Here they are kicking back and relaxing with some tea in between their grueling shows across Europe. The Spice Girls were going strong until Geri Halliwell decided to leave in 1998, and the band split two years later.

3. Baby in a buggy

We’re not entirely sure why Emma Bunton has decided to climb into an old-fashioned buggy, but here we are. Baby Spice looks quite pleased with herself as she messes around in between takes for the Spice Girls movie, Spice World, which went on to make 56 million dollars.

4.  Posh and Nelson Mandela

Before Posh decided to restrict her smiles (she didn’t want to get face wrinkles you see) she actually had a fairly animated face. She’d often be grinning and pulling stupid faces in front of the camera, and she couldn’t help but beam as Nelson Mandela gave her a hug.

5. Party time

Back in the 1990s, the Spices Girls were regulars at the MTV Music Awards. They’d be spotted partying at both the UK event and the European bash on a regular basis – usually clad in traffic-stopping outfits. Here they are on their way to an exclusive after party.

6. Making the royals uncomfortable

Mel B, Mel C, Victoria, Geri, and Emma were VERY handsy when they met the now King Charles in Manchester back in 1997. They repeatedly touched and teased him, despite his obvious cringing, and Geri hit the headlines after she gave him that infamous kiss.

We don’t know about you, but we think the scarves, sunglasses and roses look is pretty powerful. The girls were only too happy to parade for the paparazzi while traveling through Europe – and it seems that Mel B and Geri are rather enjoying it. You go gals.

The look on Mel B’s face says it all. Here the girls are once again greeted by photographers after getting a long-haul flight, and it’s safe to say they’re not exactly looking overjoyed. Emma and Mel C are doing well to hold it together, despite the tiredness.

9. Grabbing King Charles

More mischief with King Charles. Emma just couldn’t help but give the former Prince a little squeeze when meeting him at a ceremony, which the media absolutely loved. We’re not sure Charles did though, as he later said he was ‘embarrassed’ by the girls’ behavior toward him.

Look how happy Posh is here! We’re not sure if she’s just happy to be out or she’s completely drunk, but it’s great to see Victoria Beckham with a smile on her face as she hangs out with pal and bandmate Mel B. Bonus points for the fabulous jazz hands.

11. AOL queens

When the Spice Girls weren’t busy posing with footballs, they were also doing photoshoots with computers. Obviously. The girl band was contracted to do some promotion with AOL, which involved a lot of smiling with some of the most old-fashioned computers you’ve ever seen.

After Geri left to start a solo career, the Spice Girls were keen to battle on. In 1999, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria and Emma attended the unveiling of their wax figures at Madame Tussauds, London, before the figures were later shipped to Madame Tussauds Amsterdam.

While signing autographs for fans on yet another Spice Girls world tour, Victoria Beckham was snapped grinning for fans. We’re not sure if this is a genuine smile or a grin-and-bear-it situation, but she’s persevering regardless. We wonder how many coffees she had…

14. The biggest trainers you will ever see

Baby Spice was famed for her gloriously chunky trainers – but we think this might be going a little bit too far. At a promo bash in Hollywood, Emma was presented with these monsters – and it seems that she and Posh are a little confused about their presence.

15. Pepsi pit stop

In 1997, the Spice Girls signed a deal with Pepsi, and they were soon starring in a glittery Pepsi commercial. But that clearly wasn’t enough for one of the biggest companies in the world. Pretty soon, the girls were wearing Pepsi-themed outfits from top to toe.

We want this carefree Victoria Beckham back. A little bit drunk, a little bit cheeky. After Geri left the band, the rest of the Spice Girls pushed on with their schedule, and they went pretty hard on the partying. We also love that Emma’s hat is nearly over her eyes.

25. Meeting the fans

The Spice Girls were the biggest girl group of all time. As they sold 86 million albums worldwide, it’s no huge surprise that they couldn’t go anywhere without being mobbed by adoring fans. Here’s Posh, Mel C and Baby signing some pictures as they left a restaurant in Washington.

We will always have a place in our hearts for Mel B. Strong, sassy, and always up a laugh! When she wasn’t cackling her way through interviews, she’d be bouncing around in the most iconic outfits imaginable, including this risqué little number. Bonus points for the glittery knee-high boots.

The Spice Girls always hit the headlines when they met the royal family, as they just couldn’t help but get excited. Here they’re pictured with very young Prince Harry, who had just lost his mother, Princess Diana. It was the first time the young prince was pictured with a smile on his face after his mom passed away.
