All The Rage In The 80's!

David Beckham wasn't always the famous footballer David Beckham, after all. Once upon a time, he was just a young boy with a haircut like any other kid his age. Here, at around age 14, he had a fuzzy light blonde hair do with no hair gel or product, longer on top!

The Floppy Fringe

Around 10 years later, David grew out his hair so that he could have that adorable floppy fringe in his eyes - looks great, but maybe not so practical for football. We'd like to say this is hair gel, but it's probably sweat from his efforts on the pitch, if we're being honest.

The Bright Blonde

Beckham is known for having blonde hair in his later years, and this is apparently where it all began. Where he always had a mousy blonde-brown look, it here looks like he's taken to the dye. He's still rocking that floppy in-eye fringe, and it looks like he's growing all his hair out.

Look At Those Sideburns!

David looks mighty happy here at how well his hair has turned out! He's still rocking the grown-out tousled look, only now he's decided to grow out his sideburns, too, so they're long down his cheek, as well as an addition of a subtle goatee for facial hair to complete the look.

Where Did It All Go?

But it looked so good when it was grown out! Now that blonde head of hair has all gone, sideburns included! During this time, Beckham embraced a buzz cut - and to be honest, when you get that hot and sweaty on the pitch, it must have been such a relief to not have hair to deal with!

The Mohawk

So apparently Beckham wanted some of his hair back a year later, but not all of it - so he made the logical decision to get a mohawk. Nothing wrong with that! Actually looks great, and it's one his most iconic known looks coupled with the set of earrings he was known to wear!

David Beckham then allowed his hair to grow back after his mohawk stage, but he still kept a tribute to the mohawk by spiking his hair up in the centre and across the middle of the head. It also looks like he went for both brown and blonde dye to mix it up!

The Centre Part

Wanting to keep his hair long (and rightly so) Beckham switched to a long and straight hair style with an obvious middle part. He was often seen also wearing this look with a headband to keep his hair back off his face, or he'd wear it in a half-up half-down look.

Cornrows

There was also a phase Beckham went through where he was seen putting his shoulder-length blonde hair into cornrows. He could be seen sporting these braids sometimes on the pitch, but it seemed to only be a phase, as it wasn't a look for him that lasted very long!

The Small Ponytails

Not only just one ponytail, but two! Actually a great idea when your hair is too short to pull back into one ponytail. Obviously his shoulder-length hair was getting annoying at this point when he was trying to play so he needed a stylish way to hold it back from his face.

... And Then He Shaved It All Off, AGAIN!

Despite his attempts with the two ponytails, apparently it was too much for him to deal with, so he went back to wanting to feel the fresh air run close to his scalp! Not long after he was showing off his ponytails he decided to shave it off again and keep the stubble short.

The Famous Headband

When thinking of David Beckham's style over the years, most people will particularly remember when he had long, sweepy hair and a thin elastic headband he always wore at the front. He often wore it for games to keep his hair out of his face when playing.

Gelled-Up Spikes

In the early 2000s, Beckham went for a shorter chopped look which he then styled up on the top of his head with a touch of hair product (okay, maybe a lot of hair product). He also paired his blonde hair with brown highlights, and also a return to the short goatee.

A Flatter, Darker Look

David then decided to embrace more of the brunette than the blonde when he went for a darker look. He also seemed to give up with hair products to spike up his hair, and instead deciding on a more flattened look on the head with side swept bangs at the front.

Bleached Blonde

David Beckham has not only experimented with many iconic hairstyles over the years, but also a few different colors. While leaving the brown behind, he took his normal blonde one step further by bleaching his entire head of hair and going back to his tousled, spiked look!

Less Hair, More Beard

Beckham seriously gets sick of his hair a lot, and he must have those electric shears on standby. This time, though, it seems he's concentrating more on his facial hair after shaving his head back to close-cropped. He's showing off more of a full beard here in a deep brown shade.

Beckham Embraces Darker Locks And A Thick Beard

It looks like Beckham is embracing more of his darker hair shade by growing out his head and styling it a casual, tousled way while getting rid of the blonde altogether! He's also gone for a more unkempt fuller beard, also in dark brown to match, with a short moustache.

Brown Curtains

Beckham's going for a more greasy look with this one - unless that's just far too much hair product? Either way, it looks like he needs something to hold aside those dark brunette curtains, with his hair now grown out again and swept to both sides. He has a little flick behind his ears to finish.

The Formal Slicked Back Look

Here pictured at a British royal event with his wife, Victoria Beckham, David is still sporting the dark brown color but he's now gone for a little cut and tame to look his best. Here he's rocking a slicked back look with a lot of product to keep it in place - especially on a windy day!

The Texturized Crop

Beckham has embraced the swept back look, but now gone for more of a trim on the sides. He's got a shaved look on both sides and thick on top, slicked back and a return to a subtle hint of blonde highlights out on the pitch. He's also still sporting that stubble!

The Longer Layers At The Front

Beckham seems to enjoy the short look on the side with the long slick look on top, but here he's grown the hair on top a little longer with less of a firm hold so that there are longer strands falling around the front. It's also the first time we can see the hint of greys in there!

The Standard Ponytail

While we saw David rocking a double ponytail in earlier years, with two small ponytails on top of each other, here he's finally gone just for the one. With his long blonde bob, it's long enough now to tie back in one band, paired with a gruff, stubbled beard and moustache.

The Floppy Front Strands

Finally embracing his model good looks instead of being out on the pitch, David poses still loving his slicked back hair do but keeping the longer length and ensuring a couple of strands flop down the front for a stylish look. No need for that headband anymore, right?

Tiny Man Bun

It still counts, right? Not only has David returned to the bob-length hairstyle, but now he's cut the ponytail out altogether and decided instead to go for the mini man bun at the back of his head. Here not only is the tied back hairstyle stylish, but it serves the purpose of showing off his neck tattoos, too!

More Hair Product, More Beard

David is now embracing a return to a blonde highlighted look while still keeping the brown, and now seems to be using more product on top for that texturized crop to keep it slicked back on his head. Now his beard is a longer length than he usually has with this hairstyle.

A Mid-Length Cut Brushed Down At The Back

We're used to seeing David with a long cut on top that he has swept or slicked back, but this is the first time he's shown off a longer length at the back and sides with this style, because he usually has the sides shaved or close-cut. Instead of tousling up the back, though, he's just brushed it down.

The Loose, Blonde Bob

We've seen Beckham with this hairstyle in different variations, but never like this! He's always had it either in a ponytail (or two), man bun or with a headband across the front. Here, he has it free and loose, tucked behind his ears and also in the lighter blonde shade.

The Casual Comb Back

Beckham here is still rocking his blonde highlight look with his natural brown beard, and here he just has a casual comb back over the top instead of using any product or an overly chopped look. It looks like it's combed back to tie behind his head, or just flat at the back.

Is His Hair Thinning?

David was snapped here around 2020/2021 looking like he had less hair than he's ever had! Not so much a shaved head, close-cropped cut, but more looking like his hair is significantly thinning. It seems that Beckham has in fact had a hair transplant to get his full locks back.

His Latest Look

These days, family man David seems to have fully embraced the darker hair rather than blonde, and favours that messy and choppy on-top look with neat, shaved sides. That gruff beard and moustache doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon, either - and he looks great!
