1. Emilia Clarke

After filming her first season of Game of Throne, Emilia had a brain aneurysm which led to surgery. She then had another aneurysm and surgery 2 years later after wrapping season 3 of GOT. "I now have a hard time remembering those dark days in much detail. My mind has blocked them out. But I do remember being convinced that I wasn't going to live," she told The New Yorker.

2. Sharon Stone

Sharon stone had a brain hemorrhage in 2001 which she thought was the end of her life. "I started to see and be met by some of my friends…people who were very, very dear to me [who had died], I had a real journey with this that took me to places both here and beyond. I get not to be afraid of dying and I get to tell other people that it's a fabulous thing and death is a gift." 

she told The Daily Mail.

3. Lamar Odom

Back in 2015, after Lamar and Khloe Kardashian had decided to go their separate ways, he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel after falling into a coma. "When you're an addict, nothing can get through to you. I never thought I was going to die. I never thought I'd be in a coma. I didn't think I had a problem,"

he wrote for The Players' Tribune.

4. Zac Efron

Zac Efron narrowly missed death when cycling in London with High Jackman. Whilst appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Efron explained, "I followed Hugh around a few cars and suddenly there was a double decker bus right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes, went under the front tire, and narrowly missed death."

5. Amy Schumer

Whilst out surfing in the middle of winter, a fin went straight through Amy's leg. She had to pull it out herself before finding help. She told Vanity Fair, "I found like one guy with this other guy. I was like, 'I need you to hold my leg.' I was delegating. And he held my leg closed with his bare hands—just fat and blood coming out. I wish I knew who that guy was, because he saved my life, for sure."

6. Eminem

The rapper had a close encounter with death "I had overdosed in 2007, like, right around Christmas in 2007…I pretty much almost died. I pulled through and went home and relapsed less than a month later and I literally shot back up to the amount of pills I was taking, shot right back up to where I overdosed." 

He decided to take matters into his own hands & stop living a self destructive lifestyle.

7. Leonardo DiCaprio

During a scuba diving trip, actor Edward Norton actually saved DiCaprio's life. The pair were shooting a scene in the Galapagos Islands when Leo's oxygen tank stopped working. Norton quickly handled the crisis by sharing his tank with him until they both hit the surface.

8. Elizabeth Taylor

During surgery, Taylor stopped breathing for five minutes - she revealed that her soul departed her body and she could see doctors trying to revive her. She said she went through a tunnel and could see her third husband, Mike Todd, who had died in a plane crash in 1958  - he told her to keep fighting.

9. George Clooney

Clooney collided with a Mercedes whilst riding his motorcycle at 70mph. He told The Hollywood Reporter, "It split my helmet in half, it knocked me out of my shoes. I was hit hard. I was just waiting for the switch to turn off because I broke his windshield with my head, and I thought, 'Okay, well, that's my neck.'

10. 50 Cent

Rapper, 50 Cent, was shot nine times at point blank range and spent 13 weeks in hospital recovering. He told the Daily Star, "I will be the person with the least amount of fear in the room when we're negotiating business, because I'll weigh it up against situations far more dramatic than a deal going bad."

11. Jane Seymour

When Seymour was 36, she caught bronchitis and needed antibiotics but when the antibiotic was injected into her vein and not her muscles, she went into anaphylactic shock and died. Luckily, she was resuscitated and whilst the nurse was trying to save her, she had an out of body experience.

12. Harrison Ford

Hollywood actor, Ford has had a few close calls with death. In 1994, whilst flying his helicopter, he crashed and the helicopter landed on it's side. In 2015, he also crashed a small plane into a golf course by Santa Monica airport. The actor however, managed to recover well after both times.

16. Kanye West

Wests' album, Through the Wire was about his near death experience in 2002. He got into a car accident and almost died - fortunately for him, he was saved. "If I would have passed that night, that would have been the end of my legacy,"

he told USA Today (via Insider). "Now when I go into the studio, I act like this could possibly be my last day."

Actress Sandra Bullock's terrifying near death experience happened in 2000, when her private jet skidded whilst trying to land in Jackson Hole, Wyoming during a blizzard. Luckily, she walked away unscathed and lived to tell the tale.

Whilst driving on a winding road in Los Angeles in 2006, Phoenix's car brakes failed, the car flipped and crashed into another car. Director Werner Herzog lived close by and helped the star. "There was this German voice saying 'Just relax.' There's something so calming and beautiful about Werner Herzog's voice. I felt completely fine and safe,"

19. Gloria Estefan

During her Cut Both Ways tour in 1990, her tour bus was hit by a tractor trailer during a snowstorm in Pennsylvania. The singer broke her back and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery to implant titanium rods into her spine. This saved her life.

20. Burt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds became addicted to sleeping pills whilst filming City Heat. It got to the point where he was taking 50 per day, and although he tried to quit the habit, he couldn't and ended up slipping into a coma. Whilst doctors revived him, he, like many others experienced an out of body experience.

Johnny Cash was taken into emergency surgery for a double coronary bypass when he caught pneumonia. In his autobiography, he wrote about how he saw a great light and walked towards it before waking up out of his emergency surgery.

In 1999, Martin Lawrence went jogging in layer of clothing during a scorching summers day. This resulted in his suffering from serious heat stroke and slipping into a coma for three days. After collapsing just outside of his home, his girlfriend called 911 to get emergency help.

in 2011, the actor almost died when he was flying in a small plane alongside Bruce Robinson. "The sound of the engines stopped. There was silence. Bruce and I were looking at each other and I think I said, 'Is this it?'

Osbourne fractured his collarbone, multiple ribs and fell into a coma for a few days after he crashed an ATV in 2003. He shared in his memoir, I Am Ozzy, "I didn't know where I was or how long I'd been there. I would drift in and out of consciousness. Other times there would be a white light shining through the darkness, but no f*cking angels, no one blowing trumpets, and no man in a white beard."

27. Rachel Bilson

Actress, Rachel Bilson was in a car crash at aged 14 which almost took her life. "I was with my girlfriend and these two guys driving down the Pacific Coast Highway. We were going really fast and we were involved in a head-on collision with a truck. They had to cut us out and I was in a coma for a few days,"

she told Mirror.

28. Tony Bennett

Legendary Tony Bennett almost died drowning in a hot bath when he overdosed on c*caine and fell asleep in the bath in the 70s. He spoke about how he could see a warm glow which made him feel at peace. His wife, Sandy Grant found him and rushed him to hospital - saving his life.

29. Drew Barrymore

Child star and Hollywood beauty, Drew Barrymore almost died on set filming Santa Clarita Diet. She went to jump on someone's back during a scene but fell off and smacked her skull on concrete. Paramedics took her to hospital where she was made to stay in for two days whilst doctors took CAT scans and MRIs. Luckily, she escaped with bad concussion.
