Taylor Swift is pretty famous for her infinite love of cats. She’s often spoken about Olivia in interviews, who was adopted as the singer-songwriter’s second cat in June 2014. Her cat’s full name is Olivia Benson, and is named after the character played by Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU, which happens to be of Taylor Swift’s favorite TV shows!

The pop star has often lamented about life being single (or picking bad boyfriends), and she’s pretty good at poking fun at herself about this. So fans on Instagram couldn’t help but laugh when the star posted this picture of her crying in a mirror, which is decorated with the words: “Smile! You’re going to be alone forever!”. We hope it doesn’t come to that for Taylor…

3. Met Gala

This candid photo of the star was taken backstage at the Met Gala back in 2016. The theme that year was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”, and we think Taylor pulled it off in spectacular style. As co-chair for the 2016 event, the singer decided on a metallic Louis Vuitton dress that was a lot more daring than her previous Met Gala looks.

Taylor and Cara have been friends for years. Cara was a member of Taylor’s infamous squad back when 1989 was released, which consisted of models and singers like Cara, Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez. While Taylor and Karlie aren’t friends anymore, Cara has had Taylor’s back over the years, and even stepped in when Justin Bieber called Taylor out for apparently setting her fans on Scooter Braun.

How cute is Taylor Swift here? This snap was taken when the singer was in her early teens, when she was already writing and recording music. She was signed by Big Machine Records in 2005, when Taylor was just 14 years old. At this point in her career, Taylor focused on country music, and released a whopping six studio albums - four of them for country radio.

Swifties (the most devout Taylor Swift fans) have done anything and everything to get tickets for her shows over the years, so you can imagine how delighted they are when they actually get to pose for a picture with their favorite star! Taylor Swift has hoards of paparazzi chasing her across the world – especially when it seems like she’s got a new boyfriend. Here the pop star was snapped while on vacation, and photographers were trying to get a picture of Taylor and her mystery man. She’s had a LOT of boyfriends over the years, including Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, and Joe Jonas.

Speaking of Calvin Harris – remember when the pair went on one of THE most romantic vacation ever? The pair escaped to a private tropical island to celebrate their year of dating back in 2016, and they took us through every romantic pose you can take with your significant other. Things didn’t last though – the couple broke up just three months later.

As a certified animal lover, the starlet doesn’t seem to be afraid of getting down and dirty on the farm with these adorable calves. 10. Harry Styles

While Taylor Swift and Harry Styles only dated for around a month or so, their whirlwind romance went viral. Here the pair were attempting a ‘casual’ walk in Central Park in December 2012, but were quickly rumbled by the paps. The pair were fairly young at the time (Taylor was 22 and Harry was just 18) so they were maybe a bit naïve about how public their date actually was.

Taylor and Harry parted ways in January 2013 after they got back from their Caribbean vacation, and it seemed that the I Knew You Were Trouble singer wasn’t all that pleased about running into her former boyfriend. At the MTV Music Awards, Taylor picked up a gong for this particular song and said: "I want to thank the fans [and] I also want to thank the person who inspired this song. He knows who he is because now I’ve got one of these.”

At this point, Harry looked super embarrassed.

It seems that a young Taylor was a big fan of the Teletubbies (or her young family members were anyway!). Here the singer is dressed up as Teletubby La La, and she’s holding a teeny-tiny family member who is dressed as Po. Taylor has incredible bonds with her family, and owes a lot of her success to her mom Andrea and her dad Scott. She’s still super close to both parents despite their divorce in 2011.

Taylor’s cat Meredith Grey is an adorable Scottish Fold cat, and is named after yet another character from one of the star’s favorite TV shows (this time, it’s Grey’s Anatomy). Taylor adopted Meredith on October 31, 2011, and is Olivia’s older sister. The Shake It Off singer said: Meredith is one of the best cats. She doesn't leave fur or fur balls and she is never aggressive or afraid of being around people.”

14. Holidaying with Haim

The pop star is known for her legions of famous friends, so it’s no great surprise that Taylor has been spotted on vacation with more Hollywood starlets. The Anti-Hero singer was seen living it up in Hawaii back in 2015 over the holiday season, and the singer-songwriters even posed for a few bikini snaps while taking a break from their private yacht before getting stuck into whale watching.

July celebrations in 2016. Apparently Tom wanted to make their romance more public, but Taylor wasn’t so keen, so she ditched him. And now Tom is a bit embarrassed by his fling with the singer, and it reportedly destroyed his chance of becoming the next James Bond. Ouch.

Taylor and Selena are long-term besties. They’ve been pals for over 14 years after they both dated various Jonas Brothers at the same time (Taylor was with Joe, Selena was with Nick) and they’re often publicly supporting each other through each other’s public drama. They’re always hanging out, hitting the red carpet and performing together – and Taylor even made a surprise appearance on Selena’s new HBO Max cooking show.

She’s made everything from birthday cakes and cookies to whoopie pies and crepes, and it seems like she’s a bit of a pro. We’re not sure where she finds the time exactly, but it seems like she’s got another great career to fall back to if she gets fed up with singing!

It’s been hard to keep up with Taylor and Katy’s love-hate relationship. They used to be pals back in 2009, but in 2012-2013, they were at each other’s throats after a row about backing dances escalated. Taylor’s song Bad Blood was allegedly about Katy, which did NOT go down well with her. But the pair eventually made up in 2017 and 2018 after Katy sent Taylor a literal olive branch, and Taylor sent Katy homemade cookies in return. Katy even starred in Taylor’s music video for ‘You need to Calm Down’ a year later.

Taylor met the Twilight hunk on the set of the movie Valentine’s Day back in 2009, and they quickly started dating. While things fizzled out after a few months (apparently Taylor Swift ditched the actor) there’s no bad blood between them. In fact, Taylor Swift wrote the song Back to December about Lautner, and it seems she regretted the breakup: “I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile,"

she sang, along with, "It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you," and "wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine."

As well as having pet cats, Taylor Swift also has two gorgeous dogs, which are both Doberman Pinschers. This photo is a picture of Bug as a puppy, but not much is known about him, as he has never featured as heavily in the singer’s Instagram feed as her cats. He’s only been pictured with Taylor in the odd snap, as well as an old video of Taylor watching the CMA Announcements.

Taylor has been pretty open about her songwriting process over the years – and she says it's pretty ‘dorky’. She essentially comes up with categories of songs based on what kind of pen she imagines she would have in her hand while she writes it. She has ‘Quill’ style songs if phrasings are antiquated, ‘Fountain Pen’ songs that have modern storylines, and ‘Glitter Gel Pen’ songs that are bouncy and carefree.

Taylor’s fans were outraged when they found out she was dating Matty Healy, the frontman from the Brit band The 1975. He’s been known for his controversial interviews and erratic on-stage antics (like kissing fans and eating raw meat) as well as his racist and sexist remarks. They started dating in May 2023, but split just a few months later. It seems that Matty was just a hook-up for her, as she was keen to ‘keep things casual’.

Andrea and Scott Swift are Taylor’s number one fans. Before she hit the big time, they were supporting the budding singer songwriter as she sang karaoke, and they would often drive her to local gigs near her hometown of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Her then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn had played a three-hour set in a popular city centre pub, and locals got a huge shock when the pop star walked through the door. The pair were together for six years, which is a seriously long time by Taylor Swift’s standards! Joe even helped the singer with her music, which he later won a Grammy for. They split without any drama; according to reports, their relationship simply ran its course. Fans are still pretty heartbroken though.

As soon as the trailer was released online, internet users were quick to mock the effects used in the film, but Taylor stood strong and owned her entire performance as Bombalurina. She was spotted shimmying away to her own song ‘You Need to Calm Down’, which inspired tons of ‘Drunk Taylor’ memes. The songstress even created a ‘cringe’ reaction video to her drunken antics.

When Swifties decided to camp out outside an apartment she was renting in New York during the winter, she kindly ordered a ton of Dominos pizzas to be delivered to them. She even went outside and handed out slices of pizza in-person whilst wearing high heels. What a gal.
