According to Brit comedian David Baddiel, Russell confided in his pal that he and his future wife had had an explosive row the evening before their nuptials in India, and David wonders if he should have intervened at the time.

Katy and Russell’s marriage lasted just 14 months before they divorced in 2011. Russell, who now faces multiple sexual assault allegations, claims that his marriage to Katy was ‘chaotic’, but still states that the California Girls singer is ‘an amazing person’.

In a candid interview with Vogue, Katy Perry made it clear that Russell wasn’t interested in communicating with her once he sent that devastating text. The singer said: “Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me on December 31, 2011.”
